Quint gave a quick nod before placing the grenade in the scanner. Once he was sure the scan had begun, he headed into the arena and walked over to join the rest of his team. ”Apologies for the wait. What kind of plan did you come up with while we were away?”

”Yes, but it never resulted in anything like this. So I’m not sure when I could’ve acquired him.....” Liz’ voice trailed off, as a look of realization spread across her face. ”It must’ve happened while I was unconscious. That’s the only timeframe I can think of that fits with your hypothesis.”

”Do you mind maybe standing in front of the cup for me?” Lewis asked in a cautious tone. I’d prefer having someone to catch it so it doesn’t shatter against the wall.”

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"These twa're still under mah protection," Sarah declared. "Ah may have nowt but ah'm stll goin' wi' 'em."
"Yes. That is why I gestured to all three of you. Follow me." He said, leading the three of them toward a testing area where he was working with the testers to prepare it for multiple types of tests.
Hlaoroo wrote:Cailean laughs, somewhat more loudly than he intends, a startling sound knifing through the tense atmosphere in the room.
"Corp an empath? Naow Ah ken yer lyin'! But Ah'll play yer game. Not like Ah hae a choice." he acquiesces, following Hivemind, paw in paw with Sarah.
Hivemind let out an exhausted sighing sound. "If I tell you your powers happen to be related to your personality or interests, I'm lying. If I tell you the powers people have gotten have nothing to do with or are opposite to their personalities, I'm ALSO lying. If people like their powers, I'm a psychic trickster. If people DON'T like their powers, I'm an ignorant trickster. You refuse to consider that I might be telling the truth so much, your arguments are starting to go against each other." They got to the testing stations. The first one was a large clear box made of a fire-proof, bullet-resistant clear material. Nothing was inside yet. There was a table of different objects, some flammable, some not. On the table opposite of it was one holding a basic computer on it. The tables are close enough together that it wouldn't split the brothers up.

"Whichever one of you is the pyro-kinetic, You're with me." A dragon-bird creature like the one before called out. He was standing by the large clear box and the table of objects.

A human stood next to the computer. "...and the one who can apparently summon digital things, you're over here with me." Hivemind translated what he said.

-------------------------------
Welsh Halfwit wrote:Hannabelle popped a Human females' shoulder back into place and released her 'victim' so she could use what was left of her shirt to apply a basic splint. "I suppose you need to trust me with bandages, Hive," she said without looking at any of the drones. "It's my undershirt next and I doubt I could cope with all the males THAT'LL lump me with!" She laughed. "I suppose working with the Champions would earn me major kudos with the Grandcubs. Lor' knows I could do with some."
Hivemind let out a short snort-like sound. One of the droids walked off to a different medical station. He returned, carrying a crate. Setting it down next to Hannabelle, he opened it up and handed her... another canister of some different non-toxic liquid something. "Liquid cast. Set the bone and apply this. It will harden in seconds and keep the injury supported. The cast dissolves when immersed in water of 28 degrees Celsius or higher. The chemical is also antiseptic and endothermic, so they will disinfect and reduce swelling. There are also slings in the crate."

Upon her mentioning her grandcubs, he replied "From what you told me, that sounds about right. I actually look forward to meeting them. They sound like good kids."

-------------------------------
Welsh Halfwit wrote:"S'pose I could," Jaken said, putting a tired grin on. "She might be a girl but she's as violent as a boy!" He held his stained arms up. "I better use a lotta soap," he said, wondering where to go to shower.
"Follow me. I'll show you a little secret." Hivemind led Jaken over to the nearest wall. It was just a plain old wall, but Hivemind faced it. He took his finger and drew an imaginary line in the shape of a door. An actual line appeared on the wall where he pointed. Once Hivemind was done drawing a full rectangle, he made a gesture, as if grabbing an invisible rope. He pulled, and the section of the wall dislodged and disintegrated. "Through here. We'll bypass the crowd and get you to the nearest restroom. Just down this way." He pointed along what were apparently maintenance tunnels hidden in the walls.
Buster wrote:After several minutes Epsilon had finished digging out the implants and set down the now stained tools next to the fragments. Part of her was slightly amused at the fact that the bone in her upper arm was visible now, pausing a moment to look over the damage before getting out the can and repeating what she had seen of the process Doctor Vanderbilt had performed when sealing it the first time.

