Kolt was still a little woozy from having his “sensitive spot” rubbed like that, that it took him a second to realize that Jenny had kissed him. He got very flustered, and words started spilling out of his mouth before he had a chance to actually think about them. ”T-t-thanks for that Jenny. It uh, made me feel nice. W-wanna go out t-to dinner with the rest of the team?” He said, before his face froze in a nervous smile and he started screaming internally. WHY DID I MAKE IT A GROUP THING!?!
I do not know. The others would likely enjoy some food after such a long day.
I KNOW, BUT I WANTED SOME PRIVATE TIME WITH HER!!
Then why do you not simply retract your statement and say you want it to just be the two of you?
BECAUSE I’VE BEEN QUIET FOR TOO LONG ALREADY!! IT’LL LOOK WEIRD IF I BACKTRACK NOW!!!
.....You are making this far more difficult than it needs to be.

Liz and Lewis both froze as soon as the Hobomancer mentioned the exact nature of the upcoming threat. They shared a look before Liz, without saying anything, walked off and went upstairs. After roughly fifteen seconds, a muffled scream could be heard, like someone was trying to vent their frustrations into a pillow. Eventually it stopped, and Liz came down stairs. ”Thank you for your time Mr C. I shall make sure to heed your warnings. In the meantime, I’m going to go see if I can find out where to get some sparing practice.”
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?

"OK," Jenny replied after a few seconds of thought. "but I understand Hive is bringing food down to the hotel tonight to make sure it's safe so a team meal may need to wait a few days if we're all eating... in our rooms?" She sighed. "Speaking of which, we'd probably better get to the hotel before the rest of them? Get neighbouring rooms?"

"The attempt to allay concerns is appreciated," Corp mentioned bluffly.

"Um, O...Ok," Saffy said, failing badly at trying to sound nonchalent. "Um, this... this way," she added, heading towards the next room to be made up. She realised she was walking faster than she usually did...

Without thinking about it too much, Sarah gave Cailean a quick lick back. Then, thinking about it a little, she had the grace to look a little embarrassed. "Uh, sorry 'bout tha'," she offered quietly, following Cailean's lead.
"It's sweet," Dabry confided to Aggie in a stage whisper behind his hand, "but it's probably best there's no 'gag reflex' in heaven, hmm?" He grinned to the young lady.

With a gleam in her eye and a grin Aileas licks Jim's cheek, causing the older dog to blush a little too.
"Nothin' wrong wi' showin' some affection, lass. Dinnae be embarrassed."
Now it's Cailean's turn to look embarrassed and slightly grossed out. After all, no one likes seeing their parents making out.
Conall, on the other hand, laughs aloud at the expression on his brother's face.
"Grow up, bro!" he signs.

Aggie rolls her eyes, expressing in a whisper behind her own paw her vehement agreement with Dabry.

Tatiana remained silent for a moment, absorbing Hivemind's words, before speaking, "Y-yes sir. I suppose I, uh, should. Before dinner I think..." She turned to walk away, her movements stiffer than before, as if her mind were preoccupied by something, before hesitating and looking towards the Hivebot. "Uh, is that all sir?"

Romeo gave him an odd look as if he didn't quite believe him, "... Uh huh... As long as you feel like you're okay I'll leave it be, but if you every don't, please come talk to me. I didn't take this job so that I could blow people off." He shook his head and chuckled, "Eh, with all those brains I'm sure you know how you feel. Just don't push yourself too hard."

------

"I can't believe you just told someone who can repair entire starships that you didn't want to break a garage door," Chris chuckled as he took off the helmet and hopped out of the pilots seat. "I'll humor you this time though," He said as he walked towards the front office.

------

"Bushed isn't even the half of it," Colorado said as he closed the door behind him, stepping over to his love and, wrapping an arm around her waist, planting a kiss on her muzzle. "But I always feel more alive whenever you're around," he said, mentally chastising himself for being so cheesy.

After a few wrong turns, Denver found his way to Sana's place. Flowers in hand from a kiosk he had found on the way, he straightened his attire out before giving a quick knock on the door.

