WGMG: Having nothing to do at work.

WGMG: poor communication. Especially at work. I've been working the employee cafeteria for the past two weeks while the regular person is on vacation. No big deal, it's a nice, low-stress environment. Company employees get a meal for three dollars, contractors for four, tea is free, bottle of soda is an extra dollar. Been like that for apparently longer than I've worked there (granted, only a year). Today, my boss tells me that sodas are now two dollars, as the company was losing money on soda bottle sales.

When did he tell me? In the middle of the second wave of customers, WHILE someone ordered a bottle.

After asking later, when was this policy put into effect? Two weeks ago.

Did anyone tell me beforehand? No.

Was there a sign anywhere to let all employees know of an increase? No.

Did they change out the lunchroom menu to reflect this change? No.

Did they have notices ready for me to put up? No. I had to make two myself, in English and Spanish (at least that was easy enough once the wave settled).

So yeah, That's an issue of mine...

actually, that term means 'derived from latin' in that context, not 'about romance'. it's a proper term not a subjective category.

What grinds my gears (really badly): Not being able to fully clean my glasses, even with the proper cleaning tools. I can't handle there being smudges on my glasses some days, especially after I try cleaning them for what feels like five minutes almost. I was able to clean them perfectly before, too. The other day I tried cleaning them, but I had to settle with "good enough" because they weren't getting any cleaner than I could get them to be.

WGMG: When people try to challenge Brent in Members vs. Mods and end up losing all the progress we've made. We need to keep the progress we've made. When Brent shows up at night, don't post again until the sun comes out (unless another mod teams up with him).

- Motion smoothing algorithms on new TVs that make the best special effects look fake, animated movies look like in-game video game gameplay, and dramatic moments in movies look like they were shot on a camcorder.

What Grinds My Gears: That Rick never explained how that PETA guy brainwashed Sasha. He could have easily said that he got some magical artifact at a garage sale or something, and that would’ve made sense for the world he’s made. But instead he just expects us to believe that PETA dude accomplished in a weekly training class what takes experts months of total isolation and sensory deprivation to do. It’s the only time I’ve actually gotten downright furious at a comic strip, and it’s the complete opposite of the usual care and planning you can feel in his work.
