Chris grinned at the mech as they made their way to the shuttle, "Pretty relaxed honestly. I'm glad we're going to do something. Should make it easier to settle in around here now that there's at least some actual work to do. Won't feel so left out, y'know?"
-------
Once they were outside, Colorado watched the EMT's load Seena up into the ambulance before he returned back inside. "Well since you're all still here," He said as he made his way into the kitchen, "Can I offer you anything to drink?" He fiddled with the replicator before gently sliding a tumbler glass underneath of it. He lifted the glass full of beverage up to his nose, gave it a sniff before taking a small sip and, deeming it to be 'not half bad', set it down on the countertop.
-------
Ulrich made his way to the shuttle, "How do their invasions usually go? I'm sure Hive can build some sort of defense against them if we knew how they started out and were sustained."
-------
Denver browsed the stores, picking out light colored shirts so that he wouldn't have to constantly lint roll fur from them.

"That's true, Lewis...sir," Corp said, automatically correcting himself, "but there's always a leader in classes like these. In ours it'll either be myself or the Captain it forms around - probably. The young need a good nucleus as well.

"Oh, look," Hannabelle said as they entered the hanger to see some of the team already there, "people who'll be happy to travel with me(!)"
"So you have a sense of humour," jenny remarked, walking in after stopping off to get her favourite pistols.

After retrieving her armor and gear, Kol's been following along with the group. When they meet up with the 'client' for this mission though, she growls out "Isn't she the one who tried to shoot our doctor? Why is she here?"

"More walking? ugh..." June complains, letting out a groan of discomfort and drooping into a somewhat more slouched posture, before following along.

Jaken looked back at his friend, seemingly lagging behind. "Want me to carry you," he asked, indicating his back. "Can hold you on if you want, June?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I was wondering what Death Vixen was doing here," Jenny remarked drily, "Heya, Kol, Kolt." She gave her boyfriend a sly smile.
"Death Vixen," Hannabelle sniffed. "Impressive code name. Wish it was one I'd chosen. Must have been added to the resume before they added it to the IOC lists, I suppose. The Celican government wanted the kid and they threatened MY grandcubs to get me to do it." A hostile look passed over her teeth. "Once they're aboard and safe I'm going to help him bring them down." She indicated Hivemind and showed Kol an 'innocent' face. "No trouble, I hope?"

Don't know much about him but he's a funny old guy who works for one of those emotion entities. I think. He was there when my team and I fought that Odium mech!" She trailed off, a stray memory of that day slinking through her mind, "Oh yeah! And Hobo healed Kolt's tail while Hivemind's bro healed my Armored Shell! That was fun. "
Eira froze in place for a moment as the rest of the group passed her, the cogs turning in her head as she registered what had just been said. "Woah, woah, woah! Back up, and hold on for a second. First of all, "Odium powered mech"?! Second, you saw Uncle Justus?! I've been gone for THREE DAYS! WHAT THE HECK?!"

And unless they’ve completely changed tactics since we repelled them, you WILL be the first one they possess.” He said, following the others to the dropship as he tried to stop thinking about all the people he lost in the attack.
Hivemind quite suddenly burst into a rather loud fit of laughter. "Hahaha! Oh, man. Would THEY be in for a rude awakening." He looked at Kolt and decided to elaborate, as that wasn't perhaps the most respectful response. "When I decided that absolute control was the only sure way to run this ship efficiently, I knew I couldn't risk the possibility that I could be corrupted by having so much power. As a result, I have subroutines that detect potentially dangerous or corrupt thoughts, isolates them, then destroys them. If they were to possess me, they would immediately have their thoughts ripped to shreds and the pieces isolated in droids which would then be destroyed, all by an automatic process I put in place to keep my motivations focused on helping people."

”I kinda feel the same way. Something about those “Everyday Heroes” doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t just want to get some desk job, I want to be useful. I want to use these powers for something that only they can do.” Liz said, briefly looking down at her gloved hands as she spoke. ”But at the same time, I don’t feel comfortable with the idea of fighting people being my day job. Is there some sort of in between option, where I can use my power for something unique, but still help out in dire situations?”
"Yeah. The Champions." Hivemind said to Liz. "They aren't just combat oriented. We have medics, pilots, scouts, spies, communications specialists, even ship captains."

