Reginald waved back, though not with much enthusiasm. It was true what they said about assuming, he thought. It was a good thing the human intervened, otherwise things might've gotten ugly. He could feel both Boxer and Bullet stirring now. He figured he should find his room before they got the chance to take over. He walked over to an ani-droid rabbit and asked, "Excuse me, ma'am, are you the one that will help us find our rooms?"

He had a sneaking suspicion this wasn't where most job applications were discussed, a feeling that grew harder when they arrived at a door and entered. "Of course," he said, swallowing nerves when she asked if she could be informal. "Thank you.". He turned to the Leopard Anidroid. "And thank you, too.". He took a seat and wondered if his ear was about to be chewed off.
The woman sat down, hands crossed on the desk top. "Well, Sir, I really wanted to say it to you by person: My most sincere congratulations."

Now he was confused and his left ear twisted sideways as he tried to think of what he's won or done. He knew the lady had the answer to the xquestion so he should ask her. He felt he needed to find the right words but all he thought of to say was "huh? Um. This... this is about the job applications?"

That depends on you," Maud said. "You know, I followed personally every step in the creation of our firewalls and security. Then you come aboard, and within 20 minutes you have disabled our wristband as easily as you could take a drink. And believe, it is impressive: those gadgets are supposed to stay online and connected to the ship's systems unless they get destroyed. Yet you can turn them on and off." She looked really pleased now. "How did you do it?"

The single door opened automatically, and both passengers stepped in.
The seatbelts locked automatically once they had taken seat. The doors closed with a hiss...
Then the control panel lit up.
And the wheel-shaped vehicle lifted up with a hum, as softly as a piece of paper pushed by a gentle breeze.
The car started moving. The rabbit-droid produced a wristband from a compartment in her chest. She gave it to Reginald. "Processing registration. This is not our regular procedure, but medical emergencies take over. Do you have any symptoms to report?"

With who he is, I've never been able to get a single moment alone, ma'am. Whenever I've tried, my father's security has found me. I used to lie on my back and look up at the stars and know the twinkling light that moved was a drone watching me. I... I went to the supermarket once. Just once. I had to practically BEG to be allowed. Three security droids went with me. One to watch over me and two to clear the shop of the other customers. I've been surveilled every moment of my life, ma'am. I knew that there wouldn't be much threat here - if there was, my father would have brought a bodyguard - so I just wanted a little time to myself is all." He sniffed and chuckled. "We'll keep an eye on each other!" Avery calls back, turning around to give a salute to Helmut and Asur before weaving her way out of the registration line and into an open space, making sure her newfound friend was following behind. The canine wasn't sure if she had to go through the registration process hersel or not. Not having a handler accompany her she heard something about most of being taken care of for her. Oh well, she'd deal with it when it came.

Her worries didn't last long though as she took a moment to look around and get a sense of just how large this ship was.

"Wow... They really weren't kidding when they said it was big..." From the air she could already get a sense of how humongous the ship was, but being on the surface... She looked from one side to the next, unable to see the end.
"Soooo!" She jumps and does a spin, landing so that she was facing the genet. "I think it'd be a good idea to explore some of the hotspots on this ship before it gets too crowded. Oh! And maybe swing by the medical ward and at point too to get familiar with the facilities before I have to go to work tomorrow."

She did a small dance as she thought. "You said you were linked to the ship right Jemmy? Anything in that network of information suggest a good place to start? Orr maybe somewhere we could solicite some sort of tour?"
"Sleep is due to me... And I have a dream to live."

The woman listed intently, not showing the least sign of emotion. Only when had Francis finished, she smiled and said, "Thank you. But, after all, the whole ship is programmed to maintain the best security for all passengers. Am I upset? Yes, because for all the layers of said security, all the tests, it took one passenger to find a glitch in the most unsuspected place.
"But I am not upset at you, Francis: You did, in fact, do a good service to us. So...since you spoke about 'job application', would you like to contribute with a consulence or two?"

The rabbit nodded. "The ship's databases contain all clinical information, that mut be provided without restriction or exceptions. We cannot guarantee appropriate cures because of inadequate information. Of course, privacy is guaranteed to all levels. We anidroids are neither living beings nor members of society. As part of the computer system, we know everything, but we are also bound not to reveal anything that would violate one's privacy."

