Housepets! Theme(s)

Post by SuperStar »

So, I was just thinking. If Housepets! was an Animation (which it should). What song would you give it as like a theme? No one really comes to mind for me, at this moment anyway. Songs that are not English are also allowed of course. Also, you can post your idea of a 'theme' for the different characters if you want! X3

Yeah, that song is fine. But it doesn't seem to fit the tone that Housepets! has gained over the years.

I imagine something more like this. I gives you that nice feel, and if feels like a song you'd have for friendship and stuff. It also is very bendable, as it can work for just a fun story, or a more dramatic story.

It'd probably be Buckdida's Housepets! theme.

The theme song of Housepets? I dunno... When I saw that first one, it made me blush into fainting. XD

I don't know your gender so I used the androgynous plural "they".

I don't think this is HousePets! material but the lyrics to this song fits the Peanut/Grape/Maxwell dilemma.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq9D6StAy50

I actually really love that love triangle. The sheer fear of being apart of something that the society might give a disgusted look upon but also finally finding the strength to let go just a little just to have it swept up from underneath.

The lyrics in this song more toward the chorus and second verse shows the relationship between Peanut and Grape and how they still have that close relation such as "Mushy Stuff" but also with Maxwell being in the picture as Grape's Boyfriend....

Give a listen it sounds amazing then you'll get it.
I Am Someone...
Someone who lives...
Someone who loves...
Someone You Can Trust...
I Am That Little Speck of DARKNESS to HELP YOU See Through The Brightest Light...
I Am Your Eternal Friend!

Buckdida's theme is nice, but I always pictured Housepets using a generic 80's theme featuring Buckdida's theme with guitars, rifts and some lasers shooting everywhere as the pets tease us with some quick hijynx - Followed by Pete giving off a laughing echo similar to Skeletor.

This is fine and enjoyable (can't understand it all without a written lyrics), but being so old and missing a lot of the comic stories and characters, it's good only for a first season (ending with the story arc number 23, with Tarot character introduction) of an imagined TV show... Better give it reworking and a different voice.

Okay, I feel like a massive nerd for posting these, but as long as we have a "potential themes" thread, I might as well add some token anime themes. Please don't hate me for it. ^^"

I'm pretty sure Rick specifically said he didn't want Housepets! to turn into a shonen manga with the inclusion of the Cosmic Nerd arcs, but the following aren't from shonen anime, so I'm in the clear!

I submit the following two songs as suggestions for the Opening Theme and Ending Theme to the "Heaven's Not Enough" arc! (Lyrics in the respective videos)

OP: "This Game" (English Version by AmaLee)
The brightness and energy would make a good OP for the arc, and I think the lyrics fit King's position quite well!

ED: "Fantasy Mythology" (English Version by Chioku)
A darker take on the Cosmic Game, working well as an ED that could come in after some of the potentially life-altering twists the arc contains. A bit dramatic for Housepets!, but I think it might work in a series all the same. ^^"
Also the line "Destined trial set to rest, sentenced by gods you resent" is too good to pass up.

DISCLAIMER EDIT: It was brought to my attention below that, while these songs are relevant and relatively safe, the animes they are attached to do not fall under Housepets! PG rating. The anime "No Game No Life" and "Mirrai Nikki (The Future Diary)" contain MATURE AND GRAPHIC CONTENT and I DO NOT endorse them for the general Housepets! reader base. Research these anime at your own risk. You have been notified.

I also love the idea of Anime music, x3
And all these songs are interesting, and would make since for the Cosmic Game. However, they come for rather unsavory Animes, :/
Not like the animes are the worst thing ever, just that Housepets! is PG, and these are, well I don't know about Mirai Nikki, but I'm pretty sure No Game No Life would M-For-Mature.

No Game No Life is most definitely M-for-Mature material for suggestive content.
Mirrai Nikki is in a similar boat, but more so for violence and graphic images.

However, the songs/lyrics I linked to are relatively benign and relevant, so I didn't think posting them would be an issue. I do not claim that the anime they are attached to represent Housepets! in any way. :3

Though, since you are correct, I have added a disclaimer to my post.

I think that if we were to summaries King journey in Arc 79(Heaven's Not Enough, part 2) through song we could use Owl City's "I'm coming after you".

Or if a faster tone was applied we could use this quicker version.

honestly? I would go with Something like "Roulette, Roulette!" (PaniPoniDash 's 2nd season opening)
Nonsensical lyrics even when translated, Confusing visuals, and has nothing to do with ANYTHING that happens in it's own series, but still has a catchy upbeat tune.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

I just remembered this song I heard last year. I think it sort of works for Housepets!, or anything in general actually.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ6xVfwSw_k
(Note: Single use of "**** no*, however I mentally substitute with "Hey no"
(Bonus Note: It appears some of the lyrics in the video are incorrect, and by that I mean it saying "problems" instead of "drums".)

Mod Edit: Even tough you were trying to warn us about profanity, don't actually post the word here without completely obscuring it with asterisks or something
