Jump by Van Halen is easy on all instruments outside the solo. But the solo is... well, hard xD On both guitar and keyboard.
Other simple songs on keyboard I know: I'll Wait (Van Halen), Mr. Crowley (Ozzy Osbourne), Perry Mason (Also Ozzy) and... yeah. That's all. Deep Purple uses a lot of keyboard, but they're not really simple.

But seriously, no Dragonforce.
Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
I'm OK with Dragonforce. Heck, they're not THAT bad as everyone is saying. But they're not really too good, either. Somewhere in the middle.

Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
When you play music like that, it's pretty much a given you're going to be sloppy live.
I don't really mind. They're entertaining, and that's what matters as long as you don't pretend like they're anything more than just that.

I didn't say their live shows are good - on the contrary, they are bad. I just said that they're music isn't as bad as people say. I can listen to them, although there are much better bands I listen to....

Tuba, keyboard, bass guitar, trombone, euphonium, recorder, and singing.
I'm not kidding.
Mainly tuba and bass guitar, though.

That's pretty awesome. If you're in high school, do you play in the band?notthatlol wrote:Tuba, keyboard, bass guitar, trombone, euphonium, recorder, and singing.

What, you have to be in high school to be in band?
'cause yeah, I play in my school's concert band and their jazz band.
Unbelievably, we don't suck.

That's pretty cool. You should come to my college when you graduate. Our jazz band has a dire shortage of brass.
I play the bass too, by the way.

Usually high school comes to mind with band. I didn't/don't know your age, so I didn't know. The age of people on this forum varies greatly.notthatlol wrote:What, you have to be in high school to be in band?

If I asked if you were in middle school, and you were old enough to be in college, that'd be pretty bad. So I said high school, it's sort-of safer ground, and the first thing that came to my mind. My bad. D:

Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
well, i haven't touched a piano in about three years, not counting the four-ish times i sat down and just pressed the keys for kicks, but there's that.
i just started cello again, after two years of not playing,
i think i can play trombone- maybe. it's been a long time.
i can, and hopefully soon, will be, playing euphonium. because of this, i can also play baritone, and a couple other bass, valved insstruments.
so there's the list, not that there are many i actually am playing at the moment.

I keep hoping an orchestra breaks out, based on this thread. It's silly, I know.

Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
I personally am not very good at playing an instrument, but I have been told I can sing rather well with the right melody that is. Though I regret to tell you it is doubtful you will ever get to hear me, I have very little pride in myself so I don't have much confidence in my abilities so I have only perfomed twice in my life, both times I was terrified and holding back tears.

I disagree. Linkin Park's "The Catalyst" is far easier than that.Onlythebassist wrote:Like The Final Countdown? It's got to be the simplest jingle in the world!Medli wrote:I own a keyboard but due to lacking notes and talent, I only can do the simplest melodies.
I'm thinking about getting an electronic keyboard so I can record some beats, perhaps even adding my voice. My poetry could use some recognition.
Two models I've been looking at are the Casio WK-500, the Casio CTK-5000 as well as some Yamahas (specifically the Yamaha PSR-E423). Which one do you think is best?
Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
Alto Saxophone.
I could also probably play the Tenor and Baritone, but I've never tried.
And I guess I could play piano, but only by memory of the notes I play on Saxophone.

there is no such thing as luck. if there was, there would surely be at least one person with all of it, and nothing bad would happen to them ever. but as far as I can tell, bad things happen to everyone.

If you like those keyboards you should actually try out the Korg M50 keyboard workstation. Really good keyboard/sequencer.Anthroguy101 wrote: Two models I've been looking at are the Casio WK-500, the Casio CTK-5000 as well as some Yamahas (specifically the Yamaha PSR-E423). I am getting a Casio CTK-5000. Should be here before the week is done. I can't wait to play it. Now if only I had a microphone.

Neato! My first keyboard was a Casio WK-110, which has more keys (76) but is otherwise not as good as that.

One of the reasons I got this keyboard was because it had the noises I was looking for. It's the best piano I could find at Best Buy, so I got it on Amazon. I've already written a few poems that I hope to make music off of. I can already play most things by ear.

Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
That's pretty cool. I still can't play by ear very well. I'm a complete by-the-books player, and I've been trying to change that. I've gotten a bit better at improvising, but I still have a way to go.
I didn't buy this one for the sound; I bought it for the feel, since it had a big keyboard and weighted keys. I figured nothing in the price range would sound as good as I'd want, so I might as well not worry about it. The third keyboard I buy, whenever I buy it, will probably be a higher-quality keyboard more focused on accurately sounding like specific instruments than on true synthesis, which is what my second keyboard does.

Re: What Instrument(s) Do You Play?
A Nord Lead 2X. It only does analog synthesis, so it does a terrible job of sounding like a piano or any real instrument, so it doesn't replace my first one (plus it only has 49 keys). But it's absolutely fantastic at what it's supposed to do, so I actually have them both set up together, one on top of the other.
