i guess the fourth wall was one of the things that got demolished in the explosion.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Well, that's kind of Homer's (and Heidi's) thing. Perhaps they are aware that this is all just a fan comic?
Come to think of it, there have been a few moments that somewhat break the fourth wall in the Housepets! series (off the top of my head, https://www.housepetscomic.com/comic/20 ... and-atlas/ https://www.housepetscomic.com/comic/20 ... s-tragedy/ ).

a world that will somehow not have the problems of inadequate food production and insane overpopulation that are inevitable in the scenario i just suggested but i'm totally going to gloss over that!

Well if everyone ate the fruit to supposedly become a god, they would no longer need to eat ever again and can bend physics and make the planet bigger via magic(k).
...Then again, we saw the celestials eat/drink at the diner, so perhaps they do go hungry (or is it a style thing to sort of blend-in with the mortals)?

Quite a bit of symbolism in the snake handing her the fruit. ;)
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Hehe, I got it. It makes one wonder how useful psychic powers would be if all you got were glimpses of the things that will be regardless of what you do.
In case it wasn't made clear (I confess I'm not great at writing) or for those who just started reading this fanfic, Homer's future- as well as their past prior to meeting the demigods- cannot be foreseen. Not to give anything away, but the reasons go beyond the lantern they were carrying and will come to light soon (maybe?).

......and I finally got caught up with this strip just in time for a cosmos rendering explosion!! Gosh, dryideabat, if you've had half the fun doing this strip that I've had reading it (along with Hamm's beers of course), you're really havin' a blast. Always eager to see what results from a spectacular plunge when a body hurtles towards a far below relief map. Thanks for your art, humor, and story-telling gifts. Regards.

Thanks for the kind compliments NHWestoN  . This odyssey into weirdness has been as much fun for me as having a beer made of ham (Just joking, I know better... It's a beer made by Jon Hamm, right? ).

Actually, Hamm's is a sort of ethnic beer brand from the American midwest. I picked up a taste for it while living in Madison, Wisconsin, the state capital and may still be a good comic town. Real hard to find now as opposed to some of our more mass produced brews .... and I'm slamming this commentary into reverse right now before I blunder into a "battle of the brands."

Looking forward to more of your creative ingenuities, yer honor. Regards.

But they're in space- how can they breathe much less hear anything? My explanation/excuse is that there's still residual artificial atmosphere that was bound to the structure by intense magic(k). Also, it's a cartoon- what do you want?

Whether you enjoy this or not, have a Merry Openermas everybody. :D

Going off on a tangent here, but here are some other possible versions of Heidi. New shoes made out of wood are included with the Disney version.

Well, I'm almost done with this series.
I had an idea for an interim demigod that might be in the next strip. He's a green jackalope named Jach.

Can you guess the characters other than Zach that inspired my design for Jacques? Hint: they were created by Rick Griffin.
