Daryl's Voice

Post by FoxRocks »

Hi,

I noticed recently that Daryl seemed to have a strong accent, kind of "cowboy-like" in my opinion. I know people were imagining him with that voice, but I don't remember him talking like that before. An example it that he says stuff like "Fer" instead of "For". I don't remember him talking that way before...was his voice changed?

I don't see why he'd have a different accent than the rest of the pack, as they probably grew up together. Then again he does seem to have a few different mannerisms in his speech.

maybe he likes watching westerns and just picked up some of the slang?
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Maybe he picked up the accent while hanging around his coyote cousin?
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

That's probably a better explanation as coyotes are for the most part out west.

I'm not sure it's exactly "cowboy" so much as just Southern.

Southern, western. Point is that it is a very wonderful accent.

Not sure why he'd have that dialect when none of the others have but Rick's never said that Miles and his brothers grew up in the same region together! Besides, it's cute. Daryl's my favorite wolf.
This, pretty much. Also note that Miles has a pretty large pack for a semi-feral wolf pack, or at the very least we've seen just so far.

Here's some fun behind the screen facts.

Even though Miles and his wife and cubs all live directly with the ferrets, not all of the pack lives there. Some come and go as they please and we don't really directly know which regions they all call home.
