2014/06/11 - Mysteries of the Heavens

[ Mysteries of the Heavens ]

Title Text: Don't worry, Max. It was just a fruit smoothie recipe, anyway

Wonderful job, Katherine Klinghammer (and awesome name)! I guess even demigods try restarting things when they cause them trouble.

I can picture Max looking like King, just because Pete liked the pattern.

Wouldn't that make him King Maxwell? I think he'd take the change for the position and ladies he'd get(!)

He's not intimidated, our angry Max,
as he sights the mightiest of dogs.
He moves in fast, his sanity cracks;
Clearly here we see as his mind fogs.
Cerb here sees to make a joke,
to prove she's funnier than Kitsune.
It's not clear, however, which head spoke
perhaps the others are immune, ey?
She seems to like this tiny Kitty
and smiles as she speaks her twaddle
to one who wants to be tough and gritty -
to trick him is simply a doddle.

Where'd he get the pad from?

He probably stole it from Fido, which is why he needs extra muscles... :?

It was really my great and cherished pleasure to work on this. I have a lot of admiration for Rick Griffin and for this comic, and to be able to submit guest strips is an honor.
Where'd he get the pad from?
Hammerspace, of course.

And I'd just been reading the TV Tropes page on that too...

Wait, what do you mean Ryusuta is not her real name? I don't read this comic to be told lies!

But yes, this is a really awesome guest strip!

20th century fox? Given that this is the year 2020, that fox must be dead by now. Sadface! : (

No please? How rude. That must have been why he was sent away.

But really, this wouldn't be the first time Max gets the 'wake up' ending. He should have known it was coming.

Great comic, by the way! Fantastic work, Ryusuta!

Max has the 'honor' of being woken up twice. X3

by 'driving the girls wild', that sounds like a challenge. You know how those end up, right Max? :|

Everyone is being woken up by Celestial beings this week. Whatever happened to being woken up by turning the washing machine/dryer on? Cats love that. X3

Ah, Ryusuta, where to begin? Well, great art, and a dynamite story! I also love you picking up on Cerberus' various heads speaking in different colors. I still haven't figured out which is which -- the Serious Head, the Practical Head, or the sweet head...

Pretty sure the one speaking in the first panel and giving the "wake up" line in the third was the middle-head. Don't know which of the other two was speaking in the lighter speech-bubbles, but I suppose they could've been taking turns giving the recipe.

Nice and funny strip. :D Oh Maxie, you're still not canceling that idea? You're perfect how you already are, Grape doesn't need that from you (you think of other girls when you have her?) and I don't want to see you in that way! :P Get trust in yourself as you are, with all the possible defects. ;)
Even a souls guardian like Cerberus got that "waking up" power. You can't trust any demigod here... BTW, great trolling on Max, Cerberus!
Great work Ryusuta! :D

PS: you've again done the error to put the guess strips in this story arc. ;)

I don't know what to say, you guys. I am incredibly grateful that you enjoyed this. I definitely had a lot of fun working on this comic, just as with the last one.

As for the Cerberus voices, the darker voice is indeed the serious one. The lighter one is the sweet one. The practical one doesn't speak in this one.
