"We're from Earth, but we aren't wolves." Randy said, shaking the dog's hand. "My daughter and I are Lycans. We're venomous shapeshifting canines able to alter our bodies in order to resemble a human." he said, looking forward to their reaction to that tidbit of information.Deske wrote:Collins looked the absolutely massive wolf up and down before glancing back at Norwood, who gave him a shrug in return. "Collins," the dog said, extending a hand, "Good to meet you! We've got a, uh... Question..." Collins didn't need to turn around to know that the rest of the doctors had turned their gazes towards him, "Are you guys alien wolves or something? Because, we saw a zoo on our way through the Beacon and you don't look like the wolves we saw."
"We've already uncovered some civilians. You can start helping them while we search for more." Tempest said, pointing to where they had gathered the civilians together.
Meanwhile Eira simply smiled and waved at the doctors.

"That... Honestly doesn't help me much on it's own. Can you tell me about what happened with Jaken's father? Anything you know could be helpful." Hivemind asked.Welsh Halfwit wrote:Sana sighed and swung her seat around to face Hive... and kept going. "Whoa," she said, stabilising herself before pushing herself around more gently to face him. "It was more personal than professional, I think," she admitted. "Um, for Golta - that's my senior agent," she told Seena. "He used to do a lot of undercover work as a stunt performer and kinda needed his looks, y'know" she continued, her ears drooping as she thought wistfully of those looks. "He, um, got scarred more than a few times and it was Jaken's dad the studio used to send him to to get put back in one piece. He said Jaken's dad saved his career more than once." She looked directly to Hive. "In fact I remember he said the studio used to send ALL their scars to him. They kept in touch a bit and Golta decided to look for Jaken after it went bad. A faint trail led toward Earth and the rest you know."

"'eard about that one. It was a solid shot. Thought it was kinda odd no-one knew who they hired. That sorta thing's kinda important ta know." Gear said, nodding as they walked. "Few even claimed it had ta be one of my shots." He shrugged. "My proudest shots happened after joinin' the Champions. Adds a bit of challenge when yer told not ta kill an' all ya have is a rifle. Gotta get creative, ya know? Was huntin' a Warlord. Varanian, big guy, liked ta eat his subjects." He continued as they neared the compound. "Was makin' my way up a mountain 'bout five miles from his castle, or whatever they call it. Got myself jumped by three Varanian guards on the way. So, I took my rifle, shot the first in the foot, then ejected the cartridge into the second one's eye. Loaded another bullet in the gun, aimed high, and fired. Bullet went the whole five miles, through a window, knocked a chandelier on 'is guards an' took his arm clean off." He said, miming the arc of the shot with his arm as he described this feat of marksmanship that borders on the absolute absurd. "Champions stormed the room right afterwards. Anyway," he said, moving on to a different question. "What kind of gun do ya prefer? Bullet? Energy? Laser? Scoped? Unscoped?"Welsh Halfwit wrote:"I'll admit," Hannabelle said as she began to walk with Gear, "there's one that comes to mind. Back when freelancing - between Government sanctioned missions - I ended up doing a job for one of the outlying planet governments. They'd hired through the net so they didn't even know who they'd hired, it was a 'payment on delivery' thing. Totally anonymous. A wannabe conqueror going country by country and seemingly invincible. Skin like Titanium, fifteen human foot tall, ability to use energy blasts, all that stuff. No army, though," she added. "He'd not really wanted one as he wanted to do it all himself. You know, an idiot? Still trouble. Still vulnerable to one well placed shot though. I took position on a rooftop, covered myself in a camo cloak - not as good as Hive's, of course - and waited. Twelve hours without moving before I got the shot off. An armour piercing bullet with a Hi-ex core straight through the left Pupil. One of my best shots." she snorted a chuckle. "Government deducted the damages to nearby buildings from the energy explosion he let off when he died from the bounty. Never trust a Government to pay you correctly."