I doubt I can do any more for now, at least not without access to equipment I know how to operate...

I hate waiting...

that only left finding a biohazard bin to dump the fragments into, and somewhere to wash her hands, the former of which was easy enough, the latter... it seemed she wasn't the only one looking for, so she decided just to follow the diminutive candid rescuer in question.
The wall was already starting to replace the missing section automatically. She would have to move fast to get through before the wall was fixed.

-------------------------------
Deske wrote:Chris clambered back into the pilots seat, "I think after they look at my arm, I'm gonna sleep until tomorrow night."
"Fair enough." MT said, letting Rika onto the maintenance platform on his back before carefully hovering through the door and onto the dock. "I would like to explore the ship when I get the chance." He opened the cockpit once more. "According to the messages I have been receiving, Steelhaven residents are required to get scanned before they enter the interior of the ship. I cannot fit in the scanner, but I also have diagnostics that would tell me if something had changed. You however should go through the tests."

-------------------------------
Buster wrote:"well... Father did make a joke about finding a Cah-see-no when we were painting auntie's casing... do you have one of those? what are they?"
Hivemind let out a laugh. "I bet he would like to take you to a casino. It's a place where people go to basically throw away their money and put themselves in debt on the chance that they will make even more money in luck-based games. We don't have one on the Beacon. I'm sorry to say you wouldn't be allowed to go to one anyway. First of all, it's because you're a day old and youth aren't allowed in. Second, your super-luck would be considered cheating and you could get into serious trouble. Anyway, we don't have a casino, but we do have arcades. They're places where you go to play games."

-------------------------------
Buster wrote:"WHY is this one full of shoes? THERE WASN'T A SHOE ROOM IN HERE TEN MINUTES AGO! AND WHY IS IT GREEN?!"
Solomon was laughing his head off in his dark room. Maybe he should give the intruder a little "break".

The light scuttling of the spider droids returned as two of the horrible things entered the room. One carried a basket, the other had an envelope. After the two backed him in a corner and just stood there harassing him for a bit, they put down their stuff and scuttled away. The basket contained some food, and the letter was a map to the nearest restroom and a promise that the next room wouldn't have any tricks.

"Do you want to step back inside the machine? See if you can turn into me? Or maybe you can just... will the change to happen?"

-------------------------------
Legotron123 wrote:”Do you mind maybe standing in front of the cup for me?” Lewis asked in a cautious tone. I’d prefer having someone to catch it so it doesn’t shatter against the wall.”
The alien complied and stood ready to catch the glass if he needed to.

"Welcome back, Quint," Jenny said, giving her paramours' current 'occupier' a genuine smile. "We're going to head for that building over there," she continued, indicating the building in the distance. "Ulrich keeps the target with him under shields with Kol providing close range protection if she's here whilst the rest of us break through the enemy forces in that direction. When we get to that building the enemy should only be coming at us from one general direction, not every direction. Ulrich, fly if you need to but you'll pull more in your direction that way, possibly faster than we can get to you."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, the GrandCubs are great," Hannabelle replied, taking some of the liquid cast stuff from the pack and getting it ready for use. "Far smarter than I've ever deserved, that's for sure. C'mon then," she told the waiting queue, "Whose next for treatment? Roll up for sniper nurse," she added quietly. "It's a fine way to spend the morning," she continued as a Foxhound strode confidently up. "I've had trouble with your sort before," she warned as he showed her his cut leg. "Try anything and I'll have you."
"Wouldn't dare," the patient replied as she treated him with some professionalism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Cool," Jaken breathed as the wall opened in front of him and he followed the drone through to the interior. "Um, someone's trying to come with us," he added as it began to 'close'.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm just waiting on the Captain," Corp told the Doppler Denver. "And I can feel her concern from here. I think."

”Sounds good.” Quint remarked. Does this plan of yours have a specific need for me or Kolt, or does it not matter which one of us is in control?”

”I’d like to try and figure out to change forms on my own, though I’d like to see my son and Corp first. Plus, I’d rather not experiment with these powers somewhere where everyone can see me if my pants fall off mid change.”

Once the tester was in position, Lewis tried to force the two items apart, trying to make it so they moved as slowly as possible. To his surprise and relief, it worked, and the two moved away from each at a speed comparable to a snail. ”Apparently I can control how much force is involved in their movement. That’s good. The potential applications of my power would be severely limited if the only setting was breakneck speed.”