Jemmy nodded. "We should start with registration. Without the wristband that identifies you as legitimate passenger, there is no place I know you could get to." The genet joined the line that was getting shorter and shorter. "Don't worry about the ship getting crowded. There are 25,000 passengers out of the 50,000 allowed. The otter didn't skip a beat when he searched through the resident identification list from the ship's megaservers, identifying the man as Martin Foster, father of Alcor and Mizar.
"One set of vegetable sandwiches for Foster-sama. Mizar-sama, may I confirm your order of the pan-grilled gilt-head bream?"
"You are most welcome to," the dog answered. "And add some dog biscuit in my husband's sandwich," she added with a grin.

"Ab...ab...absolutely," Francis stammered, excited almost beyond words. "I'm always good to... to be the Factor X." He sat back. "Wish I'd had time to see Perth," he continued. "The Swan bells, the WACA... At least now I can show I can do this! Oh," he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small circuit board set-up with a link to connect to the watch, "this is the item. If...if not sent from very close by the signal would be noted. This... this transmits over just the few millimetres."

"Well, you can divulge that information if you want. The sooner it gets out, the less we will have to explain it." Reginald said as he turned to look out the window. Yet again, the view managed to leave him speechless. Yes, this will be a good place to live. There must be plenty of new residents, human or otherwise, that could use his services. In fact, why not find out about some of them? He turned back to the ani-droid rabbit and asked, "Pardon my asking, but is there any chance you could tell me anything about any of the richer residents? I would like us to be able to get an income from more than just Ramona's paintings, and I believe the rich residents are more likely to want a butler than the rest."

"Whaaaaa? Okay!" It was Avery's turn to follow after Jemmy into the new line, shifting her feet from foot to foot as they waited. She was clearly impatient to get to see the amenities this ship provided. "Well if we're getting our wristbands maybe we'll get to know where we're gonna live!"

After a few seconds the dog was doing small hops in place. "Oh oh! We're gonna get to have neighbors! I've never had neighbors before... I wonder what we'd all do to build comradery in our community, we probably don't have any front lawns to take care of... Hmm." The dog suddenly stops hopping as she went into deep thought.
"Sleep is due to me... And I have a dream to live."

At first Makani doesn't pay too much attention to the Canadian Eskimo dog and the genet droid that joined the line behind him as he's waiting for James to answer him. His inattention is brought to a rude and painful halt though as in her impatient hopping, the dog isn't watching where her footpaws are.
"OW ow OW! That's my TAIL you're STANDING ON!" he yelps, wincing.

"Very well, one set of pan-grilled gilt-head bream with lemon dill white sauce, one set of vegetable sandwiches and one set of pickles and mayo sandwiches with a side of dog biscuits," Hajime smiled. He pulled out a small notepad and a fountain pen from his pant pocket and jotted everything down. This only served as eye candy and manual backup however, as the order list had already been compiled in his memory storage and sent via Apollo City's SUI to the kitchen's servers.

"I have sent your orders to the kitchen, and we will deliver them to your rooms within 5 minutes. Is there anything else that I can do for you, goshuujin-samatachi?"

His inattention is brought to a rude and painful halt though as in her impatient hopping, the dog isn't watching where her footpaws are.
"OW ow OW! That's my TAIL you're STANDING ON!" he yelps, wincing.
It took a moment to register that someone behind her was speaking to her. But once she felt the long appendage under her feet she quickly hopped off and did a three-sixty spin to face the bearer of the tail she had just been standing on.

"Ohmygoodness! I'm so sorry!" Her hands animatedly went from her cheeks as she apologized, down to gently hold the feline's free tail up to her eyes, scanning for an damage she might have caused to the flexible appendage.
"Are you alright? Do you need any medical service? On a scale of one to ten how would you rate your pain?"

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Ab...ab...absolutely," Francis stammered, excited almost beyond words.
Maud took the gadget and examined it. "Yes. Simple in design, most efficacious. Again, I am impressed: And you built it under the scrutiny of your guards. How did you do it?"

AnimeNerd88 wrote:"Well, you can divulge that information if you want.
The car stopped, Elen looked puzzled. "I am not sure I can comply to your request. What kind of information do you need without violating privacy? And, exactly, what kind of services do you want to offer to who? According to the common definition of 'wealthy', every passenger, save those who won an online lottery to be here, is rich. And no, I am not authorized to divulge your clinical conditions. You must ask authorization to the head of medicine department."