"Um, yeah, yeah, yeah," Saffy said, her nerves causing her to forget how many times was normal to agree, "it's good. It's um, quiet right now but, when the hunting season is on? Whew. Lots and lots of people. You'd love... No, um, you're not Celican so you probably, um, wouldn't. No, um, no offence." She stopped at the room and prepared to open it before seeingthe stranger walk up to the reception... and, indeed, what he'd walked from. A mischievous grin took over her face. "Uh, dad," she called, eliciting a muffled noise from one of the rooms upstairs. "I think you need to deal with this. The, uh, transport we were told about has arrived." She held a handpaw up and started with five fingers. Then four. Then...
"*****, **********" shouted a voice from upstairs.
"He's seen him," Saffy laughed. "We can go in now." and she led the pair into a room with a large, bare, bed with a mattress made of a toughened, rubber like substance taking up much of the room. A simple replicator that had seen better years sat on a tabletop, next to a kettle and three mugs. A Vidscreen took up much of the wall opposite the bed and there was a bedside cabinet and a chair. In a room off the main was a shower and a re-enforced toilet. "We got two rooms capable of taking Equinna," Saffy explained. "They're, uh, very big and heavy. I heard you had a couple of la... uh..." she paused, realising she might be insulting superpowered people. BIG ones.
-----------------------
Meantime her father made it to the Reception area and offered Chris a hand that still had a feather from a rapidly deployed pillow caught on a claw-tip. "Welcome to the Motel," he said, with breath that smelled like he'd recently eaten several breath mints.
----------------------
"So, ye were the Captain of th' local fitba' team," Sarah asked, trying to change the conversation as Dabry picked at the remaining foodstuffs, trying to stay out of it. He'd once admitted to having a nickname to Sarah. The 'Black Cat'. It wasn't original but how was he to know it was the nickname of Sunderland F.C? It... hadn't won her over.
----------------------
"I'll have to see what I can do to charge you up," Seena replied lightly, before removing her gown so Colorado could see the new clothes. "That," she said, patting the exposed fur of her belly, "is so you always have a window, yeah?"
---------------------
Sana opened the door vocally and poked her head out from the bedroom, allowing it to be followed by the rest of her in a moderately cut green dress that almost covered the fact she had boots on, having neglected to pack the shoes that went with the outfit. "I thought I was picking you up," she asked. "Isn't that how these normally go? I'm so out of touch with this sort of thing?" She smiled and licked her hand to pat down an errant tuft of neck fur. "You're looking handsome," she said, coming to accept the flowers. "Would you like to come in?"

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"So you're the LEGION, eh," Messalca queried wryly, as she assessed the multi-personality bot she was looking at. "OK, let's go set you up with whatever else you need at the Station, yeah?" She clapped a reassuring hand on Legion's shoulder and winced as she remembered he was metal hard. "Actually... I moment. Deputy Falco," she said, calling over her youngest, sprightliest, deputy before heading to Gadgeteer. "Sorry," she said, "couldn't help earwigging what you said. I've seen threats destabilised by the guy or whatever they're frightened of doing something silly and an idea sprung to mind. Reckon my deputy could fit on your shoulder?" She glowered down the protest from her deputy. "Silly and Police Escort might make them feel doubly safe."
"Absolutely not." Gadgeteer growled. "I'd rather face an army of angry villagers than humiliate myself. Besides, I do not need the town thinking I'm taking one of them to go, so to speak."
Buster wrote:"We have helmets. just keep the faceplate closed when we're outside. no need to hide." Kol deadpanned, pointing out the orbit-drop gear much of the team are still wearing, despite a quarter of said suits being in various states of disrepair at this point.
Gadgeteer scowled at Kol for a moment, considering what she said. Then he sighed and pressed a button on his helmet. His visor and faceplate closed over his face. "This isn't going to do much. I'm still pretty obviously Varanian just because I'm an eight foot tall reptile."

---------------------------------
Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Yeah," Hannabelle replied, "and I think Jenevive's softening. Usually she says 'you're not dead, then'? Today it was 'glad you're not dead'. I'm winning her over!"
Gear laughed. "Glad to hear it! Ya should introduce me to them sometime." he said. "So, shall we head to the theater?"