Ulrich nodded, "Understood. I will stick to the ground as much as I can." He looked at the immobile target they were protecting, "I am glad he is a good listener."

----------

"Must've figured out her own power or she could just be panicking from losing her universe and her planet." He let out a sigh at the thought, "It's going to be a fun night tonight. You gonna need company? There are two of me now." He grinned to let Corp know that that last part was a joke.

----------

Colorado smiled and clasped one of her hands in his, "I've always been partial to the cold. But, I'm sure it will have some form of usefulness." He shrugged and nuzzled her cheek, "I wouldn't worry about it too much."

-----------

"Pretty sure you asking me to be your pilot is a superpower enough. Still, I'm curious to see what they've got on me. Maybe I can change the world." He said the last part with mock gusto, chuckling to himself, "Or maybe I can just keep being a mechanic."

Cailean is about to reply to Hivemind when he catches sight of his tester and the words die in his mouth. He blinks, rubs his eyes and blinks again, before walking over to his table as directed, glancing back to make sure Sarah is watching.
"A dragon. What's next?" he mutters as he takes his place.
"Sae, what dae Ah dae?" he says to the tester.

Conall obediently steps up towards the computer.
"Dae ye ken sign? Ah'm deaf." he signs to the human. By habit, he puffs his cheek slightly during the "deaf" sign which adds a cocky or proud connotation to the word, indicating that he's comfortable with his condition and doesn't really consider it a disability.

Sarah patted Conalls' arm so he looked at her. "Nae worries," she said, signing the same words for the laird. "Ah'll 'andle th' translatin' if'n that's OK wi' this fella," she added, glancing at the Human.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Don't tell Ensign Seena that," Corp advised with something that looked like a grin. "Oh, the choices..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seena rubbed cheeks with her beau and allowed him to push her where she needed to go.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'll let that up to you two to decide," Jenny told Quint. "but, if you do have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. And Ulrich? You might have to carry him..."

Tatiana nodded at Jemmy's suggestion, "Yeah, Considering he wouldn't run from a conga line of charging robots I wouldn't equate his movement skills to his hearing ones. Oh, and remember, there are sharp pitfalls in front of the defensive building, so, look out for that." Tatiana stood up and rolled her shell's joints, "But personally I would like at least a quick combat plan, beyond 'smack up the chargers first'. Personally, the light vehicles and heavy infantry are the biggest concerns right now, with the thanks being close second, what with their constant fire on me. Ah, I kinda miss speedy 'whatsername' she was drawing fire like a pro."

"Well," Jenny mused, "how are you at property damage? After we've gone by some of the buildings - and before they reach said building - someone could reduce them to rubble? If done quickly that'd slow the enemy down."

Denver raised an eyebrow, "Wouldn't dream of it. It'll just be our little secret. I see my optimism and happiness got to you quicker than usual though. I got a smile out of you faster."

--------

"I wonder if Hivemind has rooms set up for us. I'm kind of excited on the whole decorating aspect. Never got to do it on the ship aside from hanging stuff on the wall. I'll bet you've got a better eye for that stuff than me though," He wheeled her towards the rest of the group from the Steelhaven, stopping to ask a Hivedroid if there were rooms.

Hivemind apologized to the foxhound as he walked away to the testing areas. "Nice going." He said quietly to Hannabelle. "Way to make the victim of a tragedy feel welcome. If you want to work with the champions, you'll need to work on ridding yourself of prejudice. Especially since prejudice itself is one of our biggest enemies."

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Cool," Jaken breathed as the wall opened in front of him and he followed the drone through to the interior. "Um, someone's trying to come with us," he added as it began to 'close'.

Epsilon stated, her tone having returned to it's earlier flat state, as if she were reading numbers from a directory rather than stating a complaint.

she made no move to turn back.

Jaken did some calculations on his fingers and tutted. "You don't look a hundred and thirty" he miscalculated. "I was only going to the bathroom," he added, "I wasn't escaping the floor."

"You know I wish I'd met you forty years ago," Hannabelle told her 'chaperone' as she got her station in order, "You have the power needed to create a black and white universe beyond the cliché of grey. Trust me, dear soul, if I had anything against that individual I would not have treated him but I have lost a fair few friends to his breed over the years. To contemporaries on their side of the competition you might say? Sports does get competitive." She shrugged. "Fine, fine. If I see him later I'll apologise. Next!"