"The Junior Champions is mostly for kids, however there is a mentorship program in that group that is geared toward people your age, Lewis." The droid brought up. "It's basically the same education except for designed for older youth and with leadership training. You also get to help mentor the Junior Champions."

"It would be better if I carried her. June, would you rather be carried to where we are going? Also, where would you guys like to go? I know we were just at a water park yesterday, but that got cut a bit short, and June didn't get to go there. I know a theme park with a salt-water park attached to it. I don't think you guys are interested in any of the museums, and the zoo is a lot of walking. Could do the arcade again, but the theme park has one of those too. What do you two say?"

When the group got to the hanger, they would immediately see the Ibis dropship sitting on an elevated platform in the center. The Ibis was rather large. It was clearly designed for vertical or horizontal takeoff. It consisted of a bulky main body at it's core with two large doors that opened vertically and provided stairs to climb into the passenger seats. Parts of these doors were designed to open independently of the rest of the door in order to provide an entrance and exit without exposing the entire cabin. The nose of the craft was oddly shaped. It was long and narrow and was attached pretty high on the main body. The nose curved downward looking like it's namesake's beak until it touches the ground via the landing gear. The elevated part of the nose as well as the tail both had latches where vehicles and cargo could attach. Two wings were folded on each side of the craft.

"Alright everyone. Time to pile in. Step inside, take a seat, and buckle up. It's going to be a bit of a rough ride. MT, I'm sorry but you can't fit inside. You'll need to secure yourself to one of the cargo latches."

Kolt tilted his head as he thought about what Hivemind said. ”That.... could work? The reason I’m not sure is because the Yah Rin don’t actually alter your mind or your thoughts. You’re still you inside, you’re just not the one controlling your body and powers. You’re in the backseat, only able to watch as your body and your memories are used to hurt the ones you love. So uh, might want to make sure your subroutines can account for that.” He went quiet for a moment, before looking over at Jenny when she walked in. ”Hey Jen!” He said, gesturing for her to sit next to him. ”Where have you been? I didn’t see you when I got out of the chamber. The rest of that simulation sucked without you. I mean, it was already atrocious, but it was worse without you.”
-
”I’m pretty sure I’m going to go for the job of spaceship Captain. I’m feeling that, what was it, six? Yeah, six years experience makes me a good fit for the job.” Liz said, feeling glad she could still do her old job.
Lewis, on the other hand, was not as happy about his job prospects. ”Well I mean, I do have experience leading, there weren’t a lot of people on the Steelhaven who outranked me, but that was with people who knew how to follow orders. And I’m not going to lie, I’m not good with kids! I can’t handle all the screaming and crying and the lack of any respect for personality boundaries. I’m just not the kind of person who can handle a bunch of little kids. So I’d really prefer not to take that position.”

"DOn't worry, Lewis," Corp said, "I won't force any of it. I couldn't. But I would ask you to think on it. The leader of the next generation has to be of that generation. We can help but your mom and I? We can't do it. We're way too old. And most of the ones who sign up? They want to be led. Other than that? I know you have it in you. Now, I think we need to get out of Colorado's home." He began to stalk off. "Empathy sucks," he added in a low tone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I had to..." Jenny took a breath and decided how to say this. "You know Hive said they raided Colony 14? It, er, seems they picked up Garrett. I've just been down there for a bit." Now she gave him a demure smile before putting her hands on his shoulders.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Um, I'll go to a water fun fair if June wants," Jaken said gallantly.

June's response is, not unsurprisingly, a 180 in her mood. Clambering onto hivemind's shoulders, pointing a random (actually random this time, there's nothing important in that direction) direction and shouting "ONWARD!" though she does seem a bit out of breath after that momentary exertion.

