[Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
Well, here's a new project that I would like to work on for awhile.
I'm going to try to get these out weekly, but they will be a lot more complicated than anything I've done before, so we'll see what happens. I already feel like I'm biting off more than I can chew, but I'm just gonna roll with it until I've had enough.
I'm going to make it PG-13 because there will probably be some gun/sword battles somewhere.
In regards to the McKade series, I'll be doing those a lot less often. To be honest, I've been running out of ideas for places that I really want him to go to, but don't think that you won't be seeing him anymore. There are plenty of places for him to go in the future *cough* Zootopia *cough*, so you can expect more of him in the future, just not as much.
Hopefully someone will get some enjoyment out of these.
I've also been using a new editing program, so hopefully these comics will look a lot better than my previous ones. I think they do, at least...
I would also appreciate some feedback on it all as I start everything up, so feel free to message me with your thoughts.

Sounds really nice so far! I can't wait to see where you take it!
Re: [Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
Hey if you ever need help with initial sketches, I'd be happy to do some recreations of the pages you're working on.

Is James gonna be in this or is it gonna be another character of yours?

What do you mean by that?The-J-Man wrote:Hey if you ever need help with initial sketches, I'd be happy to do some recreations of the pages you're working on.
He won't be the main character, but he might just make an appearance.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Is James gonna be in this or is it gonna be another character of yours?

Then will you give us a bit of information about the main character?

Re: [Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
Well, here is the result of a lot of learning how to learn new art programs, and a lot of fooling around with fun brushes and stuff!
I would REALLY appreciate some feedback, because I'm trying a lot of new things with this, so I would like to know what you guys think I should improve on.
As usual, I will be posting a higher res version on DA, but that isn't working right now, so I'll do that as soon as it starts working again.
Anyway, hope y'all enjoy!

That... Is impressive. All I can give, great job with all of it and look forward to seeing where this one will go hopefully. Dragon at Cali-Co though, hehe.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

So is the new sort of limitless power something's tooth then? That's what it looks like. LOL.
Nice job though.

An impressive start. I really like the lighting and depth of the objects in the second panel. Also, just a big bag of sugar is all you need to placate a child.
So McKade is narrating this story? Interesting.

I guess that would be why he isn't the main character. He's narrating it and will have cameos here and there.

Thanks, lighting and shading have been one of the biggest things that I've been trying to improve upon. That, and drawing backgrounds...And drawing clothes... Hopefully those will get better as this goes along

I could never picture clothes correctly so I just don't bother when thinking of scenarios for my characters in my head.

Character Sheet - Nari
Just a character sheet for one of the main characters that will be in the next page. I will be doing these before the page in which the character is first featured.
(Yes, that IS a gun. I don't know what I want it to look like yet, so that is just a placeholder.)
(As usual, there is a higher res version on DA)

Re: [Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
I loved the first page and how sad James looks when facing the typewriter. The story and tone look really promising, I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately I have a pretty exam-filled week this week, so you can probably expect the next page mid-next-week, but hopefully earlier.

Just worry about one thing at a time and you can eventually get back to the comic when you feel like you are able to.

Re: [Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
Here's another page, it only took a reeeealy long time...
Hopefully I can establish some sort of upload schedule, but I'm not gonna worry about that right now.
I really need to figure out how lighting works...
(As usual, higher res version on DA, that didn't have to be split up into three different files.)
Intro 02 - The cost of its destruction...

Ah, that's why this is called Outage!
No power means no internet or TV... So yeah, riots/fires within mere hours sounds about right.
One question: by her bed, is that supposed to be a hologram/digital poster going to static or a picture of static? I like to assume the former in such a cool futuristic world.
In any case, pretty good job, especially on the lighting in the third panel and the foreboding fiery glow in the last.

I am loving were this story is going. Great job Blaster.
I think that is a poster of the stars. The lighter shades in the middle suggest a galaxy.dryideabat wrote:Ah, that's why this is called Outage!

Next time around, try making the dots smaller, some of them dimmer, and spaced further apart.TheBlasterizer wrote:Yeah, that's what I was going forIdleCurator wrote: I think that is a poster of the stars. The lighter shades in the middle suggest a galaxy.
I'm well aware that realistic starfields can be that densely packed (and when viewed from space brighter and clearer) compared to what we see in the night sky, but most people are used to only seeing stars through that limited viewpoint, or have been 'trained' by scifi that tends to use starfields made from CGI based on that same limited visibility, to see stars this densely packed as odd looking.
Know your audience.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Re: [Webcomic] Outage [PG-13]
You know, I honestly just messed around with a bunch of random brushes in manga studio to make an interesting design, mainly because it is just a small background piece of no real consequence. If I would have known that it was so important, then I guess I would have done it differently.

Yes, most people have never seen stars so densely-packed because they've never been to Hollywood... Sorry, I couldn't resist.Buster wrote:

But, seriously, that's good overall advice. I was well aware that constellations may appear like that. It was just while first glancing over it, something digital came to my silly mind given the context of this futuristic world. I apologize for making this tiny little detail into too much of a thing with my inane question, or if I offended you The Blasterizer. I like the direction this story is going; paralleling our imminent energy crisis.

Is it a random star system or something that you have in mind?