Sarah did have to ask the Human to slow down a couple of times so she could keep up with the signing but she got the message across to Conall.

"I don't see the Captain yet," Seena remarked, trying to keep her voice level, "but I DO see Davidstow and... is there something you want to tell me, love?"

"I'll be OK tonight," Corp decided, "provided I can find a decent bottle of..." He was cut off by Keevas' return with the hard drive and a bottle of scotch. "It survived," he asked rhetorically. "They were right about that safe being quakeproof. How'd you get it open?"
Keeva shrugged. "Computer lock," she said, "and the power's out."

Colorado stiffened slightly, "Oh, uh, yeah. So I did kind of find out what my power was. It's, uh, cloning. I'll... I'll introduce you." He angled their trajectory towards the group.

---------

"Power goes out and it becomes easier to get into. Secure." He noticed both himself and Seena heading and gave a small wave.

"Ri-ight," Seena remarked with a little hesitation. "You are the original, right?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'd complain if we were in the right universe," Corp said, feeling an emotional shift he'd only experienced once before as Denver waved at someone. "Either Doris and Andy are coming or it's you and Ensign Seena." He continued in a low tone. "Have you thought on what you're going to do for a girlfriend?"

she made no move to turn back.
"You know what? Fine. Fair enough. Follow along, and stay close. Don't touch anything. You're basically walking through my equivalent to arteries right now." He gestured for the two to follow him as they moved on.

Must be a pretty potent version of the power too, considering how quickly the scanner picked up on it."

Chris nodded, "Neat. Now how do I use it?
Does your machine tell you anything other than what it is and how powerful it is?"

Colorado kept walking, pushing the chair towards himself, Corp and now Keeva, "Yeah, I'm the original.
His eye is blue, mine is green. It's the quickest change we could think of to differentiate between the two of us."

Denver shook his head, "That's a good question that I don't know the answer to... I feel like it would be like cheating in my mind."

Hannabelle affected a wry grin as her queue tapered off a little. "I don't mean it in a bad way, Hive," she explained. "I would imagine that, as a government hit-vixen, a certain... ambiguity... has to come into things. To save a life - even hundreds of lives - you would often have to put someone in the crosshairs. They could be the most evil being on a planet or they could simply be an efficient military officer whose continued life might save dozens or hundreds of his own people. Problem is many of your people would be killed if he were to go on. So you enter the grey area because all you have is a rifle and the chance to save your own people. You convince yourself that the one life is worth taking because you don't have the power to save those they'd go on to kill. I...er, imagine." Her breathing was a little heavier now, weighted by emotion. "You have power enough that you can try everything else before lethal force and that tells you Lethal force is always wrong, no matter the impact. That, Hive my friend, is a black and white view. NEVER take it as an insult." She looked around. "Any chance of some tea before more customers find me?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Never wear glasses, love," Seena chuckled.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Should we tell the robot guy to prepare for illegal spacewalks," Keeva asked, not quite able to take her eyes of Colorado and his doppelganger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You might need to, Dopp...I mean Doc," Corp advised. "Won't be easy, seeing yourself with her." He sighed and thought that it was almost as hard as being without love. As a Feline suddenly turned towards him he cursed mentally and tried to stuff his thoughts full of obscene army songs.

Denver chuckled, "Maybe one or two," he said in reply to Keeva. His smile stayed on his face but to Corp or anyone looking close enough it was clearly fake. He kept smiling even as his ears lowered themselves over his head, "It's already not easy. I understand,
it's me. She's with the original me, but it's just... I don't even know..."

---------

"Wouldn't dream of it. I don't think they'd look good on me anyway." He looked ahead as he felt a wave of loneliness wash over him. Once they arrived at the group he began the short introduction. "Seena this is Denver."

"Hold on. Hey Hivemind?" He called out. The nearest hive droid walked toward him.

"Yes? How can I help?"

"The scanner says he has mechanical restoration abilities. Is there anything that needs fixing he can test it on? Besides the ship I mean?"

