Well folks, DotA 2. not sure if I'm excited yet, but Valve is making the next DotA game.

thoughts anyone?

I really enjoy LoL though I swear people at my ELO are incredibly dumb. I'm upset that Valve attempted to trademark DotA since there is much in the way of prior art and usage. I look forward to trying it, but I'll probably stick to LoL.

It was originally a mod, or a map in Warcraft III.

Real-time Strategy.

Basically, you control a hero, you're max of 5 in a team, you're aiming to kill the opponents base! :3

Its a team based multiplayer RPG based off of a Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the Ancients. It has a very distinct gameplay. I find it very different from anything I had played previously. It's fun if you know what you are doing. Knowing who does what and having a good team composition is very important at higher levels. It'll be interesting to see how Valve will do the matchmaking.

I will probably keep an eye on DotA 2... But I am not that exited.

It is fun... However, DotA being... Pride-centric kind of turns me away... >_<

LoL was too uber serious to me, so I doubt I'll be liking DOTA 2.

Personally I want more original content out of Valve. We have too many mods turned into sequels with shiny graphics and steam support. I want the next figurative HL.

And the next literal one? :3