"A nutritional packet, type-28A, would do now," a Elen-unit said, approaching. "Passenger makani Montgomery, registration line C, needs to be properly fed while waiting. Please provide now." Then she walked back to the jet-black bombay cat. "Sir, I have asked the waiter to provide you one packet of our own dedicated food for your needs. I can assure you, it will suffice while you wait for registration to be complete. The staff is ready to help in case of urgent medical need. Will you be needing something for your tail?"

I can assure you, it will suffice while you wait for registration to be complete. The staff is ready to help in case of urgent medical need. Will you be needing something for your tail?"
"Fumu," Hajime nodded. He ran a instant background check on the passenger's name, noting the special diabetic diet requirement, and double-checked that the packet ordered was in line with these requirements. A second later, he sent the order to the kitchen.

"My apologies goshujinsama-tachi, but I believe I have to attend to this order personally. This passenger requires immediate nourishment due to his medical conditions. If you have any other requests, you can forward them to the other waiters." He pointed with an open upwards hand towards the Elen anidroids near the counter. "Be rest assured, if you require my personal services, I will be more than happy to do so. With that, please excuse me." He bowed towards the group, and headed for the kitchen in a brisk walk.

Once there, he picked up the nutrition packet, a sealed aluminium pack that you could drink the contents out with a straw attached at the top, and placed it on a silver tray that he began to carry with one hand towards the registration counter area. Internally, his augmented emotions core registered 2% annoyance and 3% grumbling; he preferred to stay with a patron until they leave the restaurant, and he felt that the Elen-unit was rather crude, but that was to be expected. He was manufactured with an emphasis towards intimacy and subjective close bonding with his attendees, an artefact from his original purpose as a butler's cafe waiter, unlike the Elen-units, who was built for optimum amicability and efficiency. He understood the difference in methodology, but his emotions core produced these negative emotions anyway. He dismissed them and soon felt normal again.

Soon, Hajime arrived at the registration area, with the throngs of residents and tourists in line beginning to wane a bit. He picked up the location of Makani via the Elen-unit's position using GPS, and went to that exact coordinates. He bowed down towards the stunningly handsome Bombay cat, and extended the tray towards him.

"Good afternoon, Montgomery-sama. Here is your food, as requested," the otter anidroid smiled. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

((OOC: If tl;dr, then just read paragraphs 2, 4 and 5. I felt like writing a lot somehow. Also, Fumu is the Japanese equivalent of an affirmative grunt. Edited a bit from grammar.))

"Aye, they do!" Makani responds equally dramatically. "But we'll not go quietly! We'll take as many of them with us as we can! For FREEDOM!" The cat strikes a noble pose and projects his voice through the crowded lobby.
"Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men! It is the music of a people who will NOT be slaves again! When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!" he sings, only slightly out of tune. After all, he's been taking lessons and since his tutor couldn't join the ship with him he's organised to continue his lessons with one of the lead performers in JD's troupe.

Grinning after he finishes his song, he turns to the otter and takes the packet.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks, um... Sorry, I didn't catch your name, Mr. Otter." he says, taking a sip and pulling a face.
"Blarg. I know this thing is supposed to have all the nutrients and stuff but I think those scientists need to work on the taste a bit!" he grimaces, reading the label on the bag.

The otter kept his smile and stood back up straight as he waited for Makani and the Eskimo dog to finish their dramatic play and performance. The slight off-tune singing did turn on his musical functions though, and he had to hold himself back from singing along to both accompany and guide the feline. He made a note about this and saved it into Makani's profile in his head.

"My name is Hajime, waiter of the main restaurant of Apollo City. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Makani-sama. Brilliant performance, if I say so myself."

When the black cat pulled a face, his smile waned. "If I may speak out of line Makani-sama, I personally agree with your observations. Food, no matter how simple it is, has to taste good and have the right texture and flovour to bring out each of the ingredients' potentials. If you like, I can escort you and your friends to the restaurant after your registration procedures are complete."

James moved back to his original spot, having heard the commotion, but smiled when he saw it was already taken care of. He watched the little scene play out, standing quietly. At one point, a child had dragged her mother over to him, entranced by the well-dressed Jackal android. She began to play with his tail, giggling at the feeling of the soft synthetic fur. James payed it no mind.

Roux peacefully sliped his way through the crowd with an expertise that came from growing up in a big city. He had a special made fedora on his head, a small bag with various tools of the trades, and a trumpet hanging by his side. Around his neck, in his personal fashion sense, was a black leather collar with silver fittings. Hanging from it was a tag that looked like a little skull, minus the bottem jaw. As he slipped through the crowd he was tempted to give the security personnel the slip and make his way in, but instead he went straight over to someone obviously doing something with tickets and slipped in to talk to them.

