James made it to the hares and told them of what was happening with him and trevor joining. The hares only agreed seeing the advantage in the rangers help. Trevor smiled under his cloak,"james and i will be there as well, youll be fine you two. But the matter of birds is no laughing matter as they attack from above."trevor said

"Ex-Excellent," Peter said, swallowing his butterflies. "I'd better go get my sling and stones c...cause I won't want you hurt either, Charles." He gave a curt little bow to Trevor. "I...I'll be back in the hall in five minutes, Sir, Charles." He patted Charles reassuringly on the shoulder and headed for his room quickly.

"Wond'r where 'e's off to at a pace?" Owain wondered aloud as Peter raced past.

"Ah. Floor. Right." Brum watches Peter sprint past.
"I've no idea. Probably playing a game of some sort or perhaps he's due to ring the bells but has to do something else first and doesn't want to be late." she shrugs, thinking nothing of it.
"Are your footpaws still bothering you?" she queries, seeing Owain tapping his bandages.
==========
Having issued a few orders while he finishes his breakfast, Brock strolls out onto the lawn to see his battalion of forty hares ready, armed and waiting. As the Brigadier sees Brock's arrival, he bawls some orders and the hares snap to attention and greet their lord with a brief but powerful "EULALIAAAA!" After ordering them to be at ease and as they were, the Brigadier hands Brock his arms and armour and the Badger prepares himself while they wait for Charles and Peter.

"Not so much," Owain admitted, taking his fingers off his feet. "Scars don' heal ov'rnight, y' jus' get more used t'them."

Peter returned to his room, rooted about in his drawers for his Slingshot - or Katty as he called it - and returned to the main hall with it in his pocket. "I'll get some stones in the courtyard," he announced as he entered and walked quickly back to Charles' side.

Charles smiled at Peter before heading outside.
40 hares was a lot of hares. To top it off, one badger lord getting ready to search as well.
Lord Brock! Charles greeted as he approached.
I brought the beasts who saved me. They were concious while I was out, so they'll know where to walk. Then we can start the search from there. Charles said.

Re: Redwall
Peter stepped out and did his best to gather some good stones. It helped him not look at the gate. It helped him to avoid the flock of butterflies in his stomach as he saw it and the division of Hares ready to go through the gate to the outside. With him. He'd heard of the wonders out there of course but... the dangers too... But... he had to go and he suched down some of his nerves. He imagined he still looked afraid as he walked back to the group, putting the stones in his pocket and hoping his voice wasn't trembling. "R-ready," he swallowed.

Calder had been listening to the conversations around, he wish he could help with the others with the bird problems. But he didn't have the skill and the Badger Lord would have the problem under control.

"Lord Brock" Trevor said with a small bow. James walked up with a group of hares, the two spoke quietly between hoods before leading on the group of everyone searching. "we ask if trouble does come for silence, and patience. we don know if well run into anything handy to our search" James said, Trevor went to charles and handed him a small cloak like that of his own. "here, this will help you hide. And if your interested maybe i can teach you to become a ranger like i am with james" Trevor said

Seeing that Evelyn has already finished breakfast and left the hall, Brum turns back to the others. "We'll stop at the infirmary and get Evelyn to check your paws on the way to the library then. How are you going, Sara? Need any more food? Have you washed your paws this time, Calder? You know how cross Old Arthur was last time you got sooty smudges on our books."

"Ah. Thank you, Charles. That will be very useful. I spoke with one of you two last night, didn't I?" queries Brock of James and Trevor. "Which of you was it? I can't tell under those cloaks."

Clader laughed remembering the time he didn't wash his paws and read a book. He had to clean every inch of the library. "Oh, I do remember Brum. This time my paws are nice and clean. Though I wouldn't mind cleaning the library again I am sure."

"Heh. Well you're welcome to any time you like. It needs another dusting. I've never seen it as clean as it was when you finished with it last time." teases Brum.
"Yes, of course! Please do!" Brum answers the vixen.
"True, she does... Well, do you want to stop there on the way down again then, Owain?" Brum gets to her paws.
"Shall we head up then?" she queries, leading the way to the staircase.
==========
On the lawn, a couple of cooks pass large canvas bags of rations including fresh breads and cheeses to the hares before offering a bag each to Trevor and James so that they, Brock, Charles and Peter will get at least some food when they break either for lunch or morning tea, depending on how the morning goes. The brigadier confirms to Brock that the hares are ready to go so the badger turns to the motley crew accompanying his battalion.
"Are you all ready to go?" he queries before gesturing to two hares standing casually by his side.
"These are Sergeant Tammson and Corporal Biff. We call Biff Biff because he's a champion boxer but Tamm here is almost as good. They'll be your guards for this trip so stick to them like glue, okay?" he half tells, half orders Peter and Charles as the hares toss the pair cheery salutes at the mention of their names.

