Midnight came and announced itself with a beeping that Corp thought was in his head for the first few seconds until he came to on his bed. Shaking his head to clear the dust, he stepped across the Spartan steel room and answered his comm to see the Captain apologising for the hour. She'd received a priority command from central control and had some instructions for him. By the end of the conversation he was very concerned and a bit scared. "C-computer," he said before controlling his nerves, "cancel the drill. Schedule, uh, a meeting of senior officers for 0730. And, uh, Mayotte and Stephens too." He sat and pulled himself a whisky. "Crepe," he said.

Colorado turned over in his onto his chest, snoring lightly in short breaths. He coughed a bit and pushed himself back onto his back, looking at the clock as he rolled over, he chuckled and rubs his eyes, "2 AM? Man, I've only been asleep for a few hours." He lifted an eyebrow at the alarm icon flashing dimly on it, "I don't remember setting that... Who...?" He opened it and read the message along with it, "Senior officer meeting at 0730. Fantastic... absolutely fantastic..." He sighed and closed his eyes to try and get a bit more sleep.

Barry opened his eyes and found the ship had been turned upside down. Really it was him who was upside down, while reading he must have dosed off and wound up slipping off the window sill. This was a good indication that perhaps he should go and sleep in a proper bed.
Once he got to his sleeping quarters he noticed someone else in the room, asleep. His mind took a moment to realize that he did have roommates, it would be best to not wake them. He stumbled around in the dark, stubbing his paw on his own pack, holding his paw to his mouth he tied to quiet the growling whine he was making.

A few minutes passed of him hopping on one paw and ramming the same paw into the bag again before reaching his bed. Finding the ear plugs he brought along, set the to play music and looked at his communicator, he did sleep quite a lot, it was 3am now. and in a few hours would be an important meeting, he set his clock to an hour before the meeting. then dozed off to classical music

Ash's heart skipped a beat when she was woken by footsteps and low growling. She reminded herself that she did have roommates and suppressed the urge to instinctively reach for her gun.

Colorado awoke with a bit of a start as the sound of his alarm invaded his dreams. He slid to the edge of his bed and stretched, standing up and going to his closet. He sifted through his clothes forgoing a shirt for a jacket and some jeans. He zipped up the jacket and headed down to the meeting room, snagging a lollipop from his drawer on the way out. A quick glance to his watch told him it was 7:00, 30 minutes early for the meeting.

Early morning, Corp had a wheat biscuit breakfast for the first time in seventeen days and readied the captain's room. He didn't think this was going to go over too well, his wearing the Captain's flash for however long. Being honest, it wasn't going over that well with him but orders were orders. And he had an idea of how to hit back at INSIGNIA whilst the Captain was away as well...

Colorado hobbled his way into the captains room, giving the figure in the captains uniform a salute and planting himself into a seat and his face onto a table, "We have about 20 minutes left until the meeting starts..." He leans back and yawns and stretches, groaning and pressing a paw to his side, "what's th-....Why are you wearing the captains uniform?" He lifts an eyebrow.

Kiara, who had said goodbye to Dan and Keeva last night and went to her room, woke up and yawned. She sat up in her bed and stretched a bit. She got out of bed and walked out of her room. Oh yeah. There's a meeting today. Kiara thought as she walked towards the captain's room. "Good morning everyone." she greeted once she got into the room.

Colorado turned his face on the table and stared at Kiara and laughed, "Computer messed up." He grinned at her in a friendly manner, "Meeting's for senior officers. I don't think petty officer falls under that, but I haven't brushed up on my rankings in a while. I don't think there'll be a problem if you stay. But that's up to Corp." He twists to look at Corp.

Barry woke up the next morning, dressed, ran to the cafeteria for some breakfast. Still a little tired from all the "excitement" of the day before, he went to the room where the meeting took place. After limping to a chair, Barry sat down beside Colorado, and greeted the room "Morning Chief, and everyone else."

Mayotte fell asleep in the security office, the night guards rolled his chair to a corner and worked around him, silently commenting on his laziness. He was woken by the alarm for the meeting, he hated these meetings, nothing really got done and nothing that wasn't known before was ever said. He made his way into the room and sat down, away from everyone and at the end of the table, opposite of Corp. He didn't speak until he noticed Barry, "Hey kid, get me some coffee?" he asked, Barry didn't look to pleased, probably had a long night. The doctor that he arrested also looked banged up, "What happned?" he thought; No one invited me to something big again? Well I was doing something far more important to bother anyway."
"Sorry sir, there isn't any left right now, some more will be made shortly though." Barry responded, Mayotte finally noticed the lack of a coffee pot in the center of the table. This was different, and wait, was the Chief wearing a captains uniform? Something might be wrong, where was the captain?
"That's fine kid, that's fine. I can wait." The coffee wasn't fresh on this ship anyway.