"Yeah, hold on." A second droid walked up, this one with a clearly broken arm. "You're a mechanic, right? This arm got mangled blocking some falling debris from hitting a havenite. I would suggest going through your normal process for inspecting and fixing a machine. I suspect that at some point during this process, you will figure out how to use your ability. If it's activated by touch, then I'll be fixed as soon as you start inspecting the arm. If it's by thought, then something will happen from you concentrating on the repair. Don't be afraid to experiment, and don't be afraid to mess up. I have many other bodies in case this one breaks." With that, the droid with the broken arm went into maintenance mode.

Hivemind was quiet for a while as he listened. When he spoke, he sounded sad. "I know what you are talking about more than you think. Believe it or not, there are cases where even I and my champions have been forced to take a life. Should the Beacon ever be backed into a corner, I have over ten billion people on board that I need to protect. The thing is, killing the threat isn't suddenly a good thing just because it avoids a worse thing. It's never "justified", though it's sometimes the only thing to do. If a champion kills someone to save the world, they must be commended for the lives they saved, but they must still take responsibility for the life that was lost. "I had no choice" is hardly conciliation to the person's family." He went quiet again.

finally he spoke up. "...Yes. I think that we can get some tea before more people show up."

"Definitely don't touch anything."Hivemind led the two down the tunnel until they came to a fork in the path. Instead of going in either direction, he drew another door in the wall straight ahead and pushed it out. "Alright. Jaken, the restroom is just down the hall to the right." He pointed to the restroom. Then he turned to the cyborg mustelid. "You're... Epsilon, right? You were looking for something to treat your injuries, right?"

"That's correct..." she states cautiously, her demeanor having shifted slightly. "How did you know my name? The only person I've identified myself to is the doctor, and with the state the bridge was in it's unlikely the ship's manifest has been recovered yet."

Chris nodded and gave the arm a thorough look over with his eyes first before reaching towards it to see if any of the parts were loose and to get a better feel for how broken it actually was. A few pieces fell off as he turned the arm over. "Sorry," he said with barely a glance upwards, "Honestly I could probably fix-," and as soon as he said the word 'fix' a small field of what looked like static electricity began to make its way from his hands to the arm. It even made its way to the pieces on the ground, lifting them up towards their place on the arm. He quickly pulled his hands back in a bit of shock, the pieces falling towards the floor again. "... It's either the word or the mindset. They're pretty related. Let's try this again. Fix," he said again, a bit apprehensively this time, but it worked. The field grew from his hands again to encompass the arm, focusing itself on parts that were badly broken first before moving to more superficial areas. Finally it seated the fallen pieces back into their places on the arm, fusing them together before disappearing, leaving Chris holding a newly repaired arm. He stared at the arm for a few seconds before looking back towards MT, "Guess I can still be a mechanic." He turned back to the HiveDroid, "You got anything bigger? I kind of want to see if there's a maximum size to this."

"When the Steelhaven entered the Beacon, and thus went in range of the hive relays, I was able to interface with the Steelhaven's computer systems and records. Well, what was left of them anyway. Anyway, I pulled files documenting the ship's passengers so I could tell who was there. The file with your name on it actually originated from a different ship's manifest, and shared a directory with a log file saying the Steelhaven picked up some passengers from a derelict prison ship. You said you had been in prison, that you spent a lot of time in cold sleep "waiting for rescue". This means to me you were from that ship. The file from the prison ship said there was a prisoner named Epsilon matching your description. In short, it took a lot of digging, but the info was there." Hivemind responded, a bit long-winded.

Chris followed Hive's eye's to the Steelhaven. He looked between the two for a second, "Oh can you?" He grinned and slowly made his way back to MT, "Yeah if you're okay with being my mode of transport for now. Don't want you feeling like just a cart."

”If you need us to do some collateral damage, Kolt would be better suited for this.” Quint said as he fiddled with the suits settings. ”This suit’s non-lethal mode is no good at causing physical damage, and I feel like I have spent enough controlling his body for one day.”

