Sorrow! My dog's <Roana's> leg was literally just run over by a family friend. It was an accident so I forgive but still, Roans is in a complete shock right now and on her way to the vets as I wright this.

I hope she'll be okay.

We think it was only her leg, so yes Doug, and tsMKG she'll survive regardless, but seeing where she broke it <at the joint>, is not good, she may not keep her leg if it doesn't heal properly. But, outside that range I think she'll be okay. Besides I haven't received word from the vet yet as she just broke it a few hours ago. She is in allot of pain tho, and I can tell.

Just got word while writing this, she is in a special splint and should be okay to live at home for a while, but my previous statements still hold their weight.

Even if she does lose the leg she'll be absolutely fine, UNP. Many, many dogs get around every day with just three legs with no problems.

She's lucky. It could have been a lot worse. I'm sure you'll help her get through this quickly!

Just had my final update, Roana won't be coming home. She has been having severe hip problems lately, and won't make it either way. I think I'll go jump off the bridge close to that old girl scout tavern now...

We've had her since I was four years old, now we have to put her down.

I'm so sorry to hear that, UNP. I know from personal experience how hard it is to lose a much-loved pet unexpectedly.
Don't go jumping off any bridges though. Roana wouldn't want that. She's had a good, long life and she knows you love her and want the best for her and she only wants the best for you in return. Just remember that she loves you.

I'm really sorry to hear that, UNP.
Just remember the good times and be thankful you're going to get a chance to say goodbye. I'd say I'd be here if you need to talk, but I'm in the final stretch to graduation. But I'm sure there are plenty of other people here who are willing and able to do what they can to help you through this.

I just read the thread, and my condolences to you and your family. Now, I'm sure she's up there just happy that you stay down here for a bit till fate runs its course you know?

Sorrow: My mum's cat gave birth again. I list this as a sorrow because we already have 3 kittens 5 months old, and maintaining 4 cats has been really heavy on our food budget, so much so that we ran out a week earlier, and have to ration our foods a bit till my mum's next paycheck. Then there's the question of whether the queen might attack the older kittens to protect the young, which I hope doesn't happen because I worked hard to raise them this far. This is the first batch out of seven that survived for more than 5 months

*sigh* I wish the cost of spaying in this country is cheaper...

I wish I could help you out with the cost somehow. Perhaps you could sell commissions to raise money? You're definitely a good enough artist for that.

Hlaroo is probably right about that part, but sadly art takes allot of time, and isn't well payed. I am terrible with finance but I do know that much. Then again they're always other things you could do, like hold a dinner or something right?

Joy: I've been made admin of the facebook page for Tasmanian furries. It's a lot of responsibility but I'm looking forward to organising regular meets and bringing together the Tasmanian furry community. ^^

Actually, it is, but I couldn't convince my mum of that fact, especially taking into consideration that we'll have to take care of the queen after the surgery. And all our cats are female (barring the newborn, two of them, which we don't know yet).

The commissions... yeah, after all that I said last year, I just don't think I like taking money from people for my art. As of now. Maybe that will change, but I don't know. We'll think of something, me and my family. We always do, no matter how terrible our cards of life are

UNP, sorry to hear about your dog. I got time to talk after work if you are up for it.

Regarding the cats, Kuro: some ways to deal with cats if budget is low i find is feeding them some leftover cooked food. i'm always advised against it since pets gets clingy when you do, and I learned that the hard way. But it does keep them from starving. X3

Massive sorrow:
At about 3:00 today I entered my dad's apartment and found no life inside.

Nothing but fleas, trampling all over the body of my beloved cat, Lily.

I didn't even know until this morning... That she was sick. And now she's dead. I didn't even get to say goodbye...

Update/Sorrow: We just took Lily to the crematorium. Her ashes are gonna be spread over some apple orchard somewhere. Not one of them will come back to us.

This is the last picture ever to be taken of her.

I wish I could have seen her one last time, but now it's far too late. The last time I ever saw my cats body will be stained by fleas. I can't fathom how disgusted that makes me feel.

Hmm, the cats are already clingy when it comes to eating, so it's a little too late. Plus we rarely eat anything that's suitable for cats: spicy foods, food with lots of onions, sauces etc etc. I give them dried whitebait, canned sardines or the usual cat food (both dry and wet).

Meh: Turns out my mum didn't like the new phone, so we switched back. The data transfer between the two phones and the settings took like 3 hours.

Meh: Turns out there's four newborn kittens, we didn't notice the other two. So if everyone stays alive, we would have 8 cats =w=
