Arc #53: The Mall
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
I feel bad that Monday came and went and I totally forgot to check on the HP! update. :[
Funny strip though. Made me hungry. Mostly craving Chinese. Well... Americanized Chinese.

Just wanted to say that I am LOVING the new take on Grape's look. If no one else noticed it, it's VERY subtle and has to do with the way he's drawing her fur, mostly around her face.

This point of you changes diametrically when two things occur when you're in mall: one, your stomach grumbles loudly and demands to be filled at once and second, your wallet is not in good condition.Kitch wrote:Forget that. Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Well if the Alt-text is cannon I knew that was going to happen and considering the narration I'm gonna say yeah it is.

Okay, it seems every strip I keep facepalming and asking myself why I think any of this is a good idea. I am too much like them!
Peanut just wants some alone time in the not so dark with grape is all. What's wrong with that?

Man I need to find a down escalator to run up. I'll bet it's a great workout.

Peanut is not as naive as everyone thinks XD
By the way, they don't have their leashes! Stay away from that security guard!

I assume they are being picked up after the movie; and since it hasn't started yet, I don't think there's cause for alarm.texascat018 wrote:Isn't p&G's parnet supose to be picking them up? aren't they even worried about their pets?

They are most likely with them right now as they are getting talked to by mall security.texascat018 wrote:Isn't p&G's parnet supose to be picking them up? aren't they even worried about their pets?

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Truth be told I really, really hope that I'm wrong and that its like Grape narrating (which is possible I guess since there is no tag for anyone else) and they are trapped in the mall or something like that. Because them getting kicked out by security would be really really cliched and IMO very boring, but I'm 90% sure its them getting talked to by security and they are getting kicked out.
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Pretty sure that's Grape narrating.
I had a small feeling this arc that Peanut would end up having Grape miss out on the movie. What she thinks afterwards or what Peanut thinks depends at this point, but i assume Peanut will have to feel Grape's wrath for missing out, but i'm betting she'll forgive him... somehow o_o

Pff. I do that in broad daylight; no need to wait until after hours.
Though I generally don't start at the bottom and run up. I think it's more fun to start at the top, and then once you get to the middle, just keep pace with the stairs so you're not moving anywhere. Bonus points for waving at the people going up on the proper side as they pass you.

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Yeah thinking it's Grape as well. Narrative style comes out like todays comic happens in past and it has an accusing tone, not to mention the possible implications from the alt-text. Whether they just get told or kicked out, well probably best just wait till friday. Unless the narrative was just used to deliver the joke, though I don't think there's ever been narrative before what wasn't from some pet's perspective.GameCobra wrote:Pretty sure that's Grape narrating.

Get caught, get thrown out, miss premiere, night ruined, delicious drama between the two. Bring it on.
Or another possibility is that Grape hurt herself by falling down the escalator and next we'll see her in hospital being all grumpy on Peanut. See how she goes 'Ack', her ears are pointing forward instead of backwards like she was going the wrong direction and how Peanut is barely even holding her hand, implying slipping from his grip. Okay, maybe that was a bit too wild guess.

Actually considering the title of the strip its possible she did fall.EvanAierkan wrote:

Rick, you should've gotten two people into Peanut and Grape fursuits and done this comic entirely in photographs.

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Yet another very funny page no doubt about it xD. Btw the dialogue when I've read it the first time I thought that they were traped in the mall ate night! But then as soon as I read the last part and saw Grape falling down the stairs I thought to myself "what a clever way to put the narrator as being Grape's thought lol". Awesome as usual Rick

Empty malls are strange places. Peanut's got the right attitude about it though! If I could, I totally would love to ride a bike around the Mall of America when it's empty. Or a go-kart. Or a Fiesta like Jeremy Clarkson.

heheh Max is left in the dust this time. I like this ending, glad it didn’t end in them missing the movie that would have been way to predicable. Max is jealous back there