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"I, um, I..." Saffy swallowed to compose herself as she realised she was embarrassing herself in front of one of the Lycan's team-mates. "I'm Sarafina. Or Saffy. I prefer Saffy. Dad's in Apartment Four and..." Her brain caught up with what Recon had said and demanded the answer to one question. "Champions make their own beds?"
~\Rook/~ wrote:"Of course we do! We're still just people, y'know?" Traci said in reply to Saffy's question. "Aaanyway.. I am, as you heard from Recon, Traci. Traci Shwarte, a newer speedster Champion. Pleasure to meet you Saffy! Now let us help you get these rooms ready for the others, eh?" She finished, gesturing for Saffy to lead on.
Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Um, O...Ok," Saffy said, failing badly at trying to sound nonchalent. "Um, this... this way," she added, heading towards the next room to be made up. She realised she was walking faster than she usually did...

Recon smiled and nodded her head when Saffy mentioned the heavyweight champions. "Yeah. Gadgeteer and Kol. Gadgeteer's my old partner, and Kol's a recruit." Recon started explaining. "Gadgeteer's an eight foot tall hunk of solid muscle. Kol's an eight-or-nine foot tall hunk of solid muscle with four arms."

Recon started inspecting the room. She thought the accommodations were good, and suitable for Gadgeteer, but there were a few things she thought could be improved. The replicator, for one, didn't look like it was in any condition to print the massive meals that a Varanian like Gadgeteer needed. Other than that, there were just a few basic things to deal with. Sheets on the bed, for one thing, and new pillows were needed. "Do you mind if I take this one?" Recon asked. "I mean, can I help fix things up for Gadgeteer? It'll only be a few minutes."

SeanWolf wrote:Hawk's eyes lit up as they entered the armory as he never seen this many weapons in a long time. While some he didn't recognize, most of which he did, with some bringing a smile to his face, "Well, I for one would love to see someone try to take my guns as...well, as I showed you earlier with my other side. I gotta say, this is a excellent armory...I don't believe this..." Hawk's attention was quickly brought to that of one shotgun in particular. Walking over to it, he places his paw on it and quips "Man, I haven't seen one of these since the Centurion VI Miner Rebellion." Picking up the gun, he kept he aimed away from the Hivebot and instead aimed it at the ceiling, admiring the sights and reacquainting himself with the gun, "I tell you one thing, you load this puppy up and point it at a crowd of idiots...the only one walking out of that will be the one with this gun," he tells the Hivebot as he puts it back, "Although I love this gun, I prefer the guns I have on my ship, like my double barrel and revolvers...apologies, I just got a bit distracted by the weapons here" he chuckles.
Hivemind cast a slightly judgmental look on Hawk as he was far too enthusiastic about the lethal potential that gun had for mass murder. "If you pick a weapon, pick wisely. That gun you just grabbed will not fire if there is even one unarmed, surrendered, or civilian target in it's AOE. So that "Crowd of Idiots" would have to be a "Crowd of deadly superpowered idiots who are trying to kill people" or that gun's just a paperweight. Same with any explosive weapons or other AOE weapons. All other weapons will not fire if pointed at a civilian or surrendered opponent. If you are to use your own guns, they must have these safety modifications installed before your first mission."

Hivemind led the two of them back out of the museum and to the train station where they waited for the maglev to arrive. In only a couple of minutes the three of them were once more speeding through the capitol district skyline. The train sped around, between, and even through the skyscrapers of the city on it's way back to the Capitol District main Transport hub. Hivemind knew where the Predator drone was exactly, and was waiting for the right moment. "The Predator drone is close by. When we take the next corner, you should be able to see him if you look really closely." Not long after that, the train started to slow down as it approached a turn. It rounded the corner, and the train passed right by the four-story-tall Predator Drone's head, which was visible right next to the train out of the window. His head was about as long and large as the train car itself. "There he is!" Hivemind said cheerily as the train moved on towards it's next stop.

