ALERT: We have confirmation of a father. This is not a drill.

We also have confirmation of super squirrel jumping ability. Also it’s only been half an hour. That explains why Lois was able to talk to him even during exams. They hadn’t started yet.

He went for “Granole” and not the “Sugar Crack,” shame on him.

Unless he normally wakes, eats and goes to school in fifteen minutes or so I'd say thirty minutes is a bit of a compression here. Hour and a half more likely. (Lois contacted at least a half hour back.) Squirrels are fast but do they get compressed time?

Examining the world he woke in,
judging everything by its size;
entering the kitchen for breakfast,
his belly is smaller than his eyes.
He’s become quite good at jumping
and climbing is a speciality too;
these things have come on naturally;
perhaps his common sense will too?
Can’t blame him for going nutty,
and taking a boost from loose grains;
after all, finding you’re a Squirrel
is the mother of all growing pains.

Granola is a smart choice. Is that just a coincidence or is Marion aware that he can't eat all the same foods that he used to?

Big deal. Come back when you have any info on where Andy from Toy's Story's father is, and then we'll talk.

I must admit, kid got ahold of the situation real quick. Really looking forward to more!

*Sigh* perhaps it's for the best that the creature that has hearbeat at least thrice as fast as a human (unless Argent corrects me on this) NOT to eat the crazy sugar rush cereal.

We have reached Stage 4 “deal with it” so now Marion is going through the motions of trying to adapt while holding to his sense of self while simultaneously remaining in denial that his life is completely different and is about to get much harder from here on out.

It turns out this squirrel's natural predator wasn't a raptor or neighborhood dog, but cereal. In all seriousness, he shouldn't be any more dead than when his backpack fell on him. Why is the label on the box spelled GRANole instead fo Granola?

Honestly not the worse idea. Borrowing from Over the Hedge for a second, if he did achieve super speed then that might solve his current issue of being a prisoner of circumstance inside his own home. He runs to the school talks to Lois, takes his exams, then story over. Happy ending. Well, except he’ll still be trapped in a female squirrel’s body but at least school will be dealt with.

Should've gone with the most well known brand - Corn Flunks.

Gotta admit, alot of detail is put into Marion's lifestyle in this one arc at this point. This is the kind of details I actually wondered we could get regarding Peanut and Grape through one-offs, but luckily 11 years was enough of it x3

EDIT: also, Peanut and Grape did it so much faster. Marion is taking his sweet time, but that's due to the whole transformation adjustment thing. x3

actually, RSVP is an actual thing of it's own and means "Répondez s'il vous plaît" or 'please reply'. it's uaualy put on invitations of formal events as a reminder that you should let the host know you're going to be there or not. it has nothing to do with RIP, and the person you picked it up from is likely either: an idiot, a cloudcookoolander, or trolling their audience. and given the opinion of humanity that years in customer service has instilled in me, i'm going with option A.

First off, I have to say that Rick does details like the brands and boxes of the cereals very well. Granola is a pretty good choice for a squirrel’s diet, I wonder if he chose that because he is now a squirrel or whether it was something he ate when he was human. I can’t disagree wit his dad’s advice, I’ll have to keep that in mind.

I've actually wondered about this in real life. Watch any random sparrow move its head. It moves so fast that your eyes can't see the actual movement; you just see it looking left, then looking right. You can't actually see its head turning, though it has to turn. I've tried moving different body parts that fast, and I can't. (arm, fingers, foot, etc.) So, either certain animals have very unique muscles, or they're experiencing time differently.

Think about the old saying that time goes faster when you're having fun. What if that were actually true? It seems like you do less when you're having fun than when you're not.

That doesn't actually have anything to do with how fast its perception is, because when you turn your eyes don't turn smoothly with your head, they jump from point to point... even if you move your head slowly to try and see a smooth turn your eyes actually fixate on one point after the next, and your vision actually shuts off and your view is filled in by your brain's knowledge of your surroundings during this "saccade". So even the slower speeds that you turn your head you're already moving your vision too fast for you to perceive.

This is also why some people get dizzy in some video games because they simulate a smooth motion where real life is "jerky".

I can only assume that he attempted to call his Dad right is failed attempt to call his mother. If Marion’s father is anything like mine then either he’s too deaf to hear it, left his phone at home because he mistakenly took a calculator to work instead, or it’s just off/dead. Still makes me wonder what they both do for a living that they’d BOTH be out of the house at 7:00 am.

I’m more thinking by the time he got to school it would have worn off so not to worry about silly things like physics and “real world” logic.

I think Rick didn't show us Marion trying to contact his dad because it would be too similar to the comic of him calling his mom.
Speaking of his mom, if he just made a mess of squirrel food on the floor, it makes it a lot more likely that his mom won't believe him upon returning home mistaking him for vermin. If that happened, he'd get chased out of the house and left at the mercy of whatever character finds him first.
Speaking of other characters, I feel like he's probably gonna meet up with one of the neighborhood dogs first. I also hope he meets King, because I'd love to see King's reaction to another transformed character.
And speaking of King, wasn't he supposed to get a job? Did that ever get resolved?