Ash did not sleep well. Usually, she would've woken up early, but by the time she was out of bed, her two roommates had disappeared. Considering that she wasn't on morning duty, Ash figured she'd have some time to unwind. Yeah, unwinding sounds good. Especially after yesterday's chaotic turn of events. Realising that she hadn't even fully settled in, the cat unloaded her pack and stored her possessions in the bedside compartment. A change of clothes later, Ash left the cabin and headed for the gym.

Colorado looked at Barry and tilted his to him in greeting, "Morning Barry." He puts his head back on the table smiling to himself at how it's still cold, "Kiara it's up to Corp if you stay or not. I imagine you'll still need to leave though. I'm not entirely sure how bad this news will be."

"I'll make an announcement on the comm soon," Corp announced to Kiara's back. He waited until the young engineer had left before starting to talk. "Things have changed," he announced. "Captain Walker has been called to account," he announced heavily, "for the actions of yesterday." he held up a hand to silence protest. "It's merely a show thing but, for all ccounts, we ranyesterday. From the enemy. They want someone to blame and, until she answers their questions in person, they'll continue to suspect her. She's gone to testify and Lieutenant Commander Walker has gone as her escort." He swallowed and took the Captain's seat. "Until she returns - and she WILL - I am in acting control of the ship." He turned to the normal 3rd officer of the bridge. "It's nothing against you, Grainger but you don't have the combat experience I do. But I'll still need you on the bridge for obvious reasons." He looked to Mayotte. "Mayotte, I need someone to cover for me as security chief and, gods help me, you're the one I have to put in the position. Rhonkar's better on the front line and you delegate well. So you have to do the least work but still..." he thumbed to Stephens. "He's your deputy." Next it was the turn of the tech chief. "I want the assault vehicles and mechs ready for use asap. Get on it. Any questions?" He knew there would be...

Colorado frowned, "That doesn't sound like such a problem. She just has to make it through all the interrogation's. I don't see how any reasonable commander with any form of experience would look down on someone who ran from an obviously bad situation." He leaned forward onto his elbows and placed his fingers together, "She'll make it out just fine. I wouldn't worry too much..."

After she had left the room, Kiara wandered around until she winded up at the gym. She saw a cat walking towards the gym. "Hello. I'm Kiara. What's your name?" she asked, walking towards the stranger and extending her paw.

Ash walked down the corridor, whistling tunelessly, when she was approached by the engineer cat. Ash stopped, cautiously eyeing the fellow feline. "Didn't we meet yesterday?" she said slowly, extending her own paw to receive the handshake. "Hm. I'm sure we did. You're Faeli, right? Kiara Faeli. That engineer with the wrench toy." She nonchalantly added before her partner could reply. "Well, you can call me Junior Lieutenant Serge. Or Ashleigh. That seems to be what everyone's been calling me now. Yep. Royal security guard and prison block mayor, at your service." Unnecessary airs give quite the impression.

Then, after a few brief moments of silence; "So, what brings you down here this fine morning?"

Corp couldn't quite believe his ears and what they weren't hearing. "Well," he said with a wry grin, "if there are no questions you need to attend to your duties. I have one or two plans in the fire that I'll inform people of as and when needed. Mayotte, I'll need five of the security officers for a team. I don't know four of them but have Lieutenant Serge attend here in twenty minutes." He looked around. "Last chance for questions."

Keeva woke with a start and wondered where she was. It didn't look like the cell. It looked... cleaner and with more clothes. It wasn't threatening though. It was almost... Were those stars outside the window? SPACESHIP! She was on a spaceship! She remembered now! She let herself remember before getting dressed and testing the door panel to see if it opened. Somewhere, food was calling to her nose so she followed it.

Mayotte was a bit astounded at the sudden promotions, Barry was speechless as well. "Oh, actually, what do you want the new deputy to be doing? Is Stevens my second in command? "

"yes, what changes for me duty wise? Or will you want to have Mayotte fill me in later" Barry quickly chimed in, he felt like Mayotte may try to unload work on him that was normally his, or perhaps by him more food.
"Also, what about our two insignia spy's? Surely the captain can use those two as some sort of leverage or something to prove it was a good idea to run right?" Barry wasn't always sure how the higher ups operated. He believed they would be happy in the captain for the capture of two spies.

Stephens will be a help in making sure your plans go through whilst you know he'll tell me if you're abusing things. and she could use the spies as leverage but, as she didn't have a group o cells, she couldn't take them with her. So they're with us for now."

