Ok then! It seems my first little game idea here was a little too serious... soo lets try something more silly, more on topic, and more newbie friendly shall we?
Basic Premise
"Pet friendly" is a role play that follows the theme of the comic:A silly tale of domestic pets getting into trouble in the suburbia of the northern united states. Newbie friendly the point of this game is.. well.. to have fun! There are no major restrictions, and anyone can join at anytime taking the role of a pet in this little bit of chaos. If you become busy, and can't play.. that's fine too! You're free to join again at anytime. There is no set story teller either...everyone is free to change the world around them as they see fit, the only thing you can't control are the other players characters. I'd like to note PF takes place in a different neighborhood then HP, populated by forum users characters... not the cast of Ricks comics.
Joining?
There is no 'sign up' for this game. Simply come up with a pet in your head, and go post in one of the in-character threads that has room! It's that simple! There ARE some character creation rules bellow that put some limits on what everyone can, or can not be, so I suggest reading them. There's no need to actually MAKE a sheet though, but posting it in this thread will give the other players a better idea of who your pet is ehn? You're allowed to have multiple characters if you wish... though I would recommend most people focus on one or two. Minor NPCs created simply for the current story, or your characters background, do not need to be included.
-Character rules-
Name:Anything within reason. Keep in mind pets tend to take the last name of their human owners.
Species:Most people, keeping in with the theme of the game, should be a Dog or a cat, breed included if you so wish. As this is a light hearted game though...ANY animal that can be domesticated legally is allowed within reason. Certain creatures will suffer from limitations though (see Special rule #1).
Age:Will be put in Dog years. 1 year=7 years. Most pets should stick to being somewhere between 10 to 35 years old.
Gang:Ok, so, "HP!" has this big old club full of dogs right? Well our game has things like that too! Two of them in fact:Marty's gang (The Cats), and Dany's Gang (the Dogs). The two share a friendly rivalry (Sometimes not so friendly) and any player is free to be part of either group. Feel free to skip this part all together if you want. You can make up your own gangs, but keep in mind they will most certainly be SMALL. No more then ten or so pets, and more likely only four or five.
-Appearance-
How you appear, and any bits of clothing you're often seen wearing. For most pets this is just a collar though. One to three lines should be enough for most.. but no more then two paragraphs
-Personality-
Also simple enough. Keep the setting in mind! Gritty dark avengers generally won't work... unless they're a parody there of. Keep it at the same length as appearance
-Other Notes-
Any other minor details you want to add about your character. Character Backgrounds are NOT required but if you want to bring up a few important details this is the place to put them.
-SPECIAL-
Nerd time! S.P.E.C.I.A.L is a simple system I'd like people to use to define their characters abilities:How strong they are, how fast they are etc. Don't panic, it's very simple, the numbers are only here as 'guidelines' of sorts, we will never actually use REAL rules. All you need to do is take 42 points, and spread them between the seven attributes bellow. You must put at least 2 points in each one, and the most you can put in one is 10, with 5 being 'average'. You need not spend all 42 points if you don't want to.
Strength-Easy to explain. Your pure muscle power. How much you can lift, and how much force you can put out
Perception- Your awareness of your surroundings. Your ability to sense what's going on around you, along with what's going on in the minds of others.
Endurance-Your physical health. Your resistance, and stamina.
Charisma-Your characters ability to influence others. To get them to agree with you, and listen to what you say.
Intelligence-Your 'book' smarts. Your technical knowledge, and problem solving skills.
Agility-How fast you are. You dexterity, and coordination.
Luck-Self explanatory:how lucky your character is! Trust me this is more useful then it sounds, and might even save your life. Can represent just plain luck, insight, resourcefulness.. or anything else that leaves your character in the right place, at the right time.
Extra rules
Special rule #1:Small animals (such as rodents) cut their strength, and endurance scores in half after spreading their points out(Rounding down). Animals that have natural abilities that put them at an obvious advantage (such as a Birds Flight, or a wild cats claws) only get 36 points to spend rather then 42.
Special rule:#2:I'M THE WEATHER WIZARD!
Ok then! here's the situation! you're bored to death with modern day pets who have no magic powers or super skills or anything! What do you do? You have your pet pull out the mighty Axe:Exlaibor (a broomstick) and lunge at the vile evil sorcerer Jeffery (the neighbors cat) to free the fair damsel Dia (The toy said cat is holding).
