Sounds like jumble with a shout every 5 seconds.
You wouldn't like 2Pac then
One of the best female rappers was Ciara. She didn't even need to rap about what most rappers rap about today. Unique in her own way
Another great rapper... Rhianna.... Except for recently

I'm not a huge fan of rap :/ I like classic jazz and rock n' roll!
... and maybe eighties music.
Elton John, Billy Joel, that sort of thing. But, I'm really into Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra right now.

Though it's easier to follow when we stick to a particular topic for a little while, Seth's right in that you can't exactly bring it off-topic. (If you were to just bring up random stuff willy-nilly, though, that would be bad, because it would be spam, and that's one of the few ways this thread can get derailed).

I hate the term rock music
so vague
I really don't think one can classify punk, metal, alt-rock, and more traditional radio rock as the same thing, but they all sort of get lumped together.

We had to write a song about the rock cycle in like eighth grade science because in middle school the science curricula (as is apparently the correct pluralization) are a dumb mishmash of random concepts. We covered the rock cycle, subatomic particles, and climatology within the same semester.

Not in depth, we did like two week reviews of random concepts. That's why it was so silly, because nothing was related and none of it stuck.

I got better grades in 8th grade science, but I understand what I'm doing now a lot better because the concepts are all interrelated.

If you were to watch me try to figure out something about the order of the Presidents, it would be so transparent that I'd be running through the Animaniacs presidents song in my head. And I only discovered Animaniacs, like, two years ago, somebody was trying to keep me out of the loop when I was a kid younger kid than I am now.

It's not that difficult to remember the rest of the list, though, considering we've only had two presidents since Clinton, and presumably (unless you are remarkably mature for your age) you have lived through at least one of each of their terms. Unless you have a very bad memory, you won't have to start worrying for some twenty years at least, at which point people will probably not be quizzing you on the chronology of US presidents.

Guys, a little overboard with the music talk. It seems people talk about music more here than they do in the music thread! Partially because people keep bringing it up here, and partially because so many people only use the music thread as a link dump rather than a discussion.
