Oh Psykeout you rascal,
Such a wily one-

Have I mentioned that semicolons are my favorite form of punctuation? I probably have. In fact I think I may abuse them; sometimes I reformat sentences just so I can sneak one in. It makes me feel dirty; I feel like I'm manipulating punctuation for my own personal satisfaction. Sometimes I just throw; them in where they don't belong just because I can.

Also, a word of advice to those of you making small talk on the bus, "Do you have any friends?" might not be interpreted as a light, casual question.

Semicolons are awesome; the lack of them is a shame.

Maybe we should found a group of semicolons. Send them off to explore the new world, create a community.

We can call it a semicolony

If you want to be able to teleport and transform tickets into diamonds, use old spice.

For some reason.

I'm tempted to join my Graphic Novel club, but I was worried it would be filled with lots of weird people. My two friends went there and said I was indeed right. Western comics and Eastern comics. So you've pretty much got a room filled with Weebs and Comic nerds, where as I just have a strong affinity for the media in itself. Webcomics, graphic storytelling, i'm all up in that. Personally, I think it can be the most effective, engaging form of telling a story, if done right (see: Lackadaisy, Gunnerkrigg Court), and It's totally the most interesting, meaning full type of visual art. Animation does well too, but graphic novels have a few tricks that don't translate into animation form. Of course, animation moves and makes noises. It's harder to get perfected, but can communicate more at it's highest quality. In fact, I think animation is much better in nearly every respect to live-action movies, except that we can relate a little better to more realistic figures (though with good art, you can relate pretty well to cartoons).

Unfortunately, adaptations are NEVER as good as the originals. Even though theoretically, movies have potential to be far superior. The medium just seems so much more superior because no one appreciates graphic novels and their subtleties, so the effort required to make an amazing adaptation is never put into it, because it seems like the presentation will be better regardless.

I don't like comparing things. I see adaptations as a separate entity, allowing me to enjoy them as good in their own medium.

I believe the author of Fight Club admitted that the movie version is better than his book.

Adaptations are about how one plot fits in a different medium. Each medium has special ways to make it great. Graphic novels can be compared to adaptations, as long as you ask "how well did the medium work to present the story to me?"

I agree with a couple of you, the adaptations are sometimes not as good as they were intended to be. Pokemon being one of them. The manga for pokemon, is actually way better then the anime, Team Rocket is a lot more scary (Jesse, James, and Meowth are not in the books) plus at the beginning of the series, a total of five gym leaders are part of team rocket, not just one.

The Pokémon anime is not actually an adaptation of the manga, though. They're both separate adaptations of the video games. And yes, the manga is better. The main one, anyway.

Well, you have a point there, all stories of pokemon at typically different. The original one rocked, and I actually do like the other mangas that came out for genre

Darn it! Lately there has been a (not so) sneaky fox on my land. He's climbing though the fences, and snatch-en my chickens up. Trying to eat them, so I need to hide my chicks, hide my turkeys, and hide my roosters cuz he's eating everyone out here. And that coyote isn't helping either!

is it weird that I was already thinking of that song the moment you said "He's climbing though the fences,"?

PS: I'm currently attempting to draw the (mostly) human form of my shape-shifting persona so I can post it in the art thread. (I say mostly because he has wings and fangs.)
