I'll start.

Once upon a time, there were some gods and godesses
I think they were playing tabletop RPGs
But then one day a player wanted all the glory
If i were them then I would try to stop him in a hurry!

It may be a cultural thing, but I have no idea what this game is about.

According to wikipedia a hoedown is a dance, and that's not helping me to understand the rules of the game. Can you please explain them?

Hoedown is a game in which all four performers form a line across the stage and sing a hoedown about an audience-provided subject, with each performing four-line stanzas (unrelated to each other). The same basic music is always used, and the stanzas typically follow the same AABB rhyme scheme with the fourth line as a punchline. The last line of the last stanza is repeated to end the song.