"Understood captain. I will do better with this new honor. besides the one assignment, anything else you need?" Mayotte input some commands into his communicator, calling the officers for the task as well as Lieutenant Serge. Ordering them all to be there in twenty minutes. "I'm not sure if I want you with the team yet Barry, with how easily we were infiltrated last night I might have you perform a different task if Corp allows it." He looked over to Corp "Since you didn't ask for Stevens in the group, I was thinking of sending him to investigate how we had two spy's and those cloaked goons get on board. Perhaps interrogate one of the spies?"
Barry nodded, the tasks seemed fair, not as challenging or daunting as he thought. he had been in command of a squad before, but second to the chief of security, even if it was temporary. It felt a little different perhaps because it was security for a ship. He was up to the task of corse

Colorado smiled and stood up, grabbing his cane and shuffling his way to the door, "Alright, if that's all, see you 'round Corp, good luck Barry." He gives them both a short nod and heads out the door back to his office.

"I shall be off to this task then. If you need me I will be on the communicator. I will head to the cells first, have a chat with our friend the spy." Barry said as he went to the door.

"Good, update me when you are done, I will show you where to get the camera feeds. I Will be also working on making sure you are properly ranked in the system. That is, after I assign this task force." Mayotte began to send a memo to Serge about Stephen going to speak with the spy. Then waited for Serge.

Ash chomped down the last bit of doughnut and rushed towards the conference rooms. She stopped just outside and stood by the doors, straightening her uniform, waiting until the sounds of her heavy breathing subsided. Then, she put on a cheerful smile, replaced it with a solemn expression, and got ready to walk into the room. Her communicator bleeped a message. Too late for that. Maybe later.

The doors slid open and Ash found herself facing Corp and a well dressed canine who she assumed was Mayotte. She bid the chief good morning, nodded to the poodle, and went for a chair.

"Feel free to take a seat, Lieutenant," Corp said without a smile, tapping the insignia on his shoulders. "As you don't know, the Captain's been... called away for a bit and taken her son with her, leaving me in charge." He paused a moment. "I want things to be a... bit more military. Which means I want a response squad. Five security members backed by a couple of technicians." He passed over a pad with security details on it. "Your stats indicate you have leadership capabilities and your shooting scores mark you a little higher than Jasmine. Select your people Lieutenant. Select them quickly," he added darkly, "although mostly a response team, you have a mission later today. INSIGNIA hit us twice yesterday. I intend to bloody their nose today."

Taken aback by the urgency of the command, Ash gave Corp a quizzical look, glanced over at Mayotte, then down at the pad. "A team of five...so I choose four..." She laid back in her chair, her brow furrowed. "Not exactly the easy task, chief. I haven't been here long, don't know much about the skills of our personnel. Unless..."

A husky voice came from the back of the room, interrupting her train of though; "Serge?"
Ash turned her head to survey the room. There, at the other end of the table sat a tall canine, an Alaskan Klee Kai, male, in his early twenties. Ash raised an eyebrow.
"Rainer? Can't be. You swore you wouldn't. What are you doing here and what would your mother think?"
"Badly. Like I don't know that. But Ash, desperate times call for desperate measures. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. You know why I'm doing this.
"I know why and I don't approve. I know you want me to pick you and I'm not doing it."
"I don't need your approval. And I'm afraid you'll have to. You know of my skills, first-hand too. And c'mon, can't you sense the importance of all this. Does this all look like a relaxing vacation to you?"
Ash opened her mouth to object, but thought better of it. "Alright. Chief, I select Junior Lieutenant Branden Rainer here." But only because I'm reasonable.
The dog pumped his fist. "Yes! And you'll also select Jordan, who...
"I'm calling the picks here." Ash looked flustered. "I'll take Jasmine Rhonkar, and Junior Lieutenant Barry Stephens, if they're up for it. You are Mister Mayotte, am I right? Kindly contact Stephens and ask if he'd like to be on the team."
"You're still one short. As I was saying, you'll select Lieutenant Jordan Yip, you remember him, right? He's been transferred onto the STEELHAVEN from Vos yesterday, to replace that hospitalised guard."
Defeated, Ash wearily covered her eyes and gave Corp a thumb up.

Mayotte watched the exchange take place in front of him "Are you two going to work well together? I don't want this squad to suffer from past broken relationships or conflict of interest. Barry is a skilled hand to hand fighter as well, trained with close combat weaponry as well. Your team will be well rounded with your choices anyway." Mayotte looked at his list, "I want Barry to investigate our insignia spy, then he can join you for the cap's mission. I Will let them know, find your last member soon Serge and don't have be a person that will cause drama and compromise the teams success, or I will choose for you. He had not known the two Serge choose, Jasmine sounded familiar but Rainer was new, and the conversation he and Serge had made him nervous. Hopefully Stephens and Jasmine would help keep the peace. He sent a message to the two to come to the meeting room when they were done with their tasks.

