Gotta start packing to move. I don't really need to until this weekend, but my closet is a mess and I want to get it cleaned up a little. Plus I need to organize some stuff. Little bits every day.

Browsing the forums after being absent for 5 months.

...probably not the best time to do that as I've got two more weeks of exams.

Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Missed a connection. Stuck in the airport until 6AM when the next flight heads out.

Only 8 hours and 4 minutes left.

EDIT: The smooth jazz is pretty nice.
EDIT 2: Asked to exit by TSA. My previous 4 hours during in a chair meant that I posed some sort of security threat.

Watching the final match between Ke Jie and AlphaGo. Ke Jie has tried 2 unique strategies thus far (but AlphaGo is still 2 for 2), so I'm curious what he's going to do in this match.

Considering the idea of an animated TWTSST series.
As I gaze upon the stars, I realize how much I will miss this world.

Helped load the animal shelter van with dogs and cats on their way to new homes in New Jersey. Our county has a lot of problems with cast-away and quasi-feral animals but through the internet we've almost halved the numbers. We can find owners, get them checked out on their end, and then put them on the van - there's a national network of vans and drivers moving short hop to cross country.

In some states, their stray animal population has shrunk to very few. They need animals to adopt. We got too many and so many are euthanized. These caravans have cut our death operations in half.

If you don't have a companion, your Peanut or Grape is waiting ..... Regards.

Went to the range with Dad. I ran 40 rounds through my Winchester. Good groupings at 30 yards with the peep sight. Still got it.

I’m just imagining a corgi shooting a Winchester and being blasted backwards by it like a shotgun. X3

Today I toured The Alamo and strolled the River Walk. Very pretty.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Took Sophie for her first long walk in a while. We encountered a pretty large garter snake. Lots of tail-wagging and some hissing before we pushed on. Wretched hot day, even for a serpent.... Beer and porch day otherwise.

This is a bit late, but Ferret asked me to describe the Con I went to, and this seemed the most relevant thread to place it in.

The NOVA Open Tabletop Wargaming Convention 2018

We have tournaments in Warhammer AOS, 40K, Necromunda, Blood Bowl, X-Wing, Star Wars Legion, Infinity, Flames of War, among others. I'm not in any of those, I play some of the games, just not at competition level. I work at the con as an assistant Army Appearance Judge, and as an administrator for Capital Pallete, (Our model painting competition).

Anyway, I had fun. Some members of the 501st Legion were around in costume, We had a Ukulele group play in the lounge one night. If you're into wargaming or miniatures at all this is a great con.

Doing the accounts, taking Sophie to the vets, and then walking the shore to make sure no on steals the Atlantic. Sunny day but wind's frigid.