After putting on the gloves given to her, Liz made her way to the group by the door, and rather quickly spotted Corp. ”Ah, just the mouse I was looking for.” She said as she walked up to the group of three. ”Do you know if Lewis is done with the testing yet.”
”Just finished Captain.”
Liz turned around to find her son standing right behind her. ”Good. Now that you’re here, there’s something I want to ask all of you.” She said, pausing to let Lewis move in with the others. ”So, now that all of you have been through the testing, what kinda impression do you have of this whole scenario?”
Lewis was the first to speak up. ”I haven’t seen anything that suggests any of these people are anything other than what they say they are. However, I am acutely aware of the fact that, due to the fact that any money we might have is worthless in this dimension, if Hivemind asks us to work for him, we aren’t exactly going to be in any position to say no.”
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

Jaken, humming to himself, made his way into the washroom and began to clean his hands and arms. He tried to ignore the speckles of water from his eyes. Even faced with scenes like this, Celicans didn't cry. He was a hunter so he sniffed it up as the water began to stain pink from the blood and soap.

The mech hovered over the ship before landing on top of it and setting Chris down.

Hannabelle snorted. "You mean you're not waterproofed? I won't tell." She pointed to the SteelHaven as she sipped her hot drink and dunked a digestive biscuit (Grahame Cracker is the closest U.S. equivalent). "You gonna keep that," she asked. "Fix her up? Add another ship to your roster and become Admiral Hivemind?" Two bites and the biscuit was gone.

Chris settled into MT's arms as he was carried up to the ship, "It's pretty easy to treat you as a friend considering that you act like one. I just don't want this to feel like a one way relationship." He stood up on top of the ship and looked down, realizing just how high up he was. "Well..." He paused and crouched down so he could touch the ship, "Let's get to it. Fix." He said it more commanding this time as if he was more confident this time. It was quicker this time, the static flowing out and encompassing the ship, forming itself into missing parts and collecting the pieces that were broken. It was really fast. New pieces practically grew before the onlookers eyes, molding their exterior and interior to the shapes necessary to complete the ship. After a few minutes it was done. The completed Steelhaven sat in the hangar bay, looking just as it did the day it was first completed. Chris stood up and stretched, earning a few cracks from his back, "Did it work?"

----------

The two doctors gave a simultaneous wave at the Captain and Lewis.

Denver looked at the group, Glad to see the teams back together, he thought to himself.

Colorado looked over and raised his eyebrows in surprise. He'd heard that. He didn't say anything but he'd heard that. Same, he replied.

Hivemind was somewhat surprised how many people failed to catch on to the fact that the mind in the Hive was an organic one, but he wasn't going to correct them. "Yeah... No. I'll fix the ship, but it belongs to Captain Liz. However, I'm not against offering her a job. We could always use a good captain and another ship for trade, transport, and support."

From what I can see, you just repaired a starship in two minutes." He picked Chris up again and carried him back to the docks.

Cailean examines the objects, subtly sniffing them for any tricks. He picks up a spanner, weighing it in his paw, contemplates a wad of paper and then swaps it for a bar of soap, reasoning that if he can make that burn then he can make anything burn. He puts the soap in the box and then steps back and narrows his eyes, focusing on the soap.

BOOM!

The box shudders and fills with smoke and Cailean jumps in surprise.

Hannabelle boggled slightly. "OK," she said eventually as she looked on the portion of the Steelhaven visible to her, "forget 'fixing her up' and hire whoever did that as your Chief Engineer quick."

The last traces were the hardest to get out and Jaken had to scrub at them quite hard. The last traces still wouldn't stop and eventually he realised he was scrubbing a small cut. He stopped and put his arms into the dryer.

Chris chuckled, "The whole ship. Jeez, I can see why the scanner went off so quickly." He situated himself back into MT's arms for the ride back down, "I'm surprised I don't feel more tired. I feel like I should be tired but I'm just not."

--------

Denver and Colorado watched the ship repair it and it was almost all they could do to keep their jaws from dropping. "Wow," they said in unison.

Quint tapped a few buttons on the suit’s gauntlet to change it back to it’s default setting, before switching control back over to Kolt. The Concertian immediately began stretching to get used to his own body again, making some vaguely satisfied noises as he did so. ”Ah, it feels good to be back in control.” He said, sounding like he had just gotten home after a long trip overseas. Once he was done stretching, he turned to look over at Jenny. ”So, just to make sure I know what to do, which buildings do you want knocked down, and what do you want me to do when I’m done?”

Lewis and Liz were silent as they looked over the repaired Steelhaven, their faces containing a wide variety of emotions from confusion, to disbelief, to eventually realization. They turned to look at each other, gave a silent nod, and turned back to Hivemind. ”I think we’re just going to stand by the wall until whatever hallucinogens we somehow ingested wear off.”
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?

