Cartoons and Animations

Post by MrNeonShot »

Well, I figured since I'm turning my artwork into animation, I should be updating in the art thread. But I am making them into youtube video's, so their not exactly "art." I'm making animations and cartoons and that is not still framed artwork.
So...
Here is the cartoons and animations thread!

This thread is here to post cartoons and animations that you've made or to react to the animations that others have made.
Hope this is useful!

To start off with video's that are currently out there on youtube: Alight was the first animation that truly inspired me to start animating my artwork. It is so beautifully animated and just amazing to watch that I had to share it here. Tell me what you think of it, and I hope you enjoy.

Now for news of my own progress: Day 1 was just me messing around with character creation and messing around with the layout of adobe after effects.
(Read that in the art thread? Think of it as déjà vu. This is just a review and an update.)

Day 2 I got body motion and lip syncing down, as well as added a background. I also manipulated camera angles! ^w^

Now I've got one more thing to do... export the video. I have no idea to make everything into one video! 0_0'
Hopefully by Day 3 I'll figure it out and have it uploaded!

The finished animation will be basically a white potato with arms, but its still the best animation I've done so far!
Here is an example of my earlier animations.
Well, I hope this thread becomes useful! ^w^

I don't remember what animation I watched first on youtube that actually made me think a bit. There are a lot though.
I think the first one was about a fox though and a shadow creature. It was adorable, but I can't remember the name of it nor can I find it.

I'm going to be a voice-actor in a cartoon you know, we're just sorting out the lines and scenes right now.
Did you know my friends call me "The Great Pontificator"! Or was it "The Great Time Waster"?

lucky, I so far haven't moved past fan works. and I've barely even gotten in those. I should look for more open casting calls on tumblr or something.

definitely. as long as they're scripts for animations and not just for an audio thing. Or should I just make a separate voice acting thread?

Now I'm working on an animation focusing on body motion!
In the next video, I'll be working on a Golem 7 mech assault droid's motions, so hopefully you'll see that soon!
Character rigging, here I come!

Moving directly from drawing frame by frame in a 10 frame video to modelling and rigging. Godspeed.

So while I've been working on the Golem 7 animation, I've been thinking of making animated series.
One is a legend of zelda style while the other is something different.

Here is the idea summed up in a single image.

I'd like to be signed up with someone, but I'd rather it not be Disney. Cartoon Network has 2 shows on their that actually targets teens, so Mine would be cancelled after the first season :/

Wise thinking. Though it might also be best to know people around and in that industry, you could be freelance as well if animation has such a thing.
well okay I only know examples in game creation where what I said makes sense.

However... the animation looks good neon shot. I think with practice you will do very well

Why is it that CN always cancels their shows after the first season anyway?

My guess is that if parents say that a show designed for 12 yo and up is too bad for their 6 yo, then CN takes it off :b

Of some to most of the shows I have seen be thrown to CN and stayed. It feels (to me) that the ones that are of low quality, quickly made, and or cheap make the cut.

The good stuff (like green lantern) is to pricy now.

that and most likely parents feelings, though with that some of those shows...

Concept art for my animated series that has yet to get a name!

I originally had him named after James Bond, but that name is copyrighted. Instead, I've named him Spanky! Enjoy!

The animation is going to be 6 seconds long (a trend I've been having), and its going to be dark humor, so I'm not sure if its okay to post the link here when it's uploaded... Maybe I should provide a caution so people know that the video is dark?