Her corona is still present, but there's no random damage now. in fact, the repair drones are having an unusually easy time. After all, she got what she wanted, no more having to walk.

((Now the real question becomes, was the damage wish fulfillment? or motivation for hivemind? ;) ))

- - - - - - -

Returning Jenny's wave and greeting as she approached, Kol clipped her helmet in place as Hivemind and Vixen explained, the suit letting out a hiss as the helmet sealed in place and the whole thing pressurized. Flicking the switch she had found under the lip of it, it outwardly appeared to go from translucent to coppery opaque, hiding her face.

oh, THATS what that does...

Could have cubs in danger... Or could have a pre-arranged third raiding party waiting, and leading us to them...

Tatiana let out a modulated chuckle, "I think I know how you feel, I've only been aboard since two days ago, and I've had to deal with a zombie apocalypse in the Necropolis which involved a giant undead snake, Odium and Justus were there too I think, glowy chains dragging the ball of hate away. Then after that we went to recruit Gear in which the Mech dude came out of nowhere, attacking Gear and when we had em on the ropes Odium comes up possesses the dude and we only barely took him down before he could hate portal out of there. Stupid hunk of junk wrecked my armored shell good. Most of one of my legs was gone and pretty much the rest was cracked. For whatever reason though this glowy person appeared said I was needed or something and fixed me up good before disappearing. Then Mr Hobo, who is associates with Justus I think, used anti Odium power to heal up Kolt's tail. Giving it special properties along the way." She looked at the others moving on and started to move herself, "Guess we should be a moving. But, all that's not even counting the training we just did. Ha, at least it was somewhat normal!"

"In my defense..." A deep, growling, yet still friendly voice sounded. "I didn't exactly have the time to put in my A material."

"DAD!" The Lycan found himself nearly tackled by Eira. He almost lost his balance and sent them both tumbling down the steps, but he stabilized himself as he hugged his daughter. "Eira! Your back early! How was your... OW!"

Eira had broken off from the hug and socked him in the shoulder. "That was for scaring me!" She said sternly.

"Not like I planed that. Your mom called you as soon as she could. I'm alright, Eira. You don't have to worry about me."

"You had the plague, dad. How am I supposed to NOT worry?" Eira said, shaking her head.

"I'm sorry, Eira. I didn't mean to worry you."

They continued to talk for a minute before they both stepped back into the Ibis. The Lycan sat down next to Kol and Eira sat across from him between Tatiana and Traci.

Eira turned to Traci. "Hey. I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Eira." She holds her ice arm out to shake Traci's. "How long have you been with the Champions?"

---------------------------

The doors of the Ibis shut once everyone was inside and MT had secured himself to the cargo latch. A crane lifted the dropship up off of the platform, which pulled away and retracted into the dock. Once it was gone, the crane lowered the craft into a tunnel as the tunnel doors sealed above them.

The tunnel depressurized before doors in front of them silently opened. The tunnel was long. Almost fifty miles long. At the very end of it, light reflected from Cana shined through. The Ibis's engines started, and the ship moved forwards. With a lurch, it suddenly accelerated faster than before as lights flashed by in the tunnel. They went faster and faster and faster, reaching speeds hundreds of times faster than a typical shuttle due to the railgun-like tunnel.

Inside the ship, the acceleration felt was hardly worse than a typical jetliner taking off.

"Oh, you're no fun at times, Hivemind," Hannabelle grouched. "It's not like I was going to indroduce myself to the new girl as a paid assassin, is it?" The glint in her eye gave away the fact she knew she'd done just that. "Is the little Doctor not with us? Her I really DO need to apologise to."

Ulrich strapped himself into the dropship and was enjoying the ride.
---------
Chris was enjoying the ride for different reasons. He was trying to figure out the mathematics behind the intertial dampeners in the dropship. He wondered if he could repurpose them for use in a suit of sorts, his mind ran with the idea as he settled back into the chair.
---------
Colorado carefully mixed his drink around a bit and stared at his remaining house guests with a smile. Outside he looked calm and collected but inside he was busy trying to suppress the feelings of worry he had for his mate. It wasn't life threatening, but the fact that he himself couldn't help her was burning it's way through his chest. But he smiled. He'd finish his drink and once everyone left he'd make his way to the hospital and proceed to worry there too.
----------
Denver, unaware that he was being stalked, had determined that maybe he was buying too many white shirts.

