It'd be like choose your own adventure except the adventure would be full of sass from our favourite artist who would then hate us. I don't see what could ever go wrong. ^^

Is it conceited to comment about your own strip?
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Yes, yes it is. Awesome though!Douglas Collier wrote:Is it conceited to comment about your own strip?
Re: 2014/09/17 - Burned Out
And that is why we've only had one poll for a strip.
Though it also makes sense, it's a huge cast to begin with.
And I've been thinking this for a while, but I have a very difficult time seeing that persona as a Furret. Though I think it's a good thing, really.
Anyway, rest well, Rick!

Hehe. I knew that the next thing after the Heaven arc would be guest strips.

Oh it's not like I'm getting a lot of rest. Break time means I get to catch up on a ton of OTHER work I've left laying around, getting new scripts together, working on OTHER projects . . .
But I did get to work on some for-fun pictures and realized that my coloring technique has suddenly improved a lot, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Allowing myself a guest week means I don't have to be QUITE so frazzled for a few days.

Nice one, Doug!
There's a thought in the Griffin Furret head
that associates mainly with mighty Max;
a thought that makes him pause with dread,
a thought against which fear stacks.
It seems we're obsessed with pet procreation,
a habit we really should break out of;
a realisation striking across a digital nation
that the birth of life is only part of love.
The bright will come up with fresh ideas
whilst the brightest recharges his will.
We'll all be here, whatever Rick fears,
as Housepets! Has years to run still!

When I look at Furrets move pool, I can totally see Rick as one. ^^ A Furret with more talent than any smergal for the arts. Anyways have some good time off, not having to worry about housepets Rick. Also love the A&H comic you draw, so anyways just have a good time dude. You are a masterful story teller, and I have felt honored to be reading a comic you make for free. But instead of like some artists, who think free art shouldn't be given their best. You have gone above and beyond that notion, and have given us your best as well better. So thank you so much for that, and you deserve this respite from house pets. So thanks Rick Griffin for giving us a lot of your time over these years, and I'm excited to see what you come up with next.
Also you did well here Douglas, and I don't think it's shallow at all you should comment on your piece for the guest week. ^^ The way you portrayed Rick, is quite interesting to say the least. (: So good on you.

you can contribute to Rick's brave efforts by donating a few bucks to his Patreon account. Any help is always appreciated^^Leven wrote:When I look at Furrets move pool, I can totally see Rick as one. ^^ A Furret with more talent than any smergal for the arts. Still Rick. Try to at least take ONE day of rest from everything. You deserve it bro. *hugs the furret*rickgriffin wrote:Oh it's not like I'm getting a lot of rest. I would do that right now, but I have like zilch in my account right now sadly. I thought I unsubscribed from an MMO, turns out I didn't and it took all my money from me. But someday when I finally can, I will definitely become patron for Rick as he is definitely a masterful storyteller. As I know what it's like to need money in this world, to make dreams come true. ^^ Thanks for letting me know about that valerio.valerio wrote:you can contribute to Rick's brave efforts by donating a few bucks to his Patreon account. Haha, nice job Douglas! Now lets see if I can get my strip finished by Friday.
I'm thinking of starting a Fan Fiction, should I do it? Send me a PM with some ideas and names of characters!

Re: 2014/09/17 - Burned Out
My vote is for the cast (various members) visit alternative universes like they did in that one arc. Like maybe where the humans are the pets and one of the ferrets is president. Humans rebelling and the army has to disperse the crowd with gas. Of course the army is made up of skunks and, well, you get the rest...

To be fair, there's only four pet couples I think that would make nice parents. We can't just make the comic all about having kids. X3
We need some embarrassing pet hijinx. I bet Tarot secretly likes to play Nintendo games.

The moral of the story: An artist's worst enemy is fan service

Depends. There's always too much fan service, but you gotta know when to draw the line.

NO! ALT TEXT! GO AWAY! The only 2 married are King and Bailey. Unless you mean humans.
That needs to be a guest comic. Now I wish I could make good art.

Your comment and your avatar just gave me a great idea for a guest comic - Joey charges Rick to draw a comic for him.dtlux1 wrote:That needs to be a guest comic. Now I wish I could make good art.
"That'll be ten dollars."
Unfortunately I'm too burned out from drawing this one to consider doing another one - and that's why I'm not interested in becoming a syndicated comic artist. If someone draws this, I'll give you an Internet.

I wonder if Tarot has a deck of Tarot cards somewhere. *Is bricked by Tarot* If she does have a deck of Tarot cards, since her name is Tarot, would she just call them cards?

So I guess no Epilogues then? Bummer.
But on the plus side, it's good to know that Ricks gonna take a very well deserved break.