"Why, hello their. I'm just on my way to board your fine vessel as I make my way from Louisiana. So, cher, I was wondering what I should do with mah ticket. You see I won it fair and square in a game of dice, and I even have the signature of it's previous owner right on it. So how about I get one of those fancy wristlet things and move along nicely eh?"

He gestured for the bot to see a group of other people having a similar conversation, albeit without his charm or circumstances, across a little ways away.

The sisters had wandered around the entry platform for a minute before they took notice of the little group with anidorids and trays, "What's with all the gogglers goggling the goggled today?" Said a slightly forlorn Delilah.

Tee gave a slightly off grin as her voice subtly changed, her drawl giving way to a more proper tone, "Perhaps this is merely our luck to miss the action this way. As we can see, some of us already have had bad run ins with luck." She finished with a chuckle, pointing to her eye patch.

Delilah gave Tee a pouting face, "Taylor! No morbid humor before breakfast and or lunch!" Despite the chastising humor induced cracks in her pout started to form. She turned back to the group and sighed, "Welp, we might as well head somewhere else. And if we don't stumble upon a food area we'll just ask the bands for directions." The two started to head away from the entry level.

"Oh goodness!" The canine was taken slightly aback by the otter's chivalry, her free paw placed against her heart in a very surprised and princessy manner. Maybe there was blush on her face, maybe there wasn't. In fact Avery did a quick glance around the perimeter to ensure that she hadn't accidentally wandered onto some sort of film set. First a revolutionist feline sang for the freedom of his people (though admittedly she may have started that one), and now a samurai warrior was kneeling before her.

"Well my name is Avery, Avery Johansson, it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Mr. Hajime. I am quickly learning that ani-droids come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities." She did her best impression of a lady-like curtesy before leaning over to whisper in Jemmy's ear.
"I bet your owner wouldn't mind if Asur took some traits Hajime had and integrated them into his personality."

"I'm thankful for the grace that you have bestowed upon me, Avery-sama," the otter replied. Another peck of his lips on her hand, and he stood back up, still gingerly holding it. "A beautiful name, signifying wisdom and guidance among the people, a beacon in times of despair."

When Avery asked about the contents of Makani's meal packet, he had initially wanted to answer, but found that it might reveal the male's conditions, and he was not sure whether Makani is comfortable talking about it, so he kept mum.

The man nodded to the ani-droid. "Thank you very much, ah, ma'am? It's our turn at the desk now. See you later. I think."

Maud nodded. She moved her hand over the desk top's surface...and as if it was a living thing, the surface moved and a section of it transformed itself into a keyboard! "GTE bought the patent for a MIT idea and improved it. You'll find this technology a lot useful." She quickly stroke keys until a holografic contract, just as if a paper sheet was floating in mid-air, appeared in front of Francis. Another section of the desk moved and produced a white, plastic pen. "Sign, and I will then introduce you to your rakning officer."

Neon Icy Wings wrote:The sisters had wandered around the entry platform for a minute before they took notice of the little group with anidorids and trays, "What's with all the gogglers goggling the goggled today?" Said a slightly forlorn Delilah.
"Oh, I know something about bad luck," said...a black cat. A female, but definitely not of the 'girly' type. In fact, she was well-built and looked like she could pick up a rottweiler anytime. And her eyes were of an intense, granite-like grey. Despite her appearance, yet, she would speak with a kind, almost soothing voice as she introduced herself to the sisters. "But please forgive my manners." She extended her paw. "Nessie. Nessie Shore, but you may call me 'S44' if you want."

The Elen-unit looked...puzzled as she examined the papers. "Admittedly, this is...unusual, Sir. Can I have your ID? I also need to contact the original owner of this ticket, procedure--"
"I will vouch for him," said a human voice, a woman's. A woman dressed for the red carpet, all in white, and fine golden jewelry, long black hair and slightly dark skin. She caressed Roux's neck, in quite the confident manner.
The Elen-unit nodded. Her eyes scanned the ticket. "Very well, Ms. Sandine." She handed the ticket back to Roux and gave him the wristband. "Have fun on your trip, Sir."

"Oooohhh," Francis ooohed, watching the fun before taking the pen, spinning it between his fingers and using it to sign willingly. He was almost hopping with excitement now.

The holocontract signed, it disappeared, and so did the keyboard.
"Good: No hesitation, I like it in my employees. Ready to meet your superior?"