Confused? I'd hope so! Basically if you ever feel the need for a different kind of story simply have your pets (childish creatures that they are) to imagine they're something more! Changing the mundane world around them into something fantastic. Yes, that's right:we're going to be pretending to be pets, pretending to be knights, pretending to be heroes. Cool huh?
Naturally the above shouldn't be the norm:Most of the game should focus on the shenanigans they get into in the modern world.... but a little break never hurt anyone! Whenever you make an imaginary post put all of your text in italics, so people know it isn't really happening.
Special rule #3:What's the hold up?
Ok with people jumping in, and out of a game... there will be times that you'll be waiting weeks, or even MONTHS for someone to respond! This would be BAD. So here's what we're going to do:If you're waiting for more then three days for a person to respond feel free to take minor control of their character to keep the story going... keeping in with what the character would do of course.
Example characters
So then. Here are my two characters for this little game. They'll also act as examples so everyone knows what I'm looking for.
Name:Dee-Cafe Snow ("Dee")
Species:Dog (Heinz 57')
Age:28
Gang:Defenders of Suburbia (Role playing group that gets together on Wednesdays.)
-Appearance-
Looking at Dee the first thing that you're aware of is how content she looks. Her Blue eyes almost always half closed, a simple little smile always across her lips. The Dog almost always looks like she's on verge of falling asleep, and this may very well be the case.
The dog sports a slightly long snout, and droopy ears. Her fur color is a mix of things; blotches of Black, brown, and orangish-Brown going down her back, shifting to a pure fluffy white on her underbelly, including the 'underside' of her arms, legs, tail etc. She wears a grey-blue collar with a miniature 'eight ball' hanging from it.
-Personality-
Dee is a 'serene observer' type. Despite her lazy appearance she's very much aware of everything going around her, and has great insight into human behavior, and the patterns of the world. So much so that she might even know more then you know about yourself if you spend enough time with her. She could also be called a 'childish philosopher' often thinking about random ideas, and concept in her head. From time to time she may blurt out a long rant on what she's currently thinking about, and is more then happy to talk more lively with someone who has interest in the subject. Most of the time though.. Dee simply tags along, helping others where she can, never speaking more then one or two words at a time.
Other Notes:
-The Eight Ball on Dees Collar actually works!
-Dees high luck is not so much Luck as it is insight. Knowing where to stand, what to bring, and what to do in most situations.
-Runs a small blog that talks about various philosophical ideas, and things going around in the neighborhood.
-Lives with Espresso Snow, and views him as a brother.
-The two of them live at the coffee cafe called "The Wall" which sits within the neighborhood, a default hang out spot for many of the older human inhabitants.

Quick Character list:Name:Espresso 'Express' Snow.
Species:Cat
Age:24
Gang:THE PRESS (Espresso acts as a 'reporter', often being allowed places he shouldn't be by just waving a card he made around)
-Appearance-
Exaggeration seems to be the motto of the day. BIG eyebows, BIG eyes, BIG ears, and a tail long enough that some say it's impossible to ever see the entire thing at once. The black cats expression is almost one extreme emotion or another, and his tails twitching never seems to stop. His whiskers are quite long, straight, and white allowing the cat to slide his paws across them while thinking about his sinister plots. He wears a dark blue collar, from which a miniature camera hangs.
-Personality-
Ex's personality seems to vary from day to day, but his key trait is his need to scheme. He always must be plotting a way for himself to get 'something'. Power? Woman? Fame? Money? It doesn't mater which. As long as it improves his life it's good. He has two main masks for himself. The reporter:Always looking for that one 'big story' which will make him famous. Or the master-mind:Some silly Saturday morning cartoon show villain who has the perfect plan to defeat his enemies, and rule the world (or well city block). Lucky he tends to lack the patience needed for his plans to actually work, running into them without thinking.
Other Notes:
-Deep down? Espresso Express isn't really a bad guy. If one of his evil schemes actually succeeded he'd feel really bad! Most of it is really just a childish game to him.
-The Camera on his collar is more then just a decoration! It actually works!
-Espresso lives with 'Dee' the dog. Typically he'll either treat her as his arch rival, or lacky depending on his mood. Deep down he thinks of her as one would a sibling, which is quite common among pets who live in the same house.
-Has an online 'News' site, that reports things going on around the Neighborhood. Having more in common with tabloids then real news papers it's well known among the pets, and is particularly popular with Dany's gang.
