Things you finally noticed on rereading
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Things I didn't notice on rereading: Why did fido handwrite the letter to Sabrina? http://www.housepetscomic.com/comic/201 ... -are-down/ and what's the trinket have to do with it?
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Some feel that a hand-written letter has more emotional value? Best I can come up with, there.
As for the trinket, it was probably to get Teox to head to her place, as he's supposed to protect the treasure, and Sabrina could go therapist while he's there. Also, Fido decided to show Sabrina how it felt to have someone dropped on you out of nowhere.

On the "Among Thieves" strip, I noticed that when Simon is telling Steward about his dream, that Steward says "Again". Curious to know who was in the closet the first time.

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
I think that's the point of the joke! I also remember a strip where Fox says "not again" and it's just up to the readers to imagine what that's referring to.

If you mean this,
I think it was revealed with this,
which is a flashback.

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
One thing i noticed after reading for the second time was Cory getting his bubblegum ducktaped when he got arrested https://www.housepetscomic.com/comic/20 ... at-a-card/
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Okay, in the last panel I think Sabrina is referring to the time she and Grape dated so Sabrina can avoid getting married to Jata.
The second panel, I believe Grape is talking about the time she and Peanut accidently watched Fido and Sabrina make out.
But, I must agree, Grape knows alot about Sabrina

Well I played myself, you're completely right... Although the implications of Sabrina and Grape having had a thing are certainly interestingHellishK9 wrote:Okay, in the last panel I think Sabrina is referring to the time she and Grape dated so Sabrina can avoid getting married to Jata.

Some people will do crazy things to be around someone they admire.

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
that was actually mentioned in the alt text for that one.
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Well to be fair I started noticing alt-texts preety late on the first reading, so it was new for me
I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet, I kinda maybe recall it being pointed out somewhere but it might be my mind messing with me.
Tarot called it three years prior (red) and Sabrina got it almost right (green, suggesting she did see it but didn't want to "spoil" her future)

It wasn't posted cause everyone knew it I guess.

So...how do you drink from a can of soda with a curved beak? Best I can think is a straw or leaning your head farther back.
Yes, these are a few of the things I can get caught on.

...How many times have you read Housepets again? That's some next-level attention to detail there.D-Rock wrote:

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
I think it's less "how many times did it take," and more "what just so happens to pop out this time?" I don't re-read the whole thing very often, but I do go back to certain arcs at random times. But justifying things has been in my mind for several months on certain topics.
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Rick's (I think) pet is a balloon in this parade
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
And an ice cream pop.
And in person.
Ponbon, as this little guy is named, is from another one of Rick's works. It's adorable whenever he shows up.

I missed so much stuff!
Wait king was a pup in year three?!?!

I'm not too sure...
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
De-aged in the sense that he's not an old dog(20 would be pretty oldish). Also probably cause he's short,
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
"Pup" is easily considered the equivalent of calling someone "kid" regardless of their actual age, very often to one who is simply younger than you. We do know that Fido is one of the older dogs, so that could be why he viewed King as such. The only thing I recall about King's age is that he's the dog equivalent of his human age.
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Hmm so Ralph would be very old then, no?
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Possibly. He was already an officer in the Housepets Babies arc, and he carries himself the most maturely, at the very least when on duty. We've never seen "casual" Ralph outside of a guest comic. Even at a party we didn't see much in "casual".
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
I've always assumed Ralph was currently in the equivalent of 30s.

Wow now THAT is consistency!Xane wrote:So that's where Chauncey's head ended up after the explosion! Not A Furry wrote:

Now there's a find
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Okay, another thing that took me too long to realize.
How did Jess fit her face in the hockey mask?
and why did I never think of using that in our project?

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
Fox had his allowance reduced sometime between 2011 and 2014. Here he says his allowance is big enough that he can replace king's watch without even knowing the price of it, but here he can't afford to take a long distance phone call for even a few seconds to see who's on the other end.
This comic has several character callbacks including Rex's passion for baking, Grape's taste for dog biscuits and Sten's pre-established urinary issues.
One more- In the early black and white comics, if you look closely you'll find Bino (and sometimes other dogs) are actually shaded light gray.

I'm pretty sure that was the whole point of that comic. Also considering Sten's only appeared like three times, that seems to just be his character at this point

I just now noticed the unclosed quotations mark in the text and that he closes it with his hand.
Sometimes I forget about the alt-text....

But he got him the wrong Animal Crossing

Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
These strips are foundational for several arcs and potential future narratives, ain't they?

City Folk is a Wii game, isn't It? Can't come up with an explanation for a large Wild World case except for art error.
Re: Things you finally noticed on rereading
I noticed a button suddenly appeared in the sixth panel of "Fuzzy Lifting".

Is it just me, but did the kangaroos get a bit of a redesign? Specifically their legs. Or is it just me?

As compared to how they look now. Their legs seems much more plantigrade now.