Hivemind waved a hand dismissively to Cailean before sitting down, thanking Conall. "I'm afraid unless they have tritium cells for a fusion reactor, there won't be much here for me. That's Ok, though. I can still join in on the conversation!"Hlaoroo wrote:"Sorry, sir. Ah didnae mean tae embarrass ye." Cailean blushes as he follows Sarah to a table. He makes sure to hold the chair for Sarah until she's settled even as Conall respectfully offers the same gesture to Hivemind.
Cailean orders the "Mince and Tatties" (savoury minced beef and vegetables served with mashed potato) and Conall orders a Scotch pie (spiced, peppered mutton wrapped in pastry) and chips (fries).
Flipping over the menu, the older dog curiously reads the last page before offering it to Hivemind.
"It says they hae oil fer droids if ye want any. Tha' way ye cuid join us in th' meal."

Welsh Halfwit wrote:Corp decided he needed to make some enquiries with regards Tiger people...
"It hasn't happened to us... And likely won't, if the reparations agreement with Hivemind goes through..." the new Warlord started, "But Varanian colonies, particularly ones with booming slave trade, have recently been hit by someone of that description. I didn't put much stock in it. I don't know of a species that closely resembles tigers like what was described. But then... if you know this person..." He thought for a moment. Then looked Liz in the eye, not at all intimidated by the rage in her expression. "Let's assume this is the person you know... How can I keep my people, the people in my fleet, from getting in his sights?"Legotron123 wrote:Liz’ expression noticeably darkened when Sep-Heth mentioned the idea of a tiger pirate lord sounding familiar. ”Why exactly does it sound familiar?” She asked, sounding far too calm for the amount of rage displayed on her face.

(Rook, this is also for you)Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Cool," the NotJaken said mischievously, "I'm working with the big dog!"
"Yes you will. In fact, you and Rika should probably head on over to them right about..." A sparrow flew in and dropped down near Rika and Jaken. The doors opened to allow them in. "Now. Climb aboard you two, and I'll take you over to where one of our other groups is looking for survivors."

Kol gives a bit of a huff, and makes a thoughtful 'hmmh' sound, conceding the argument.Buster wrote:
In the momentary pause after the banter with jenny, Kol is about to refuse the blade before Gadgeteer mentions the bit about it the warrior making it in his youth. Persistent little... no... As long as it wasn't made specifically for me, it doesn't count. They've not been aware of any other Rhoui customs. why would he know if this one. It doesn't even have the traditional inscriptions on the blade. Accepting the blade she clips it to one of the magnetic attachment points on the waist of her armor meant for accessories.
The Varanian was thrilled that she accepted his gift. The Varanian knife was likely one of the wickedest blades kol had seen before. Designed in equal parts for stabbing, maiming, and carving, it had a handle the perfect size for Kol. It's blade was serrated on one end... if you could call the array of spikes designed to quickly grab and shred an enemy to pieces serrations. It's tip was sharp enough to pierce even Champion armor. It had a hook on the other side apparently designed to cut skin, fur, and hide off of the bodies of prey. Down the center was a notch to keep the knife from clotting a stab wound, but despite that the knife was unyielding, and would not bend or break.
After they exchanged names (I'm skipping this because we really need to move on I feel), his name is Shel-Tal, the three Varanians gave Kol a respectful bow and salute before turning around and marching back to their transport.
"Gotta say, that was kind of refreshing." Gadgeteer said. "People see my species as cannibals and slavers. Granted they aren't wrong, but sometimes it's nice to remind myself that my species isn't totally doomed to be evil all the time."
The Ibis was the next ship to fly in. It landed a little ways away to avoid landing straight on the heroes in the street. It's doors opened. "Right. Now that that is over, we need to get moving." Hivemind said to the team. "It won't take long for people to realize that someone important to their plans didn't show up where they were supposed to be today."
Predator was too big for the Ibis, so he simply waited for the ship to take off. He, Kobor, and Talya would follow along behind the dropship.
Legion didn't really say anything. They were less than impressed with the Varanian love letter, considering they were all eaten by a Varanian. That, or they had mixed feelings. It was a bit hard to tell at the moment. The Legion climbed on board the aircraft, helping the mother and her kids on board before offering a hand to help Sage up.
MT walked over to the Ibis and opened up his cockpit to let Chris out before latching himself to the cargo rails under the ibis's "beak".