~\Rook/~ wrote:Rika nodded to the Hive bot. "Ah, Alright. Thank you by the way, Hive, for keeping an eye on him for me.. With all these missions I don't think I could've kept up with him." She said thankfully as she followed the droid, looking down at her feet at the last part.
Hivemind took notice that Rika looked a little guilty. He turned to her and put a metal hand on her shoulder. "Hey. It's fine. It's not your fault a bunch of demons picked now of all times to start trolling the universe." He let go and continued leading her towards Jaken and June, stepping through portal door after portal door. "I'll tell you what. Tomorrow should be slow, assuming yet another demon doesn't decide to attack. Why don't you take tomorrow off and spend time with Jaken? We can also see about getting you some equipment upgrades if you'd like."

Nat said, "By the way, how many millions of dollars are houses here?"
"I will see what I can do about visiting Zevian. It's not one of our regular stops though, so it may be a while." Hivemind said. "And houses cost you nothing. A roof over your head is considered a right for everyone on the Beacon, not a privilege for those who can afford it. Same with food. If you're short on money, you get three free meals a day at the public kitchen. Other free services include health care, schooling, and anything with "Public" attached to it."

Hawkfang42 wrote:"Got it, Captain Hivemind." Brad replied, and followed him.
Hivemind led Brad down to the public kitchen where he saw The Lycan and Arctos both putting their trays away with slightly swollen stomachs and satisfied looks on their faces.

"Lycan, Arctos, I'd like to introduce you to..."
"Another recruit?" The Lycan interrupted. "That's two in less than an hour. You sure there aren't any other vets on board?" he asked.

"Gear just got back, but he JUST got back. He hasn't even left the hanger yet. Plus, he's... with another recruit, I suppose you could say." Hivemind said.

"I see... Good for him. I thought the two of them would get along." The Lycan said, nodding, and apparently knowing exactly who the recruit was. "So then..." He held his clawed, furred hand out to shake Brad's hand. "Welcome to the Champions. You can call me The Lycan."

He turned his unseeing gaze on Liz, Lewis, and Corp in turn. "At least this way I can tell you how to prepare." He said.

The Hobomancer took a seat on the couch, and Snowball hopped up on his lap and started purring. The man absently scratched the cat's ears as he explained further. "There is no amount of sparring or equipment that can face a full avatar. Bring a tank, it will turn to ash with one glance from the dracolich's dead, hateful eyes. Bring an army, and all will be slaughtered. Mortars, snipers, orbital ordinance will be brushed aside with no effort. In order to fight a demon, you need an angel. "Prefer not to install anything on my guns, tell the truth, as I keep all my guns unloaded 24/7" Hawk explained, "I only load them if need be and, when I do, the ammo is located in me ala the Other Side....to put it simply, it's how my blood and that side works." As he returns to the bot, he looks at the other weapons then quips "You do realize even with all the safety measures in the universe on a gun that someone will always find a way to deactivate said measures? Kobor meanwhile has tromped over to a console and pages through it for a few minutes before finding an interesting looking variety of manta ray, and waving the hive drone over.

Tatiana nodded lightly at Hive's suggestion, "Aye sir." She turned fully that time and began to walk away, her second shell following, albeit more jerkily than normal, as her mind became occupied. She neither knew the area nor where her comrades were, which would be a pain later, but as it stood currently, it worked for Tatiana. She looked for a secluded area, and upon seeing one sat down with her back to a wall, her second shell joining her a second later. She merely sat there for a moment, Cheshire grin staring into nothingness, thoughts new and old flitting through her mind before she let out a sigh, and turned her focus towards contacting the aspect of love. Focusing on how much she cherished her shell, her only link to whatever past or beginning she had, she spoke, "Diligitis..." Her modulated voice almost became monotone, that enunciated each letter of the name with purpose.

"I will see what I can do about visiting Zevian. It's not one of our regular stops though, so it may be a while." Hivemind said. "And houses cost you nothing. A roof over your head is considered a right for everyone on the Beacon, not a privilege for those who can afford it. Same with food. Corp allowed himself a shrug as he tried not to feel the confusion and worry in the room. "So we're soldiers of light in a war against the dark, Liz?" He paused for a half second. "Sounds exactly like the job we had three days back." He stepped beside her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Nothing we can't handle," he added, trying to sound confident. "Now," he continued, "didn't Hive say something about Nocturl wanting a word?
Want me to go see him alone or with you?
"

"Told you he was big, Dan," Keeva grinned.

