@Rojo Ninja
What's that you are using to show your specs on the wallpaper?

Re: Desktop Background
Does anybody know why my desktop backgrounds might always display grainy and gross even when the image clearly isn't on it's own?
For example, here's a screencap of my desktop
and here's the actual image that I use as a backdrop
Hopefully all the artifacts that suddenly appear come across on these two images
I mean, it's not a crystal clear image to begin with, but the edges are at least clean.
And yes I am self centered enough to always use my own drawings as a desktop background

Re: Desktop Background
That's what I thought they looked like. The image I use as a backdrop is a PNG, but I all of that mess appears when it's set as the backdrop (that screencap is a PNG too, so there shouldn't be any jpegs in the process). Does Windows create a duplicate jpeg of the image to display instead of the real thing for some reason?ReCreate wrote:those are jpeg compression artifacts. O_o
Oh, and on the topics of desktop backgrounds, I would definitely use this as mine if it were the right size.

Re: Desktop Background
that is the right size. 1920x1080. Can be downscaled to anything. do you have a monitor higher than that? O_oCaptainPea wrote:That's what I thought they looked like. as for your question. i don't think so. not normally. how did you set it as your wallpaper? within firefox, the image viewer? try doing it directly from the personalization panel. O_o

Re: Desktop Background
Oh no, the full size image is definitely large enough, I just don't have a way to access it so far as I can tell (they don't provide a link or anything and it doesn't have the little "download" thing on the side that would display the full sized image).ReCreate wrote:that is the right size. 1920x1080. I didn't know you could go about it any other way than directly from the personalization panelReCreate wrote:CaptainPea wrote:as for your question. i don't think so. not normally. how did you set it as your wallpaper? within firefox, the image viewer? try doing it directly from the personalization panel. It's not a big deal if I have to live with a slightly processed background image, it's just it ain't pretty.

Re: Desktop Background
It's gradient-y. It could be expanded with some work in some image editing software. o 3o But does the license of the original thing allow it? (creative commons attribute *?)Rojo Ninja wrote:Aigis. And I will edit this post with the uploaded background

never realised how small Roxas and Xion were until now.
Re: Desktop Background
There may be some scale issues, like I'm pretty sure Larxene is of the same height as Sora, but it's still an awesome group photo.

Well, by background I actually meant Rainmeter skin.
... I wasn't thinking clearly, apparently.
But thanks for the info!