”Garret as in your brother who got taken?” Kolt said, before bursting into a big smile. ”That’s great! I’m going to have to meet him after this mission. What’s he been up to all this time?”

”Thank you. I’d much rather spend my time waiting for the ship to be updated testing the various ins and outs of my power. Lewis said, taking a quick nibble out of one of his chicken tenders. ”I want to figure out how it works. What happens if an item I’m repelling brakes? Does the line break too? Does the line just repel the biggest piece left? Can I my lines work on living things? How much force can they apply? How far can my lines go? I have so many questions I want answered, and if you can help with that, that’d be great.”

It didn't take long for the ambulance to reach the hospital. There was oddly very little traffic in the city because most people use the various forms of public transportation.

When they got there, they pulled Seena out and gave her to one of the doctors, who began to treat her leg.

"I can help you test that, but obviously not here. We should head back to the briefing room. Colorado, I apologize for intruding for so long." With that, he led Corp, Liz, and Lewis back toward the briefing room to discuss things further.

Hannabelle looked around. Yup, she saw, the Doctor was there. She took a breath. She wasn't very good at these. "You would have lived," she explained. Sana continued to follow Denver. She ran a scan on him through her wrist computer and checked through the canine records. After a moment she frowned and, had it been possible, a small black cloud of frustration would have appeared above her head as no details came back from IOC or Canine records.

Not fully understanding what he means by 'call' or how he was taking to them, having not really used her commlink much or thought about how it works, Kol just huffs distrustfully at hivemind's redirection of her concerns. Rolling her eyes unseen behind the polarized visor. Her posture does relax slightly though, and her hand no longer hovers over the grip of her axe.

"She is really hard to follow in a brawl." Kol comments, listening to Jenny and Traci chat.

Kolt was briefly surprised when Jenny suddenly hugged him, but quickly got over it, chuckling once she let go.”I’m sorry, did I give any indication I wanted you to stop?” He asked, before pulling her into a big hug of his own. ”If you ever feel like you need a hug, just tell me. I’m not one of those heartless losers who can’t stand hugs.”

As the group made their way back to the briefing room, Liz decided to make some small talk. ”So, Hivemind, how’d you get this ship built? I can’t imagine any government would let you built a battleship the size of a small continent. How’d you get away with it?”

"Well, this ship wasn't originally supposed to be a battleship." Hivemind started. "Originally it was going to be a trade and colony vessel. I used my own resources from my trading operations, and I built it mostly with my own hands. Trade and colony vessels often have some sort of basic weapons and shielding to fend off pirate attacks, and the Beacon was no different. As for permission regarding the power of the ship's weapons, at the time just before the Beacon's maiden voyage, Earth was under attack by the Varanian military. I upgraded the weapons as fast as I could, legally or not, before launching off. When this ship suddenly appeared out of nowhere, exiting it's first FTL jump, and subsequently treated the Varanian mothership and half their fleet like a windshield treats a swarm of bugs, nobody really cared where it came from, what it was for, or whether its weapons were legal. They just cared that it turned a loosing fight into a curb-stomp victory." They had finally arrived at Champion Tower, walking through the portal kiosk. Hivemind led them back to the briefing room.

"This bit's always fascinating," Hannabelle said as they entered the atmosphere and the screen showed the fire. Almost cleansing in a way. Right, it's latitude 60.152987 and Longitude -1.149293. Puts you in a park about five hundred meters from the house on an Earth scale." She looked around in response to Tatiana's question and pointed to Eira "That's the big guy and Tempest's daughter with powers of both. Traci is a speedster. Always listen in to other people talking around you. You never know when it'll help."