The deputy 'decided' to escort the group to the Hotel anyway, keeping out of the Chief's way and walking several paces off the Gadgeteer just in case. His little gun was kept in its holster. He couldn't remember having to draw it before today and he really didn't like the thing. It felt like cheating.
------------
Saffy nodded, still a bit unsure of what to say. "That, um, that would, um, help, yes." she nodded, thinking about setting up the next room and nipping back to the laundry to get the sheets and blankets. Hey, she thought, perhaps dad can off-load that Human drink thing he got onto the Blaidd guy she'd just seen?"

"Depends on who you're asking. Maybe I was nervous so I thought I'd make the first move to kick off date night," He said with a smile, stepping inside when she offered. "I could say the same for you, maybe beautiful instead of handsome though," He said, giving Sana a once over. His gaze started back up after it had reached the bottom of her dress before snapping back down. He squinted slightly, just barely making out the outline. "Function over form I see," Denver grinned.
------
Colorado took the drink and gave a long whistle, "Good pick up lines, good clothes, hot date. How'd you ever find it in you to settle for me?" He stepped towards her, setting the drink on the coffee table and wrapping his arms around her midriff. He spun her around to a seat on the couch. He headed towards the kitchen, pausing to nod his head at the bag, "And what's this?"
------
Chris resisted the urge to wrinkle his nose at the overbearing smell of mint and instead met the mans hand with his own, "Thanks, we're looki-" he stopped as MT stuck his head through the front door, "We're looking for the key to the garage."

Sana laughed despite herself as she looked for a vase before deciding on a long neck tumbler and clipping the stems to put the flowers in with water. "I was never very good at dancing," she said, "and I had to pack light. Want a drink," she asked, getting a can of the Canine drink from the fridge. "I've got no idea what's in it but the Canines go nuts for it, I hear."
---------------
"Well," Cherry Seena confessed, handing him the bag, "I couldn't just buy myself clothes, could I? It's a bit touristy but..."
---------------
"Ab, dab, blip," Saffy's dad said, his brain stalling at the sight of MT until he shook his head a few seconds later. His ears popped back up from where they'd fallen. "Uh, yeah. Got that. Right here," He produced a key and decided he'd have to get his truck out first. He led the way to the Garage.
---------------
"Never gonna be a motor mech," Saffy said in passing to Traci as she waved to MT. "Way too mucky."

June meanwhile has picked out a seemingly random selection of items after spending a lengthy time being indecisive, entirely because she doesnt know which items are the best ones and totally not because her player is unfamiliar with this kind of food and didn't know what to write for several weeks.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

"You and me both, though I might know a couple steps," Denver said, eying the drink with a mix of caution and intrigue. He settled on at least trying it. "When in Rome," he said before taking the drink and bringing it to his mouth. Tipping it back for a few seconds, he stopped and swished it around in his mouth, trying to place the flavor. With a gulp, he swallowed it, "So it's like... Tomato juice? But it doesn't taste like tomato juice. Just the texture. Honestly it's not that bad. You tried it yet? He said, offering the drink back to Sana.

Colorado pulled the shirt from the bag and held it out in front of him. "I love it!" He set it down and stripped out of his own shirt, putting on the slightest of shows for his love as he did, and slipping into the new one. "Solid fit too. Wish I woulda known that I was supposed to bring a gift..." He stepped toward Seena and planted a small kiss on her muzzle, "Thanks, love."

"Great," Chris said to the Celican. He leaned over toward MT on their way out, "You enjoy this way too much, you know?"

”O-oh, right. Forgot about that”. Kolt said, glad to get some alone time with her. He stood up, doing some minor exercises to make sure Jenny’s little surprise didn’t mess with any of his muscles, before looking back at his girlfriend. ”So, how about I fly and you tell me where to fly to?”

