Pete is starting to look more and more like a troll. Deliciously evil, but rather blatantly stupid. I agree with previous comments relating to King's adorable-ness in the seventh panel, and the Kitsune's awesomeness in the second.

Oh King, even if it is justified, your whining is making you less cute. You should fix that.

I can't help it, I like Pete. He's a monster and a jerk, but still somehow wormed his way into my heart. And of course I think the only one of the TCN I'd really trust right at this moment is the Kitsune, and that's only about as far as I can throw him.

I'm pretty sure "Tarot" was created wholecloth by the Dragon as her Avatar, like a character.

Pete wasn't happy enough to just make up a character so he took Pete. Though as bad as he's being treated it apparently is for his own good.

I mean if he were let out now, how much has he learned by hanging out with the other animals about being a caring, compassionate person? :v He still has more to learn no doubt but I'm gunnu say he's gotten a net benefit from this.

So many comments, and so many possibles of what may or what may not be the truth.. I have to say this is probably my favorite arc so far to the point that I register and wanted to say something about it.

Rather then go on a long tangent on theories, and what may or may not be the case of what going on in Ricks' mind, after coming from my DnD game I ran yesterday, I just be happy to say that I enjoy this and can't wait to see more. What interest me the most is how the term "Avatar" is being use. and by Rick Griffin comment when he stated that 'he using the word "Avatar" as the closest word to what I wanted to express' and the idea he could of use another term "champion" but he was thinking of reserving that for something else got me thinking. it wasn't till I was in the middle of making some new music that I stumble something interesting and I think I am starting to understand and I agree with Rick that the meaning of Avatar and Champion has change their meanings over the course of fictional literature and art. So now to see if the meaning used is the same what I have discovered or not.

Why wont you force King to sign a treaty to legalizing a invasion while your at it Pete.
so, Yay Pete gets a new avatar and King is now Semi free as I understand till Pete dose?

also, why did the speech bubble go from Black with to normal while Pete was speaking?

Pete can no longer enter the arena. If King is going to stay a dog like we all hope what is going to happen to him if Pete can't be his owner.

So the pet that is an avatar for one of these beings agrees to it. Are they conscious when they're possessed by them? Like, is the real Tarot conscious and aware of what's happening when the dragon possesses her? Or is there something I don't get?

Spo is the avatar for the GM
Think about it:

1) he was brought in by Sabrina, the only second part who deals with magic (or, at least, knows about it enough to share info with Tarot)
2) He may be friend to Fido, but he has no relations at all
3) He can pass unobserved in the pet community at large and note down all events without being disturbed
4) he can make fun of other pets and even give them 'suggestions' while acting as the 'happy friend'

I still like pizza.

Before Rick has to point it out, Pete isn't getting a new avatar, he has to make Joel agree to help him before he can become a full avatar. Thus Pete can't use any Mumbo Jumbo on him anymore. (Current spells/mind tricks intact)

Sounds like a good argument to me :)

I think I'm starting to like Pete more in these last few strips. Sure, he's kind of a jerk, but he's a funny jerk :P

I like how everyones' perceptions of the characters completely diverge from everyone else's.

Until they start projecting their pessimism onto the strip itself. Then it becomes annoying.

Well considering that the arc is not over yet, you can't assume anything, can you? But, once again, a number of people have convinced themselves that X must be true because it's the most horrible option or what have you

Also, King's eyes have become yellow cuz he was being controlled by Pete. Not much of free will, there...

Then Daisy reveals she's a ninja sent from the future to prevent all of this from happening. Her words are actually a translation from the future should they not understand how to speak her tongue which usually comes from the sign of gifts and hugs.

Mr. Bigglesworth is actually the Orochi coming to pick on his little sister (unnamed Spirit Dragon) IT ALL MAKES SENSE!!!

Also, for some strange reason, I now can't stop imagining the TCN as the judges from American Idol.

So, is King kind've boinked here? He can't change back to a human, it's been way too much time. Will they have to pawn him off on another Babylon Gardens owner?
