Made this as part of an art trade. And you can tell that I still have no idea what I'm doing.

For someone who has no idea what they are doing, you are really great at art.

Re: Art Thread
I think it looks great! Cool accessory (is it to scale? is it cape?)
Re: Art Thread
Thanks. It's not to scale. It's a collar that does have a cape, though. Only goes about halfway down his back.

Re: Art Thread
actually, you did better than you seem to think.
other than the shoulders being oddly bulky for someone that skinny (try making the lines on his arms blend in to each other a little more so it doesn't look like you're outlining the shoulder muscles when none of the others are detailed), and hands being squashed, that one looks fine. (when flat realistic hands are from wrist to fingertip about twice as long as they are wide. cartoons widen them to the point of being more 3:2 than 2:1, but you've got it closer to 2:3 in the other direction)

Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Huh. I'll have to try to remember that.

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.
Re: Art Thread
You're the second person to say that. Actually haven't seen the movie, but the previous comment made me search out the relevant scene.

Re: Art Thread
is it any good? i'be been avoiding it mainly because of the princess scene in half the trailers being offputingly dumb, and partially because that studio does not sequel well in general...

Re: Art Thread
I saw it a while ago. It's pretty good. I wasn't ever a big fan of Wreck it Ralph (I think movies about video games are boring), but it wasn't a cheap sequel like I was expecting.Buster wrote:is it any good? i'be been avoiding it mainly because of the princess scene in half the trailers being offputingly dumb, and partially because that studio does not sequel well in general...

Re: Art Thread
If I had seen the first movie I might be interested in the second because that is how my mind works that I will always see a sequel no matter how STUPID it is.
Re: Art Thread
Posting a bit early. I'll do one involving Mirage later on if I can. For now, Macabre and Sickle.
Another quick whip-up, and wanted to try my hand at simple sequences with minor edits for the flow. It's a style I've seen on occassion. And doesn't seem I got it. The one with Mirage will be a similar trial.

Sickle should have went ahead and did what he was gonna do. We need to examine the inside of Mirage's stomach!
Re: Art Thread
Mirage has some rules regarding her eating habits. Sickle is in no danger. But he doesn't know that.
It's an effective enough threat to keep others at bay.

Re: Art Thread
You mean the others who don't know about her habits as well?
Re: Art Thread
They know she actively hunts on occasion and just how much she is capable of taking in. They just don't know that she has a strict set of rules she follows regarding predation.
Re: Art Thread
Experimental internals. Top right is natural for comparison. What do y'all think? Kinda thinking purple, myself.
Brought this up because I made his blood canonically violet, and seems some of the Infernals have different colored mouths, so I wanted to see what I could do, and decided to try other colors.

I do like the purple color as it's a color you rarely see for blood (Green, Blue, and Red are very typical colors) and insides.

Re: Art Thread
green and blue are probably common because they're the cheapest non red-orange colors to get dyes in. Holywood logic. before '98 cg wasn't good enough to make something convincing without the help of physical props.
that or someone did their homework and knew about copper based blood actually being light blue (Not joking. horseshoe crabs have literal blue blood.)

Something that they have in common with the Kree then.
Re: Art Thread
Haven't seen Kree blood. But anyway, consensus over this seems to like the purple variant most, so I'll go with that going forward.

Re: Art Thread
Well you will eventually see it but that is only if you go and see Captain Marvel.
Re: Art Thread
Eh, incredibly rarely in the mood for movies. Heck, didn't even see Infinity War in theatres. My brother went to see that, though, but he didn't like it. A combination of being unable to care about Captain Marvel and finding the villains to be incredibly boring. He did admit that Thanos greatly raised the bar on villains. Eh, maybe I'll see it later on.
Anyway, finally decided to make something regarding Mirage's hunting rules.

She looks so cuddly its hard to believe that she could eat you if you fall under one of her rules.

Re: Art Thread
Posting this a day early because dang it, worked too long on this, and it was supposed to be a quickie!
Sickle and Nikolai interactions. Sickle likes to give silly nicknames to just about everyone to get under their skin. Normally Nikolai is pretty cold and distant with others, but not with Sickle, in fact he kinda likes the name. He has quite a crush on him, but won't say it out loud. Somehow Sickle doesn't connect the dots, but not like it'd matter, he's not interested in romance with anyone. Takes time away from his pranks.
So, as you can tell, Mirage really doesn't like black licorice. And Sickle once again underestimates his mark.

Can we see the next part of the comic where Mirage uses Sickle's spinal column as a backscratcher?
