Nah but my gecko friend said he wanted to stay an arctic/fennec fox hybrid a little longer because it snowed where he is.

I thought about it, being a bat was fun. But, I missed having my fluffy tail :3Douglas Collier wrote:Well, SCW is over. Did anyone decide to change their species permanently? =3
I'll be keeping the bat character I worked on though.

I thought about staying an animatronic, but my movement was slightly limited. So I stayed a human. And I was going to leave Mickey a snake, but then I'd have to go through a lot of paper trying to rewrite a few things or making Mickey Mouse jokes.
Shut it! Anyway, on the topic of the thread. Author doesn't consider herself a furry or have a fursona, but I'm the closest thing to it. I am a adorable bipedal brown field mouse that wears green pants, has a black muzzle and all four paws. I have brown eyes and are probably the best thing this world has ever seen! I-

I got too many colors to remember. I'll put them here to see. Aren't they nice? Yep! Absolutely!

Not exactly sure how to put that on the list. OC or fursona?
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

My fursona could be a Pekinese but I chose St. Bernard so she wasn't too small.

St. Bernards are big - about Rex's size (or bigger).
A hybrid would be about in Kevin's size range.

St Bernards are easily one of the biggest breeds of dog. The average weight is 140-264lb (64-120kg) and height at the withers (highest point of the shoulder) is 27.5-5.5" (70-90cm). So you'll easily be big enough for Kevin!
I'm back to being a quoll now. I'm considering keeping the thylacine as a secondary character though.

140 lbs? Wow - I didn't realize they got that big! ... In the Housepets! Universe, that'd probably make them about the size of one of the wolves, but more heavy-set.
Hmm, I wonder how thought-to-be-extinct animals would be treated in the Housepets! Universe? Your thylacine character could be treated like a king - or an experiment.

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
Technically mine is a custom species, but she most closely resembles a blue haired 8ft tall digit-grade anthropomorphic Black Panther (a melanistic Jaguar to be precise) who wears medieval attire. That said, there aren't many settings she fits onto well, so usually at least one of my rp characters is a bad knockoff of her, and I use that instead. more often than not said character has her color scheme.
Origionally, she was a feline furcadian... back about 16-17 years ago, then I got into elderscrolls and turned her into a Khajiit (a Cathay-raht specifically). but the current version, which is called a Lahrei (the panther thing described above) I've had for about 8 years now. she's always been some kind of large bipedal feline.

So... Big Daryl with droopy ears?Douglas Collier wrote:140 lbs? Wow - I didn't realize they got that big! ... In the Housepets! Universe, that'd probably make them about the size of one of the wolves, but more heavy-set.

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
What's Kevin, a Rottweiler? If so, they range from 35-60kg (77-130lbs) and 56-69cm (22-27 inches) tall. So yes, she'll undoubtedly be a lot bigger than him.
Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
He's a Doberman. Though I do think she'd still be bigger than him.Hlaoroo wrote:What's Kevin, a Rottweiler? If so, they range from 35-60kg (77-130lbs) and 56-69cm (22-27 inches) tall. So yes, she'll undoubtedly be a lot bigger than him.

I knew that!
In that case his stats are: 32-45kg (71-99lb) and 63-72cm (25-28 inches). So she's still a lot bigger.

OK then, how much bigger would Kevin be if she is a Pekinese then? Look at my Christmas gift from dryideabat. They are the same size so would a Pekinese work better?

Well, I never put this here, but it should have hopefully been very apparent, my fursona is my ferret Meeko, he's also my OC.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
She would be 7-14lb (3.2-6.4kg) and 6-9 inches (15-23cm) at the withers. So in the real world he'd weigh about ten times what she does and stand about 3-4 times her height. I can see the difference being evened out somewhat in the Housepets world though. You could ask Rick for specifics.Amazee Dayzee wrote:OK then, how much bigger would Kevin be if she is a Pekinese then? Look at my Christmas gift from dryideabat. By the power invested in me, by Rick Griffin and the Housepets! comic, I know pronounce that Elena is a Pekinese slightly shorter than Kevin.

Still, that'd be pretty big for a pekingese (recently learned that they're even smaller than corgis). Perhaps she's a mix?

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
Actually I Googled what their heights are in real life. Doberman's are about 2.3 feet and Saint Bernard's are 2.3 to 3 feet. They WOULD be about the same height, so I think I can get away with the Christmas pic.

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
She would have to be one malnourished St. Bernard, though, since they weigh about double what dobermans weigh. Perhaps she was the runt of the litter? Also, the fur pattern isn't a very common one for St. Bernards, other than the face - that's why I tend to think she'd be a mix. But really, it's your decision; I mean there are purple cats in the Housepets universe, so I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill (as I tend to do sometimes).

I really don't care much about what species she is as much as appearance. From the picture, for 600 points, what species should she be? If you say "mix", include the species that is in the mix.
Also, I DOUBT that Rick is gonna answer me about this.

After a lot of research, I've come up with an interesting possibility: A boxer samoyed mix, with a pekingese grandparent.

I've finally named my fursona: Kuro Negati (an English name combining Japanese and Italian words) (pronounced "kudo nigoche"). Still a white cat with a light gray tail-tip, and Kuro still translates to Black, of course.

I think Negate might not translate to anything and just be his last name.
Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
The name is claimed as English, but he said that's an Italian word, indeed. It means "denied". Just think about the meaning of the word "negation".Hlaoroo wrote:So what does Negati translate to?

Re: What Species Are Your Fursonas/OCs?
The R in Japanese actually sounds like a mix of the English R, L, D and a little bit of W. It's hard to explain, but those who couldn't roll their R's but tried to make a sound out of it anyway would be close to the Japanese R. So it's not that far-fetched to pronounce Kuro as ku-do, though it's not exact.