Re: Redwall
Seeing the mouse's pain, Brum takes his other arm.
"I've got the perfect armchair in the library for you and a pawrest to go with it. You can rest there while I do my research." The squirrel leads the small group up the stairs to the library in the attic. Unfortunately the armchair is already occupied by an elderly squirrel whose head lolls to the side as he snores quietly. A scroll lies partly unrolled across the floor where it's slipped from his paw and his habit and face are smeared with dust, though you're hard pressed to see it against the fur, silvered with age. This is Old Brother Arthur, Brum's mentor and predecessor, and one of the eldest, wisest and most respected creatures in the abbey. Unfortunately he's seen better days and, as tends to happen to elderly creatures, increasingly finds that his wits are no longer about him.
Tiptoeing to the squirrel, Brum shakes his arm gently as he's asked her to do in times like this.
"Brother Arthur? It's me, Brum. It's time to wake up."
"What? Harrum, ahem, aHEM." The squirrel noisily clears his throat as he wakes, slightly disoriented. Sliding his crystal spectacles up his nose, he peers through their coating of dust as Brum pushes open the shutters, letting sunlight into the room.
"Brumble? That you? Did you finish copying that parchment already? Ah, I see, you did but why did you leave it on the floor? Shame on you, it'll get ruined down there." The ancient creature groans as his failing joints protest as he bends down, retrieving the scroll from the floor and rolling it up carefully.
"No, wait, that was yesterday, wasn't it? I was just admiring your calligraphy but dear me, I must have dozed off again. My apologies. What time is it, Brumble? We don't want to miss the feast."
"We already had the feast last night, Brother Arthur. I sang the lullaby Mum used to sing, remember? It's just gone nine in the morning now."
"Oh? Yes. Quite right, quite right. You did admirably well, admirably well. Do excuse me. I think I fancy a spot of breakfast. I hope they've baked some of that nut bread this morning. I'm quite partial to it."
"Yes, they did. You'd better get some before the hares take it all."
"Harrumph. They have another think coming if they think they can eat my nut bread." grumps the squirrel good naturedly before shuffling towards the doorway.
"Ah. Young Calder. Come to tidy up again, have you? I hope your paws are clean this time." Old Arthur winks at the lad before slowly making his way down the stairs.
"Well... Now you've met Old Brother Arthur." Brum observes after the squirrel is out of earshot.
"He's lovely really. He just pretends to be a bit grumpy sometimes. His mind isn't all there any more, poor thing. He still knows where every single book and scroll is up here though. Nobeast knows our records or the abbey's history like him... Feel free to sit down and put your paws up, Owain. Let's see if I can find where I read about the sword..." Brum moves towards one of the shelves and begins scanning the writing on the spines of the books and the covers of the scrolls, occasionally pulling one out and reading a few words or paragraphs before shaking her head, dissatisfied, and slotting them back into place.
==========
"Tamm. It's a pleasure." The hare, deciding to be more informal and win the mouse's trust, offers him his paw.
"I was sorry to hear about your family. I promise you we'll do our utmost to get them back for you."
"Corporal Biff, atcha service, dontcha know? Don't look so nervous, you'll be perfectly safe with the Long Patrol's champion kick-boxer lookin' out for you, wot?" The large hare enthusiastically shakes the vole's paw with a firm grip.
After confirming that everybody is ready, Brock gives the order to move out and leads the column of hares moves out through the gate.
"Which direction do we go, you two? I'm sorry but your names have slipped my mind." he asks the rangers.

"Sara, it was a book about Martins Sword, I was hoping to read it and learn from it, for Smithing."
Calder looked around the room "So Brum, do you remember what it might be called? I don't remember ever seeing a book on Martins Sword before."

"Thank y', Brum, Cald'r," Owain said as they assisted him to the chair. He wasn't exactly used to being the recipient of help but needs must as the Devil stung the paws and he sat in the chair vacated by a warm Squirrel. Peter could feel the butterflies taking flight as they approached the gate and he busied himself with affixing the borrowed cloak to try and convinced his stomach that nothing was wrong. He almost faltered but glanced at Charles and steeled his will. He wasn't going to let his friend down. Still he almost closed his eyes with fear as they passed through the gate into the known unknown. Odd, he thought, it didn't feel much different...

We will enter the forest....well head towards salamandstron and use the openings within the forest on the way to noonvale. once on our way we will head to where we saw the attacked remains of charles's group" Trevor said pointing out the direction before leading the hares. "also try to keep together. These woods are sometimes really easy to get lost in" trevor added before continuing his steady pace of walk

Re: Redwall
Charles walked next to Peter and held his paw as they walked.
We'll be okay. he said.
((I found Charles' color again!))

Re: Redwall
Peter took strength from the contact and did his best to stop glancing around at every sound as he gripped Charles' paw back. "I know," he replied, "What can beat all these Hares and your Ranging friends and us?"

Owain looked around the room in awe. "Quite a llyfrgell y'ave 'ere, Brum," he said. "I'll have t' learn t' read the' language now." He watched Brum show her athletisism on the shelves.

It seemed so warm outside to Peter as he kept hold of Charles' paw - to reassure Charles, of course - and he kept a jerking eye out for movement in the surrounding trees and undergrowth.

Charles also kept an eye out on his left, but quickened his pace to catch up with the badger lord.
Lord Brock, we were leaving a small little town called Mossbank or something when we were attacked. But we should check the sight where we last saw Grandfather first, since its closer. Charles said.