"And I wonder what this is about," Rhonkar said, noting her comm going off as she did her morning situps. She got dressed and headed out to the Captain's cabin. She knocked and entered. "Goo..." She looked at the group and Corp the Captain and blinked. "Did I hit my head too hard?"
"No," Corp said shortly. "Long story short, I'm in charge for now. Mayotte's the new chief and Serge here needs you in a squad she's building."
"She does know I only work for the best, right?" Jasmine stepped in, then thumbed to Mayotte. "And him, apparently."

"Were close friends! Ya don't worry about us! We served in the same unit in the military during the fourth war, the black siege, and many other inter-galactical conflicts. Heck, we even graduated from the academy in the same year! But of course I could never out-spar Ash, she graduated top of the class, and I wasn't even second, or third, or fourth... but anyhoo, we make a great team. Did I tell you how we single handedly controlled the red revolution? And... and I'm boasting now, aren't I? But yeah, you get the point. We're A-okay, we work great together, the only problem is that she tells me off more than she should." Ash opened her mouth to argue, but was quickly interrupted. "And for good reason. But that's not gonna affect how we work, won't it? No, I didn't think so. So, Mayotte, thanks for offering, but I believe we have our five. Me, Ash, Jordan down in the hold, this Barry and...hello? I suppose you would be Jasmine. Welcome to the team! Now don't tell me you're a downer like our Ash here, hm?" Branden asked, sounding pretty pleased with himself.

Colorado laid on his back, holding his data pad above his head, doing what little work he had to do. Everyone from both the quick escape and the infiltrators has been released, medically at least. The downtime was nice, a bit boring but nice. He tossed the tablet onto the table next to him and shifted to the side of his bed, pushing himself up and grabbing his cane to go to the food court.

Mayotte nodded, "First and foremost, you will allow Serge to choose who she wants. If that is Jordan, then very well. Second I am glad that it won't be a problem, but keep my warning in the back of your mind. If the captain wants a more militaristic run ship. Then I have no qualms throwing anyone who doesn't listen to thier commanding leaders into the brig, or having you scrub the bridge with a small toothbrush. I hope you understand." he looked over to jasmine, "Thank you for coming, I know you only work with the best, that is why I am allowing you on. Now Branden, Stephens is new to steelhaven, he does have an excellent record however. I'm sure he will make a fine fit for the team. He at least obeys orders well, also is a skilled fighter so he won't be helpless. He also will be here in about twenty minutes I imagine. That is if he can question prisoners well."

"So," Jasmine asked, looking to Serge, "what's the squad, boss?" She pronounced the last word with a drawn out s to make a slight snaking sound. "And I've never met a down I didn't like, fella."
"OK, Jasmine, settle down," Corp mentioned. "You want to see the mission, Lieutenant?"

Ryan woke up forgetting why he was in a cell. As he woke up more, the memory of the previous day were not as foggy. He at least was safe from Jack. He was about to begin to stretch when he noticed a German Shepard outside his cell watching him. It was the dog that tried to stop him in the theater.
"Um, hello?"
The dog didn't say anything, he just glared at him.
"Can I help you with anything?" Ryan asked.
"You are with Insignia right?"
Ryan's ears and tail lowered, he started to cower and back into a corner."I don't want to be, they forced me to join I.."
"That's enough" The dog cut him off, "I want to know anything else you may have forgot yesterday in your interrogation. Such as names, how you and your comrade got not only on the ship, but knew your way around the ship, did you let anyone else onboard?"
Ryan did his best to remember "Jack mentioned a supplier once, he kept talking about an Oliver Mason or something like that, on our way to the station I heard him talking to his leader about hoping Alistair would keep his word and let us in. Jack told me to never ask questions about who was helping Insignia. The dogs face didn't show any change in expression, he didn't move besides crossing his arms. "We had uniforms in a crate, we dressed up and walked on board like the rest of the crew, no one questioned us. The only odd thing was Jack said he needed to go to the cargo bay and I had to wait. If anyone was let on board, it might have been then? maybe? I never saw anyone from insignia that I knew get on besides us two.
The dog smiled at the corner of his mouth. Ryan felt at ease a little, he didn't want to get hurt again and wanted to help them.
"Your cooperation will be noted, thank you." The dog said and then walked away. Ryan wasn't sure what was going on, best that maybe he didn't know. He found the tablet and began to read the book on there. War and Peace? maybe they are torturing me." he said to himself out loud.

Barry's questioning went well, or so he thought, he knew that the cell was probably bugged, it usually was, so Captain Davidstow could hear it all later. He sent his notes, any names, and anything else important to Mayotte and the captain to assess.