Sana made sure there was a Hivebot around before she did what she had planned next. She walked over to Denver and kicked his heel 'accidentally'. "I think we'd better go to the water rides, Mr Hive," Jaken said, "I'm not sure I prefer trick fun.

Jenny let herself feel the warmth of Kolt for several minutes, separating only when the ship started into the atmosphere. As the shaking continued, she whispered 'I think we made the world shake' into his ear.

CyberDragon wrote: "No... I understand." The droid said. "Though, I think there is a misunderstanding as to what I was referring to. When the attack happened, your timeline at that point would have branched off into multiple, one for each possible outcome of that event. It's complicated, but the point is that those "alternate versions" are all the very same ones you knew before that branching point. It isn't that they have the same experience, or the same genetics, or just the same memories, they would be the same person." He explained. He thought for a moment on what kind of everyday metaphor he could make about this. He wasn't great with them. "Imagine walking along a path when you come to a fork in the road. If you take one path or the other, you do not turn into a different person depending on which path you take, it is still you walking down that path. With a branch in a timeline, instead of taking one path or the other, you always take both paths. This metaphor will fall apart completely if I try to take it farther, but do you get what I mean?"

"Well, to start with, they're a reptilian alien race resembling bipedal monitor lizards. Very big, very strong. Adults range from eight to up to twenty feet in height since males don't stop growing. Even the smallest ones can throw thousand-pound objects like softballs. They're on average not as intelligent as human beings, but they are smart enough to reverse-engineer advanced stolen technology. Their scaled hides are bullet resistant, they can sustain injuries that would kill a human from the pain alone, and they recover from injury twice as fast as a human."

"Their culture is based around strength. If you aren't as strong, you aren't as much of a person. If you are stronger, you have the right to take what you want from the weak, even if what you want is the other person themselves. Varanians have a history of sentient cannibalism and a booming illicit slave trade. The Varanian government, upon receiving pressure from mostly us, outlawed those two things, but never actually enforce those laws."

Ulrich held onto his seat as they plunged through the atmosphere, "What can we expect from these hunters? Any special powers or skills?" He questioned the droid.

--------

Colorado let out a breath he had been holding just slightly as the door shut. Now he was alone and could spruce himself up to go visit his girl. He finished the last of his drink and went to go take a shower.

--------

Denver felt the small kick and turned around only slightly irritated. He looked down at the Fennekin and lifted an eyebrow. Was about to say something but stopped and wondered if he should have a little fun with this or not. He almost decided on being cooperative, but the attitude that had been drenched over her question almost immediately put that thought out of his mind. "If you had to guess, what species would you say I am?"

Sana waved her arms in exasperation. "Well, you're a Canine, yes," she almost demanded. "Mostly Husky but with a smidge of... Mutamal? But you should be listed! And I can't find you on here." She indicated the wrist computer. "And it links to the Canine homeworld systems so you should be there!" The little black cloud would still be hanging around, if it could be seen.

Tatiana shrugged at Hannabelle's words about never knowing when something will help, "I was more talking about you. Figured it rude to probe directly. But, it's not everyday you run into an old school mercenary. And this whole scenario just goes to show how you can't trust customers nowadays. No professionalism at all on the end of those who 'hired' you... Tell me, ever been out to the Rim? Kinda isolated system. No contact with major planetary alliances and kinda does its own thing?"

Sana swept both her arms upin pure exasperation. "Canara," the tiny agent fumed. "You know your..." Her brain caught up with what he'd said and she sorted things out in her brain and came to a conclusion. "What do you mean, 'born today'..? You're from that other ship, aren't you?"

"Oh, there's usually some warlord makes the mistake of picking on the wrong colonist, my girl," Hannabelle replied. "But, because of the expenses, I usually passed them on to other hunters in the area. One's who target the bad guy and try for minimal casualties. There are a fewof us still around. and I know the warrant doesn't say that," she added for Jennys' benefit. "Disadvantage of being burned."

