Way to get me curious Diss, but PM me so we don't derail the topic.
I know somebody already said that they said "I love you" to somebody over the phone, but I did that just now when I was making an appointment for my laptop. <_>

Re: Another awkward moment
That awkward moment when after asking why everyone is so quiet this morning and realising that it's because it's Monday morning and near the end of semester and we're tired, the lecturer offers to stop the lecture halfway through and continue it tomorrow and everyone laughs because they think he's joking but he's actually serious and then everyone has to tell him that we want to continue after all.
That awkward moment when you realise how long and convoluted your previous sentence is and you hope everyone can make sense of it.

From what I've figured out so far, it has something to do with two cows, a Dell laptop, and an empty box of store brand tissues. I think it was a set-up for a joke but you forgot the punchline.

that awkward moment when you realize that your writing is so big your fan fiction will only take up a paragraph, when it took up several pages of your notebook.

Re: Another awkward moment
Here's an awkward moment of mine when I went through the drive-through for lunch:
Me: "Hi, can I have the large popcorn chicken combo, please?"
Server: "Sure. Is that with the popcorn chicken or just with the chips and drink?"
I literally sat stunned for a few seconds before replying that yes, I did want the popcorn chicken in my popcorn chicken combo.

Next time, ask them for a different combo, then ask to substitute whatever the main item is for the popcorn chicken. If they question you, tell them this story.

I can understand that. I worry that the story that I'm writing will have chapters that aren't long enough but they do come together when I edit them. (Why do I care anyway? Nobody reads or comments anyway. )trekkie wrote:that awkward moment when you realize that your writing is so big your fan fiction will only take up a paragraph, when it took up several pages of your notebook.

That awkward moment when you're cleaning the shower and you accidentally bump the shower head and get a face-full of water and then you accidentally bump the tap so the shower head dumps water all down your front.

You used to write fanfic? I never picked you as a writer. Does any of it still exist? I wouldn't mind checking it out. ^^Foxstar wrote: I remember when I had that problem.

Ooh I have one
The first time Render PM'd me he wrote in German, albeit with translations. The fun part was floundering with my poor Deutsche trying to say it wasn't my native language.

That awkward moment when you're reminded that you wrote somebody in German and then search for that PM to check what you did...
Found it.
It wasn't in the first PM, my first PM to you was one day before that and it was in English. The other day I got a PM from YOU in German - so you started it, don't complain here now! xD

It wasn't a complaint, just awkward. Though it feels ever more so. It's always nerve-wracking speaking another language to someone who's native in that language.

Re: Another awkward moment
This reminds me, when I first said hello to hukley (unless it was render, it was to one of them on Skype) I sent the message in German as I thought it was more polite to attempt to speak his native language. I used google translate so I wrote that as a first warning in the message before saying hi. Then he responded in English and I felt plain silly.Deske wrote:It wasn't a complaint, just awkward. Re: Another awkward moment
I don't think Google translate does the grammar correct. It just says the word, it doesn't change it based on I, he, you, etc. I haven't used it in a while though, just for single words.

If I had to translate something big, I would do it one word at a time which actually would be a pain.

Es ist sehr leicht wenn Sie wissen die Gramatik
(Something along the lines of: It is very easy if you know the grammar.)
Also if you have someone to tell you what you messed up

Awkward situations
So today, I was almost late for class. I had to go to the back building running and since my backpack probably weighs more than I do, I had to do that weird penguin run all the way over there.

Re: Another awkward moment
So in my first class today, which was Religion, some of us had to do a group presentation. This guy suddenly turned to me and asked, "Hey, we're presenting today, right?" I assumed he was one of my group mates and said, "Nah, we already did ours." And he looked confused and said, "Really? We did? When?" And I got confused too and said, "Uh... last Monday." And then he said, "What's the topic again?" And I said, "The Nature of the Bible." But he said, "No it's not." And we just kinda stared at each other, then he said. "Wait... you're not in my group." And then turned away all awkwardly.
Hehe, what a nice way to start the day.

My mom does that even when I call a jumpscare coming on.Hlaoroo wrote:xD What a great time for it to go off! I was just sitting at my computer.

It's especially annoying when it's a sudden, non-scary action scene that my mom screams in alarm.
"MOM! STOP MAKING ME WORRY ABOUT YOU!"
Okay, so this one is going to be funny.
My friend asked if I could go out with any superhero lady, who would it be?
So I said "She Hulk, because I'd like to know a good lawyer. If I can't get her, then probably Matt Murdock."
And when I said that last part, I meant get a lawyer, not a date. But that is not what it sounded like, and my brother wouldn't let it go until we got home.

I haven't really had an awkward moment for a bit now. Odd...
I guess TAM when you don't react the way everyone else does. I don't get excited as easy, mostly it's just a smile but I just don't let it out and get visibly excited. Smiles and clapping but very few cheers.
