Suddenly remembering their other charge, the hares are briefly conflicted before remembering their loyalty.
"Sorry, sah, but our orders were from the blinkin' great badger lord over there and he assigned us to protect these two."
"Aye, an' protect them we shall until he orders us otherwise as until that time we answer to him and not you." With that the pair of hares seat themselves again.
"So, about that food... Does the offer still stand, wot?"

"well then I guess I'm gonna eat my supper alone. I think ill go for a wild stew this time. But that sure is a large amount I possibly couldn't eat it all" Trevor teased at the two hares before leaving slowly to choose two other hares to go with him.
James on the other hand stood by Charles at some distance to keep a watching eye on him.

"Nothing but the prospect of missing dinner, sah!" confirms Biff with a grin.

Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately the two other hares whom Trevor picked are free to aid him. They're a pair by the name of Bertie and Harriet, a brother and sister and totally inseparable. Young and headstrong, the two are rather mischievous and relatively new to the regiment. Outwardly they give the appearance of modern soldiers but inwardly they're always looking for an opportunity to play a prank. Of course, they are devotedly loyal to Brock and would never do anything to jeopardise a mission. Intentionally, that is. There's no telling how their pranks might misfire though. Biff sees Trevor's choice and is suddenly torn between going to tell Trevor discretely and his duty of remaining with Charles and Peter.

"Heh. You're observant. Ever tried tracking?" Biff queries. "It's just that pair that Trevor picked to help him. They've a bit of a reputation. Sure, they don't mean any harm, but their pranks sometimes get a bit out of paw, so to speak. Perhaps he can whip them back into shape but given the importance of this mission he might be better choosing someone more responsible..."

Trevor led Bertie and Harriet away from the main group and onto the main trail to town. He looked around some before continuing on the trail."So I hear you both have a reputation? Mind if I ask in what?" Trevor asked in a small lie in order to get some info on these two different hares. As he walked all his senses were like radars, each one picking up different pieces of information. His paws lied within his cloak ready on his bow with an arrow close to notch.
James looked at the hare talking about the two Trevor chose hearing of their reputation. "You know biff, if anything he'll find out before they can do much. When I was younger and he was teaching me I did many pranks on him only to fail. But he held patience and instead used that to his advantage telling me of how to use this to my better advantage untill the day came" James said nearby.

"Yes, and that salt in the colonel's soup was just for a lark. He does like salt anyway." confirms Bertie, equally as clueless, making the reasons for their reputation crystal clear.

Calder responded, striding back a bit closer with the group. "Would anyone else like to join or come along? I know a few of you are talking still and that is fine of course. Owain? I might like your input on the parts actually". He went to the table to scan over the drawing again; "Besides I might need these drawings to get the right design and need to know the right size for your cart".