”Except then we weren’t in an actual war, and the light vs dark thing was a lot more metaphorical.” Liz said, letting Corp’s hand rest on her shoulder for a few seconds before brushing it off. ”Now, let’s go ask Hivemind where Nocturl is. I swear, of all the people to turn into ghosts, it’s the one whose name is derived from the Latin word for night.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?

"Let's follow the big guy," Jenny said, pointing towards Gadgeteer. "He seems to know where we're going."
----------------------
Seena put her hand on the emblem over his heart after kissing Colorado back. "Apparently the icon is local script for 'one' as well." She smiled lightly at him. "Figured it was appropriate."
---------------------
"Not yet," Sana replied, gingerly taking the drink. She was pretty sure it wasn't bad for Celicans but wasn't a Tomato a plant? Could you drink a plant? She gave it a small sip. "Seems OK," she said, thinking it was weird, "but probably more for Canines. Where's Rome," she added, changing the subject.

Welsh Halfwit wrote:"Um, yeah, yeah, yeah," Saffy said, her nerves causing her to forget how many times was normal to agree, "it's good.
BIG ones.
Recon smiled and nodded her head when Saffy mentioned the heavyweight champions. "Yeah. Gadgeteer and Kol. Gadgeteer's my old partner, and Kol's a recruit." She explained. "Gadgeteer's an eight foot tall hunk of solid muscle. Kol's an eight-or-nine foot tall hunk of solid muscle with four arms."

Recon then started inspecting the room. "Do you mind if I take this one?" She asked. "I mean, can I help fix things up for Gadgeteer? It'll only be a few minutes."
Welsh Halfwit wrote:Saffy nodded, still a bit unsure of what to say. "That, um, that would, um, help, yes." she nodded, thinking about setting up the next room and nipping back to the laundry to get the sheets and blankets.
"Alrighty Recon! We'll start on the other rooms." Traci said happily. "Er, how many rooms are there? We won't need every single one.." She added, looking around.

As he returns to the bot, he looks at the other weapons then quips "You do realize even with all the safety measures in the universe on a gun that someone will always find a way to deactivate said measures? Even the safest of living beings always have a fault to them. Same time, even with those safety measures, a gun is still deadly."
"Even so, a civilian can be in the line of fire without you realizing it. They can be behind the target, or on the other side of a wall where you can't see them. Also, that wasn't a request. If you are to use your own weapons, I will require they have some of the safety features installed in them." Hivemind said. "As for the safety measures being deactivated, I am aware. That is why they are constantly being updated. By the time someone figures out how to get past the safety measures, those measures have changed. In addition, if someone tampers with or steals the gun, or if they try to deactivate the safety features, I will know about it and I will trigger the weapon to self-destruct. Like so..." Hivemind picked up a small, outdated peashooter of a gun and held it in his hand. The gun started glowing, then cracks started to form. Finally, the gun imploded in on itself, crunching up into a useless and unidentifiable mass as if every part of it were pulled to it's center by some kind of magnet. "That's a newer feature. And no, you don't have to install self-destruct capabilities in your own weapons. This is just to keep beacon tech out of the wrong hands."

Hivemind nodded and started entering details of the new host bodies into the computer attached to a heavy replicator. He took various genes from various insects, and designed the new arthropod to be large enough to hold Talya's core. Reinforced legs, a lighter and stronger exoskeleton, even lungs so it didn't immediately suffocate before Talya could take it over and mutate it. The manta ray was a bit easier. All Hivemind had to do was make sure the body was big enough to hold Kobor's core. He hesitated a little bit, still hung up on some of the ethics of creating life specifically for a parasite to take it away. After a few seconds, he pressed start on the replicator. The train pulled into the station, and Hivemind led the two out. Predator apparently had followed the train, as his giant head was leaning down level with the elevated train platform. It's robotic eyes fixed on Dan and Keeva. "Hello. I am WAR-313, though most call me Predator. Hivemind mentioned you wanted to speak with me?"