He picks up a spanner, weighing it in his paw, contemplates a wad of paper and then swaps it for a bar of soap, reasoning that if he can make that burn then he can make anything burn. He puts the soap in the box and then steps back and narrows his eyes, focusing on the soap.

BOOM!

The box shudders and fills with smoke and Cailean jumps in surprise.
The not-dragon jumped from the explosion. "Alright, so it's less making things burn and more making things go boom." He retrieved some gloves from a box of supplies nearby and gave them to Cailean. "I suggest you wear these for now. Once he is done with his tests, all of you can head to the group." He said, pointing at Conall.

Hlaoroo wrote:"Okay. Sae, haow dae Ah dae tha'?" Conall signs, looking between the screen and his translator.
"Oh... Uh... Honestly I'm not really sure. This is my first day doing this kind of thing..." the tester replied after what Conall said was translated. Hivemind stepped up and started signing to Conall. "These things can be mental or physical. You could try reaching into the screen and pulling the item out. Or you could focus on willing, say, the character's sword, into a physical existence."

"Cailean just discovered his power of making things blow up. He's fine."

Hivemind followed Lewis and Liz. "There are no hallucinogens. It seems one of your crew gained the power to fix mechanical objects by touching them. He's a mechanic named Chris. He and his mech partner by the name of MT-694 flew up to the top of the ship. Chris wanted to see if his power had any limits. The scanner reacted before he even stepped into it, meaning if he has an upper limit it's too high to matter." he said, attempting to explain what was happening, but probably failing to make anything make sense. "Would you two like to go see for yourselves? I need to let everyone into the interior of the Beacon soon."

"Everyone get into position now. Final call. We begin in five. Four. Three. Two. One. NOW!"

The simulation started up again. The civilian resumed panicking, and the enemy army resumed firing at where their targets used to be before realizing that the champions weren't there anymore. They took a moment to relocate their targets. Upon locating them, the army started closing the distance to get into new positions.

Summary:
56 light infantry remain. 14 have heavy weapons.
8 armored infantry remain. 4 have damaged miniguns and are using flamethrowers.
5 light vehicles remain.
6 tanks remain.
100 chargers remain.
Charger progress to civilian is 33%
3 turns until reinforcements.

"Ooh! It's starting! It's starting!" Recon exclaimed before rushing back to her front-row seat in a blur.

MT set Chris down on the docks. "I wonder how long you can keep it up for. I also can't help feel that with you in my pilot seat, nothing would be able to touch us." He started walking toward the crowd of people. Many shouted out and backed away from the giant draconic robot. "I keep picking up references to "Champions" in the airwaves. From the sounds of it, they are a kind of peacemaker force. Perhaps we should look into it together."

Ulrich quickly wrapped an arm around the civilian as soon as the simulation started again and pulled up a shield around them with an angled from to allow for an easier time pushing through their opponents. He began the walk forward, guiding the civilian next to him with his arm.

Denver blinked for a second at the spectacle in front of him before his mind returned to the real world, "He's right, you don't show any hallucinogenic compounds in your blood stream."
"Nor any unusual mental activity associated with ingesting hallucinogens," Colorado finished.

-----------

Chris followed closely by MT, half following in his wake as the crowd parted for him, "I don't know. I don't really think there's an upper limit to it. I have to agree with you, we would definitely be unstoppable. I guess this solidifies this relationship, eh? Man- well, Coyote and Machine. I'd be up for it if you are. I'm sure they could use someone who can repair practically anything, I guess. And then there's you, of course.

"And trust me, Captain," Corp said gruffly, "everyone's seeing it and no-one's believing it. Which makes it real."

"He'd better not have repaired my car," Keeva complained, taking a eat. "That was MYproject. Mine and Dans'."

Jenny made her way forward at a trot, keeping her ears open for movement ahead of her as she pulled her pistols out, tying the targeting system to her glasses so it switched from stun to higher power depending on if they were pointing at living beings or vehicles. She took aim quickly as a small team of soldiers entered her range and fired several quick shots before ducking aside as oe of the light vehicles came towards her. She fired on the wheels.

Jaken finished cleaning up, splashed his face and headed back outside to see what Hivemind and the newcomer were up to.
