I suppose I should ask what's going on at the docks, cause... that's the direction I'm coming from.

There's a lot of people around there. They could just march up to Flint. Your call though. ^^

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
No problem. Alec's owner is talking to Flint after Alec just fought Ben and won. Aurora brought her owner back and he's waiting his turn to talk to Flint and James. Cap'n and Matey are talking to a very drunk cat in the bar and the rats are trying to stay unnoticed as Rocea talks to Isabella, the 17th Century Fox. And that's about it.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Character Name: Fay
Color: Drab #967117
Type: Main
Species/Breed: Armored Rat
Age: 1.5
Neighbourhood: Impudence
Appearance: He's about the size of a rat, and looks mostly like one too, except that his back is covered in porcupine-like spines. He's set himself up as trying to be a rat among the rats, but with his unique apearance he would never really fit in with that crowed. He sets himself up by keeping out of their way, though if he lifts his spines he can deflect most attacks from the rats and even the large carnivores hired to kill them.
Personality: Fay is the strong arm of a two man operation, hard back holding his life together as most attacks won't really affect him without hurting those who attack him more. He isn't much of the sociable type, coming along as a young fluffy rat looking thing, he grew up and his back grew hard spines like a porcupine. His defence is second to none and while he may not appear all that smart at first glance he has a strength of mind as well as of body. He's more the silent type due to being rejected for his spines, and now tries to stay out of most business.

Character Name: Wisp
Color: Cadet #536872
Type: Main
Species/Breed: Long-eared flying mouse
Age: 1
Neighbourhood: Impudence
Appearance: Not really a mouse, or a squirrel for that matter, Wisp is a little guy with a big tail. Able to glide like a flying squirrel, which he may or may not be closely related to. He's so much smaller than many of the regular rats that he only manages to get higher then them with his long scaly tail. He manages to have a beneficial relationship with his larger friend Fay, who uses his armor to protect himself while letting the much swifter little guy get the goods and scamper up a wall before gliding away at speed.
Personality: Wisp is a nifty little guy, fast and intelligent, charismatic but not much of a leader. He is fairly fast and quick witted, always getting his little butt and his long tail out of a jam, but he can always end up talking himself into one as well. He relies on his burly friend, thick hide and all, to help him as he uses thieving ways to get their eats. Although they occasionally find themselves as real members of the crew, they usually end up failing and losing their place but always keeping their way on the boat.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Sorry, but the rules of this RP say no insectivores because they're too hard to feed on a ship at sea. That post is here. Also armadillos can't thermoregulate when they're wet and they're adapted more for the cooler climates so he's not going to do well at all on a ship in the tropical seas of the Caribbean.
So, you'll need to pick another species. Sorry.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Alright, two new creatures that should be able to make it on the ship alright. Thieves and thugs, looking for adventure and maybe a bit of a life of their own but holding out due to unique skills. From africa and south america, small ranges, incredably unlikely pair of rare creatures with something to prove. Do they work for you guys?

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Well, a frugivore is going to have a hard time on a ship, especially if the ship gets becalmed. Fruit isn't easy to store during long voyages at sea.
I like them both as characters but being so small they're not going to be seen as useful on the ship so the Palgrave won't welcome them. They'd have to try to fit in with the rats and since they're not rats they may not find that easy...

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
It's likely that the fungavore can eat other stuff, not enough is known about it. I'ma say that it has the same diet as the average mouse rat or squiril for conviniance because of its thing.
I figured that they would try and get with both the rats and the crew and not be able to realy fit in, but having a hard time to get rid of them because of the one's spines and hte other's speed and flight.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
I just can't see how two creatures that small are going to get to the Caribbean or why they'd leave their homes in the first place, sorry.
They'll never be considered part of the crew because of their size, and like I said, the humans and NPC pets will treat them as pests like the rats so they're going to have a hard time. They might make friends with the player pets but again because of their diets they're going to find life on a ship very hard.
From what I can see on-line, one is a frugivore (fruit, not fungivore/fungus), and the other is a herbivore whereas rats are pretty omnivorous.
Consider, when making the characters, their back stories. There has to be a reason for them to be in the Caribbean and they have to be creatures that are going to be able to survive at sea.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
What about pine martens, Argent?
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Actually the one is a Fungivore primarily as far as we know and the other eats Fruit, bugs, and plants. But I can start over again.
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Pine martens would satisfy the need to play cute animals, while being credible members of a ship's crew.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Seems so, unfortunately. I'll give it another plug in the main OOC though.
I've been waiting on CosmicCoyote so I'll poke him again to see what he's doing.