"Hmm," Dabry mused, looking up at Aggie. "Oh, sorry. I've learned never to interrupt a Geordie talking about Football." He smiled. "So tell me about you, Aggie. What was it you were going to be? Your dreams, if I can ask."

"Were ne'er good 'nough for St James's," Sarah explained, "an' too tough f'r them south'rn jessies," she added, nodding towards Dabry with a wry grin. "In t' end, ah got rusty."

"Well, we've got a few already done," Saffy explained, carrying the next load on her head with one hand to balance it, "but I really wish I had your speed now," she added, keeping up the same pace as she had before. She used the card to open the door lock and took a more usual grip on the linen to start setting it down.

"Well," the older Celican said, "I have a small pit, an anti-gravity boosted hoist for vehicles, wide access, lighting at three levels coz we don't get a lot of natural light through the trees, standard tools, wheel balancer, brake lathe - though you probably don't need those? An engine analyser, a hover motor scanner - old but still works and, um, other stuff. We're in the sticks. It's best to try and think of a little of everything. And I'd better get the truck out, I suppose," he added, coming to a barn like structure and opening the main doors to let MT see inside.

The Deputy noted the dour expression on the Varanian and the worried and scared faces around that were feeding and reflecting it. He reclicked his holster locked and walked faster so he was beside the Champion, shoulder to... well, just above the waist really. "What did the Grape say when someone stood on it," he asked rhetorically. "Nothing. It just let out a little wine. What do you call a Rabbit with a Carrot in each ear? Anything you want, it can't hear you!"

"Heya, Pred," Keeva said cheerfully, waving to her big friend. "I just thought you might like to talk is all? About anything? Oh, this is Dan, my boyfriend. Dan," she added, "this is Predator. Pred for short - if he likes it - and he's my newest friend."

"You mean about the Dracolich bei..? So that's what that's like," he concluded as the Hobomancer vanished. Corp headed over to take up the petting of Snowball. "Well YOU seem to like him," he told the Cat. "Is it odd that I'm already surprised we know something before the Hivemind guy," he asked the three others in the room. (Including the Cat)

CyberDragon wrote:Hivemind nodded and started entering details of the new host bodies into the computer attached to a heavy replicator. "It's a lot to print. It will take a moment. What specifically happened to you two again?"
Kobor once again demonstrates the struggle of making one of these metal husks expressive, even if he's not doing so consciously, as it makes the sound of a sigh, but the posture doesn't shift in quite the right way. "Without their host having certain biological components to keep a Machine-Kaal fed an oxygenated, their lifespan is measured in hours rather than years. exposure to tall, fat, and ugly, killed those necessary components." he explains in an annoyed grumble, wondering why predator didn't pass this information on already. "As for me, my host body technically should have died four different ways the day i landed on this side, but didn't due to a combination of my own stuborness and your doctor's gift. problem is, it's has been under stress ever since, no chance to recuperate. something was bound to give."
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

"Well, I was asking Saffy really.." Traci said, trying to count the rooms in her head.

"Let's see if I can do the same as Recon with this room.." She added, taking a few steps back out the door. "Okay, brace yourself Saffy! 3.. 2.. 1.."

And with a similar gust of wind as Recon did, Traci flashed around the room cleaning and making the bed. She even moved Saffy carefully out of the room all within the same timeframe as Recon, albeit slightly faster and a little less perfectly.

"DONE!" Traci called out once it was all done, standing proudly in front of the room doorway. "That's actually pretty fun! I should try doing that around my place every now and then! Hehe.."

”Or we could we offer him a ride.” Kolt pointed out, as he gently picked up Jenny and flew down towards their Varanian teammate. ”Hey big guy!” He called out cheerfully as he swooped to land next to Gadgeteer. ”You heading for the hotel? We’d be glad to give you a lift if you could just point out where it is.” He leaned in a bit closer and spoke in a stage whisper. ”I may not have been paying attention when they pointed out where it was.”

”I hate this dimension. I hate it so much.” Liz said, before walking over to the intercom by the door and pressing it. ”Hivemind, I have two questions for you. One, where is Lieutenant Nocturl right now? And two, are you familiar with a Mr C., looks like a hobo wizard, claims to be an associate of Diligitus?”

