Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
Ah, another piece of the puzzle.
So with that being said these are obviously the steps required.
1 Give the team a large 75 inch 4k resolution screen
2 Blackmail
3 Give diss massages
4 Render likes stuffed dolls, give him a truckfull
5 Furrhankensien is a scientist, volunteer to be a test subject for his new soda he created (hope it doesn't turn you into a fox)
6 redmail
7 greenmail
8 any other mail that seems important that is also of a color because that's somehow a thing
9 probably should buy black, red, green, and blue envelops
10 what do we put in this mail anyway?
11 ????
12 Profit
13 Wait no! gift cards, yes put the gift cards in black envelops
13 milk
14 eggs
15 cheese
16 more massages for the mod team.
17. Something, something ponies for some of the other mods.
I think this plan is fool proof.

2.) Why are your name and Ebly's in italics?

I can answer number 3: Sleet and I were promoted to Not the Comic mod at the same time. she then quickly got promoted to Global when one of the old globals stepped down.

I'd be impressed if you could do that, Amazee, since the comic and the forums didn't exist until the latter half of 2008.

2. Global moderators and administrators can see users who elect to appear offline; their usernames are italicized in the active users list.
3. Sleet moderated Not the Comic. She, RandomGeekNamedBrent, and CaptainPea took over this section after I became a supermod.
4. It was in my photobucket.
As a bonus old thing, here's six-year-old fan art of Rick's dog.

Huh. Now I'm curious as to how many other hidden permissions the globals have that no one knows about. I had no clue that it was even possible to change the settings/permissions regarding seeing those who appear off-line. Is that a custom mod or just something that's ordinarily in phpBB?Dissension wrote: 2. Yay for fanart! Who drew that? If it was you, Diss, you should totally do more because that's really quite good!
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I like that art, it is good. It is also weird to see all of the names as they were before I joined the forums.
And I bet I could beg for mod on this site in 2006, none of the mods are 8 years old. Just need to find them to beg to be a mod on a nonexistent site.

Well even if it didn't exist back then, I probably would have spent the most part of 2008 trying to become a mod.
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
Precisely, the italicized usernames are of the members who are set as hidden. Administrators and global moderators can indeed see them. It's a default feature of phpBB.Hlaoroo wrote:Huh. You could be perfect as mod, because nothing seems to be missed from your reading, except the Roleplaying section.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Well even if it didn't exist back then, I probably would have spent the most part of 2008 trying to become a mod.

I've heard of a mod that once banned people just for having similar Avatars to his.
Needless to say, he was removed from power rather quick when they found out, and eventually banned from the forum because he just caused so much trouble.

Huh. Why would Universal Studios do that? Have they had some prior deal with Nintendo that I don't know about?Saturn381 wrote:Nintendo is making a theme park at Universal Studios.

I'm sure you'd do fine in the RPs. They do involve a bit of work but it's well worth it for the enjoyment one can derive. If you like creative writing then you'll like the RPs. The stats aren't hard to work out either. You just work out your character's strengths and weaknesses and apply the stats accordingly. The stats are always the last thing I work out for my characters. You can also ask any GM or RP mod for help working out your characters. For the most part the RPs here are very different to RPGs like D&D so the stats are more a guide to how your character acts rather than set-in-stone rules.Amazee Dayzee wrote:I did think about going to the roleplaying section, but I'm not good at putting together stats like an RPG. Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
why does any company do anything? it'll get them more money. Nintendo is an untapped market as far as theme parks go, and it's one that'll likely prove fruitful. They just need to replace one or two of their less popular attractions and they'll bring in more patrons. I know I want to go (but to be fair that's mostly cause A) I've been there before and it;s awesome and B) I haven't been since they opened Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express)Hlaoroo wrote:Huh. (I really can't be that self centered and selfless. But really, it isn't to bad, once you get past the one bit on stats, its all pretty simple and you can make as many characters as you want, no one is pressuring you. There seems to be something for everyone there)

I doubt it for me but its nice to make one feel welcome like that.
I'm into slapstick and toilet humor as I grew up watching Disney movies pretty much. Though there seems to be a TON of toilet humor in the Games board.
Finally, I doubt that I will ever become anything here. Especially when a mod messages you and tells you that you are post flooding and its annoying and makes him not want to post on the forum.

it wasn't that you were post flooding, it's that most of the post flood was off topic. If you'll notice, Foxstar post floods whenever he gets on.
but in the RP section, as long as you're in character and not controlling someone else's character, you're on topic.

True. I guess it was the way that he worded it. I deleted it, but he asked if I enjoyed post-flooding, then said to stop posting so much after he posted because it annoyed him and made him want to post less.
Oh. I guess I didn't have to cut back on posting after all. Just not post a lot after he does.

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I think it just comes down to how often you seem to post in direct response to the last poster, which (about as often as not) makes your post really off-topic (because it's tangent off of someone else's tangent) or kind of unnecessary (like a "yeah, that's a good post" post, which are fine in moderation but could be annoying to Foxstar if he gets 15 of those in response to his post flood). So it's not the flood but the aggregate "on-topic-ness" of the flood that's important (especially if you're going to flood respond to someone's flood posting )

That section's historically caused a lot of unnecessary drama. Before the turn of the decade, some mods lobbied Rick to shut it down but Buck promised to fix things.

I do recall you mentioning that in the past, Diss, but I think 99.9% of those issues are gone now though. I think the RPs these days are lots of fun and quite harmless. The only issues these days arise from it being a cooperative effort and a commitment.

Universal sued Nintendo for making Donkey Kong games (they claimed it infringed on their copyright of King Kong). In the end, a court discovered Universal didn't own King Kong's copyright, just it's ENT rights, so Universal had to drop the case and reimburse Nintendo.Hlaoroo wrote:There was a lawsuit?
