Foot (or in this case paw) fetishes are actually quite common. I don't understand why a bunch of people find the concept so weird

I don't exactly read Housepets! in order to be informed about that kinda thing.

Re: 2013/07/05 - Stamp Of Approval
Yeah, not my thing but I am aware it's a common fetish, so I really didn't find it weird. I was surprised by how many people had such a strong reaction to finding it disturbing though. This comic and many PG rated comics and shows in general have had far worse.Stripedblur wrote:Foot (or in this case paw) fetishes are actually quite common. I guess this would be a bad time to mention I had to read your signature image three times before I realized that it said "Sleet" and not "S. Feet"? Really really looks like it, and the paw-print at the end doesn't help.Sleet wrote:I don't exactly read Housepets! in order to be informed about that kinda thing.
I just found that funny considering how much you were objecting to this comic.

Re: 2013/07/05 - Stamp Of Approval
I've known about foot fetishes for a long time now, I don't find it disturbing, just... weird.
Then there are all the other weird fetishes that I've only seen in the furry fandom, but am assured that it's located elsewhere as well. (For example, vore is a fascination with the process of eating or being eaten, but with the amount of artwork I see on SoFurry dealing with it, you'd think it was another fetish.)
Anyway, I guess my point is: it's really not that disturbing, maybe a bit odd to people who don't quite get it (me included) but it could be a lot worse.
In fact, in regards to Sqeak, I actually agree with Dissension: I found it quite adorable.

Re: 2013/07/05 - Stamp Of Approval
I find it hilarious that in a strip banking its comedy on how fetishes of most sorts are seen as socially weird or even gross, there are people on this forum who really just don't get it. That stigma was just never imprinted upon them.
Some people say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. I don't know what furry comic strips that bring up the topic of foot/crushing fetishes are windows to, but they're certainly windows to something.
EDIT: Does anybody remember that episode from the first season of Six Feet Under (Which, now that I think about it, is a pretty great pun)? Because that's what I'm being reminded of right now.

The oddest part of it: Mr. Bigglesworth was turned on by it. Why else would they need a cold shower?

Since Rick hinted at this a few times before, I'm not surprised.Toboe wrote:Everyone is saying how weird Squeak is, but...
her boyfriend is JOEY, who dresses in cat suits. Are you surprised?
Anyway, I think Joey and Squeak are perfect for each other and make a cute couple. =3
However,
I think I should cry. Not because of this strip in itself, but because I've seen so much wierd in my life that, even if I hadn't of Squeak's quirks (Squearks?), I still remain unsurprised.
Yes, they did!rickgriffin wrote:This comic was originally going to be a single one-off, but there was too much setup for it. I could have expanded it to a two-part one-off (two-off?) but I also thought that Spo and Squeak never had a real introduction to one another, so I expanded it to a mini-arc.
Nay thee, I say!Argent wrote:So, Monday, another one-off?
Tomorrow, Peanut stops drawing Spot (Wait a moment! Spo? Spot? Similar names! Coincidence? I don't think so!) and introduces us to his brand new character: Rick (furret god)!

Yeeeeeah, I wasn't going to say anything, because I wasn't sure it was allowed, but I do feel compelled to ask, Did a female cat just become briefly infatuated with Squeak?RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:it was confirmed on Facebook that this one is in fact a female

Cold showers could also be used for brain bleaching.

Oh, yes! I was just trying to correct those that thought Bigglesworth was basically thinking otherwise why she was taking a shower. Forgot you mentioned it earlier though at the time of the post. my bad X3Argent wrote:Yeh, remember this?

I was about to make a Dragon Age: Origins quotation and say: "With a chisel, and lots of nerve!", but I don't know what the chisel might be for. Probably to get the cat to stop clinging to the bathroom's door.Duster wrote:I wonder how a cat takes a cold shower?GameCobra wrote:Cold showers could also be used for brain bleaching.

Re: 2013/07/05 - Stamp Of Approval
You know, just because it's "common" doesn't make it commonplace. Actually, I don't think fetishes in general are really normal, being that they're almost always noted for their bizarre nature.Stripedblur wrote:Foot (or in this case paw) fetishes are actually quite common. Wait, this comic is PG, so...? (I actually realized not to long ago that this is about as PG as family guy is)
Re: 2013/07/05 - Stamp Of Approval
I don't really think that's the best comparison to make... I mean, have you seen some of the stuff they get away with on Family Guy?Morris wrote:Wait, this comic is PG, so...? (I actually realized not to long ago that this is about as PG as family guy is)
Either way, as far as sexual references go, the most this comic really gives us is the occasional tame innuendo or mild suggestion, which I'm pretty sure falls within the boundaries of a PG-rated comic. Occasionally, there might be a joke or a line that tests the boundaries a bit (this one was) but it certainly doesn't happen enough to threaten the rating of the comic as a whole. Overall, it's still pretty kid-friendly.

As one of those paw loving furs i gotts say that im pretty much in lurrrrv with Squeak. Gotta find a way to get in on Joey and her's roleplays. Better find a cat suit first.
And on a similar note, Rick really gives his characters cute footpaws!
