So as it turns out, the wake of the guy I went to was indeed family because it was a secret that him and my mother's first cousin got remarried. Regardless, I was glad that I went there for family, even if not a lot of people did show up.

This morning is going to happen a solar eclipse over Europe, make sure to watch it. Protect your eyes!

Lucky! I'll be here...not protecting my eyes from my laptop screen instead.

I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled out for it.
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I would love to watch it and protect my eyes, I will go do that right now...
Oh yeah, one problem, I live in the US.
Oh well, I am sure there will be one here eventually. At least it is the first day of spring, I can go outside and have fun...
Oh, wait, it's snowing...
I guess I can't do either of those things.
It is also very weird when I am in my Grandfather's house now, I still expect in my mind to see my Grandma there, and then it seems empty when I go there. Amazing how someone dying can change you though, I try to talk more around my grandfather, and now I hug him every time I see him instead of just shaking his hand.

Since its almost April, it looks like its almost time for street sweeping to start up again. All the cars in the driveway!
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I visit a town every year, and the town is very historic. It is where oil was first drilled. There is a building that has been there since the 1800s, and it was great. The restaurant/brewery in it had great Root beer. Then 2 days ago it caught on fire.
It is sad, and it will be closed for a while, but the good news is that the building won't be knocked down. It is going to reopen in the same location, and no one was hurt in the fire.

You can have a look here http://www.calsky.com - when you put in your coordinates, you can check for a lot of stuff, next solar eclipses, visibilities of the ISS, reflextions on Iridium satelites, and much more.dtlux1 wrote:Oh well, I am sure there will be one here eventually. They also have an email information system, if you're interested in the ISS, you can get daily (or weekly) emails with possibilities to observate it.

Well its good to know that a historic building won't be knocked down then.
I'm questioning why we have generic Pepto-Bismol in the medicine cabinet that expired back in 2007! The pharmacy that we got it from (Brooks) has been defunct and turned into Rite-Aid!

We have very little medicine in there because we don't really use a lot of it.
Most of the stuff that is in there is hair products that either my mother or my sisters use.

Please don't do that, medications are the one thing you never want to tempt fate with if they expired. Some could be harmless, but it is best not to risk that.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Admittedly I am SO tempted to try some but I don't wanna poison myself. X_X

First dissolve them in something different to make sure they're harmless. Like whiskey.
No, seriously, don't do that. Not ever.

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
The proper way to dispose of expired medication is to take them to your local pharmacy who will do it safely and at no charge to you. Please don't go dissolving them in anything as this could create dangerous chemical reactions and definitely don't take any expired medications as this could prove ineffective at best and at worst, fatal.
On that sombre warning I suggest we discuss something safer.
Does anyone here like dancing? I enjoy singing and dancing in the mirror although I'm terrible at both and I've never had any formal training aside from my school's attempt to teach us a couple of ballroom dances in PE (gym class, I think you call it in America).

I took ballroom dancing in college - I quite enjoyed it. I also tagged along with my parents to a ballroom dancing class when I was younger - it really helped prepare me for the college class.

I was wondering when that would be brought up, I need more blackmail for... things.
I still have every message in my inbox from when I said something that wasn't exactly for the forums...
I did take singing lessons for a while, I am not currently taking them but I plan to start again in the future. I am good at singing.
I have also been in a school musical every year since sixth grade, so I am good at dancing if I have practice. I actually have musical practice after school today.

Unless you count that thing I did once that the other guy found out about later but they didn't say anything and then I did another thing not related to that thing but it kinda was and it's still a thing now.
Maybe that wasn't specific enough.

No Jeff that was all the info I needed. I now know what you did and with that. I do expect my demands met. What demands you may ask? Well about right now you should receive a box in the mail, inside is a DVD with the demands.

When I first heard I'm Yours - Jason Mraz, I went 'huh, I want to sing that'. After lots of shower singing and even a choir class I've come to enjoy singing near almost every day, usually still in the shower though. I like to sing stuff like Moon River, or SomeoneHlaoroo wrote: Does anyone here like dancing? Like You, sometimes stuff from various fandoms, among other things. It's fun.

it's gym in High School and middle School. but it's still PE in Elementary school. At least at mine.Hlaoroo wrote:PE (gym class, I think you call it in America).
I wasn't too timid, I just outright refused to dance (I felt ridiculous when PE made me do the cha cha slide... the Macaren was alright) and I don;t really care that I can't dance.Sleet wrote:I was always too timid to sing or dance, but now I wish I was better at them. -_-'
singing, however, I wish I could do better. I love a capella music. but there's a reason I took band instead of chorus (also I didn't want to be forced to sing ridiculous songs in middle school. high school choir may have been alright.)
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
Most of the stuff sung, at least in my choir was elvis or beatles stuff. A song by Bruno Mars, another being What a Wonderful World. Most of the stuff was something that was likely heard by everyone multiple times. The choir director tried to have us sing stuff we would actually like.

I was in the choir back in primary school. I actually got to sing for John Howard, the then Prime Minister of Australia!
Our music teacher back then picked songs that she probably grew up with that she considered age-appropriate and fun. Things like "On A Wonderful Day Like Today", What A Mouth, Gimme Dat Ding, Star Trekkin', Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour?, I Got Rhythm, a variety of ABBA tracks... You get the picture. I still love a lot of that music! We also had an "instrumental group" which was basically just a xylophone ensemble. That was fun too. ^^

I sang choir back in 4th grade. Stopped and switched to band in 5th. Senior year of High School now and I didn't do band because I thought I'd still have a job. I don't and I regret every moment of it.

I was basically raised to be an actor. I did all the usual sorts of plays and musicals in elementary school and took acting classes over summer vacations. I did puppet shows and made my own radio plays for fun. I volunteered to read aloud in class and took drama in high school. I took voice and diction classes in college. I kinda suck at singing, though.
I don't really get embarrassed as long as there's an audience.

Ah, I remember dancing during PE way back in Elementary school...
I hated it.
I would've rather been throwing foam-rubber balls at peoples heads.
Dodge-ball teaches you something, unlike dancing. Things such as how to treat a bloody nose, also how to dodge.
I liked music class in Elementary school. We'd sing songs from "The Sound of Music" and some Woody Guthrie, and some others.
We also learned about The Beach Boys, Beatles, and Elvis.
Fun Fact: in High school I had a teacher who'd tell stories about the time she hung out with Jim Morrison backstage, and went to a party with The Grateful Dead.

Out of all of the things I've ever done in Gym (it was always called Gym for me, no matter what grade/school I was in), dancing was never one of them. *Shrugs*
I do enjoy singing and I think I'd be rather good at it so long as the song is one my voice can actually do.

I remember one year my mom was a pianist for a children's choir. I had to go with her, and she made me work on my homework - and the practices were long. In order to get out of doing my homework, I joined the choir.
I have a pretty good singing voice if I don't say so myself. ^^

I used to like gym a lot, but my High School doesn't have it as a class outside of 9th grade, as we are in the middle of the city and have to go to the YMCA for gym. I loved when we had gym recess in Middle School. There were mats on the sides that we would climb on and tackle each other off of.
With my weird personality I am surprised I haven't broken into dance in public more. I usually act really weird when I am at an amusement park where I won't see anyone there again.
In summer 2013 I went to one and said Happy Birthday to at least 200 people. It was weird that the very last person I said it to going out of the park had their birthday that day. They were freaked out that I knew it was their birthday.