"Just a few scratches, it's still sturdy." Kol comments distractedly, the cracks did distort her vision on the right side a little, and the yellow shapes and symbols the inside of the helmet had seemed to flicker a lot on that side, not that she knew what any of them were. but to kol those were the only real issues. She was confident she could find someone to hammer the dents out of the chest plate and shoulders once they had a day or two to rest.

the bigger issue for her was why the floor felt like it was moving so much. It was starting to bother her stomach.

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"That's the best way for a government to excuse itself from trouble," Corp agreed. "It usually works too."
"Yeah, well..." Hivemind said with a clear tone of hostile anger. "It doesn't work with me. If I have to liberate one more planet from Varanian slavers, I'll go straight to Varan, point every weapon this ship has at their biggest military installations, and demand they enforce those laws." He calmed down a bit. "And before you say that sounds rash, reckless, or uncharacteristically violent of me, remember what I said about Varanian culture. Might makes right. Diplomacy is done with clubs and blunderbusses. They won't listen to calm conversation alone. Calm conversation with a really big gun pointed at them, on the other hand, they will listen to."

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"I'm a fan of the Tempest," Jaken said before his ears flipped down and he cringed. "Don't tell her I said that. I, er, meant the ride."
The droid let out a laugh. "It's a good ride! It's a little hard to describe though. Kind of a mix of a roller coaster and one of those "shoot the chute" rides. And it's ok to be a fan of Tempest."
Buster wrote:June glances between the other two thinking for a second before asking "What's a water slide? Father didn't pass on any memories of those..."
"It's pretty much what it sounds like. It's a giant slide with water running through it that usually ends by dumping you into a big pool of water." he explained as they passed through the city.

Deske wrote:Ulrich held onto his seat as they plunged through the atmosphere, "What can we expect from these hunters? Any special powers or skills?" He questioned the droid.

"That armor protects you from more than just the heat and physical attacks. Those cracks in the visor..." He taps on the cracked visor on her helmet. "Which is this right here... Those cracks could let all sorts of nasty things through if it takes any more hits. It will do for now, but when we get back the first thing I want you to do is go with me to get this repaired. It will only take a minute."
Welsh Halfwit wrote:"If they had to run, Calzone Ferrata owns a small place in the forest about two miles from their place,"Hannabelle admitted. ""As that's actually me, they'd probably head there and, if they're really lucky, they'll find the basement garage and the ATV therein. But, as they never visited..." She shrugged.
"Sounds good. Can you give me coordinates?" He asked.

The clouds disappeared outside of the window as the Ibis lowered it's altitude. The craft tilted upward, leveling out from it's nose-dive. However, it continued on it's path, slowing down as it approached the ground.

"...It looks like I'll need those coordinates quickly. I see smoke. A lot of it." Sure enough, about five hundred meters away, thick black smoke billowed upwards into visual range of the windows.

The ibis slowed down and stopped, hovering just above the ground in the park. The port side doors opened. Several Celicians walking in the park turned their attention away from the burning building to gawk at the new arrivals.

"An Earth gangster called Capone once said 'You get further with a kind word and a gun than you do with a kind word alone'," Corp remarked. "Hardly the best role model but he had a point. Do you have a tactical army as well as your Champions? Any victory relies not just on beating the enemy but holding the ground you've taken. Or showing that you can. Heroes leave. Soldiers and diplomats remain to ensure the rule changes are followed without the need for a return visit."

Hannabelle gave Hive the co-ordinates to the house and readied to get out of the ship. "Don't bother trying to stop me, Hive, that's my family might be down there. If not, the people who need to talk certainly are!"

"Want me to go first, June," Jaken grinned as they headed towards the park. "To show you it's safe? You'd need to change anyhow. You don't want to get your clothes wet." He thought for a second. "What am I saying," he asked himself.

"I don't much like those either.." Rika said, keeping still.

"Never been on a rollercoaster myself. If this is what it's really like then I'm with Rika!" Traci added.

At the sight of the smoke, Kolt got up and stood by the port doors, ready to jump out if needed. ”So what’s our plan? He said, turning to look at the nearest Hivemind drone. ”One group heads for those coordinates, another goes to deal with the fire? There could be people still in there, we need to help them.”

”These Varanians are probably going to be attacked by the Barbarox soon.” Liz said matter of factly, taking the seat she had last time they were in the room. ”Fortis has always thrived with recruiting from the oppressed, and an empire with, as you said, “a booming illicit slave trade,” is going to have a LOT of people who feel oppressed and vengeful. Plus, slavery has always been a sore spot for him, so any government that supports it, officially or not, is going to have a target on its back.”
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

Hivemind needed to think fast and plan out their strategy, but he needed more information. "MT, can your scanners pick up anything in that burning building?"

MT disconnected from the Ibis and dropped to the ground with a ground shaking thud. Stepping out of the rather deep footprints he left there, he turned his eyes on the building. "Nothing organic inside beyond what is expected in a house's construction. No biosignitures matching the expected size or biomass of a member of Hannabelle's species. Wherever the family is, they aren't there. There are several biosignitures surrounding the house on all sides."

"Alright then. Here's the plan. Rika, the family isn't at the house which means they fled. I need you to get back on the Ibis with Arctos and The Lycan. We're going to head them off at Hannabelle's house. Chris, you and MT take to the skies. Scan for any Celician-sized biosignitures in the forest between here and the coordinates I send you. Keep an eye out for those signitures matching the family. Two adults, two children. Keep the skies clear, we don't need the press knowing we are here. The rest of us will make our way to the house, find out what we can, then head through the forest and get to the family before the hunters do."
Welsh Halfwit wrote:Hannabelle gave Hive the co-ordinates to the house and readied to get out of the ship. "Don't bother trying to stop me, Hive, that's my family might be down there. If not, the people who need to talk certainly are!"
"Jenny, keep your eye on her." Hivemind said to the rat as the group disembarked, making sure Hannabelle couldn't hear him. "I'll do the same."

MT walked over to Chris and opened up his cockpit doors. "Chris. I suggest you take the controls. Not having to run my body will let me put the saved processing power into the scanner, hopefully finding the family faster." He said as the Ibis prepared to take off.

"Yeah. Me." Hivemind responded. "Just set up a hive relay in a deployable base and you've got yourself a terminator-esque army of robots to defend the area."

The room he entered was empty aside from a single hive droid. "First, I never said it would be a blind jump. Second, the alliance is only after June. The rest of us are fine and can register if needed. June won't be hard to hide. As such, they won't have reason to attack." He stood up and tapped on the table. A hologram of a thug-like human showed up above it. "A few days ago, one of the cities on the Beacon was placed under siege by an army of undead. The attacker, an empowered individual we are referring to as the Necromancer, claimed that his attack was prompted by him seeing his own killer. This particular city's population consists of people who died, but we managed to bring back. Anyway, seeing his killer caused him to loose control of his hatred, and resulted in his powers going haywire. I investigated this matter and found that by a sheer coincidence, his killer is one of the people in the same city of the Risen Dead. It turns out he was killed in a super-villain attack not long after he committed the murder. Now that we know who he is, we need to find him and bring him in. This shouldn't take long."

"June is fine. You might need to get some swim trunks though." Hivemind said. He looked out the window. "Ah. There. I can see the park from here. We're getting close."

Outside, the park came into view, and it was magnificent. There was a coaster that had at least two 500 foot drops and spanned across the entire park. Another one was arranged into a ball seemingly designed to exert as many Gs on a person as was legally allowed, there was a large roller coaster that spun and looped and blasted through waterfalls and into caves before dropping down a four hundred foot ramp into an artificial river... and then went under it. There was a tall water slide that somehow managed to fit a loop in there and a go-cart track that got away with a corkscrew and a jump. As they reached the station, a drop tower dropped it's riders before flipping upside down and dropping them again.

Tatiana disembarked but kept her rifle holstered, following after Hivemind, "So, we go in, beat up those making trouble and bring the family back to Beacon, huh?" She said to herself more than anything before speaking to the group at large, "Be paranoid everyone. As far as I'm concerned everything going normally is the outlier of mission outcomes."