"I should try and find one that says twelve on it," he replied, pausing for dramatic effect, "You know, so that you can be my one, too." He gave Seena a toothy grin, rather proud of himself for that one.

"Oh, uh, so Rome's a city in a really old country. Thousands of years ago it used to be the major cultural hub near the Mediterranean. So when people went there they'd do things they wouldn't be able to at home. Like partake in different drinks or eat foods they couldn't get at home. That saying came up because people'd do stuff when they were in Rome." He gave her a shrug, "At least that's what I think. Er, not to turn this date into a history lesson or anything!"

"Hmm," Seena smiled, "sexy AND witty. How'd I get so lucky," she asked before gently kissing him. "Clothes shopping is tomorrow. Tonight the pleasure is all ours. What to do?"

"Might have to visit there at some point," Sana conceded. "Sounds a good place. Fennekin are from the more arid parts of Celica and some of the more dusty colonies. Seeing a real, OLD, city? Dabry wasn't totally sure why but, at that response, he hugged Aggie for a few seconds. "Sorry," he said awkwardly, "thought you needed it. Uh, hey," he added, brightening up, "at least here you've got all the time you want to to choose! Or you could do all of them! And, when you head towards stardom... the inevitable stardom, you could do with a bodyguard?" He mimed pushing people gently out of the way. "Make space, Miss Aggie will be signing autograaphs when she gets to the table and not before. Make way, please?" He chuckled at his own bad acting. "I'd a deal with my folks. Do a year on the frontline and they'd pay for Officer School." He winked. "I was fifteen months in."

And I'm not the only one. Other people, even other aspects are depending on you. Your team cares about you. Hivemind would be crushed if you fell to Cupiditas. Animo and Dignitate, aspects of courage and honor, want to see you flourish. You aren't alone, Tatiana." Diligitis let go of her shoulder and let his arm rest at his side. "As for why I healed you, you were badly injured, barely conscious, and no where near the rest of the group. I could not stick around to heal everyone. Odium would find my avatar if I did. So I focused on the one I felt needed it the most. You."

One, where is Lieutenant Nocturl right now? And two, are you familiar with a Mr C., looks like a hobo wizard, claims to be an associate of Diligitus?”
"Nocturl is at his parents' house. That's where he's been staying. As for the other question, I don't know his name, but it sounds like the individual our rookie team has taken to calling Hobomancer." Hivemind said over the radio. "Seems to be a nice guy. Bit of a gadfly at times, and seems to treat the laws of reality as a polite suggestion at best. He's demonstrated a number of powers, though most notable is his apparent prophet-like ability to see things that haven't happened and know things he shouldn't. If you've met him, and if he told you anything, I would like to know."

The hobomancer walked up to the picnic. "Hello. You may call me Mr. C. I'm a friend of the Lamont family. I just had to step out for a short while to attend to something. Would you like some Heaven Apple Frushie?"

Hawk stood there as Hivemind laid down the law, so to speak, to him though one could tell he was starting to flare up in anger as Hivemind brought up about the safeguards being installed on his gun. He did understand they were temporary but what got to him the most was that, to him at least, it seemed Hivemind was thinking his Other Side was pulling the trigger when all it ever does is tell him who was safe and who deserved to die. If he ever brought out the Other Side, it was only when firearms weren't enough. "You might as well safeguard my entire body then," Hawk retorts, "Cause as you said: You do not trust my other side to act in place of a safeguard, given his reputation for violence. When we said that oath to you, we made a promise that we would only act out if necessary and if the situation called for it. That is what the oath meant. When my other side acted out those times, the situation went beyond our control and we had no choice BUT to act out. We never take a life unless it was called for and we never killed innocents." Hawk was now starting to heat up from the anger, causing his Other Side to cool him off temperature wise, which resulted in him taking a few breaths and thanking him before looking back at Hivemind and apologizing. "Sorry about that," He began, "But when you been living through Hell for as long as you can remember and you're told the only link to happiness you have has to be altered, one tends to get defensive. Thought if we joined the Champions..we could finally leave that life behind and be treated as a normal guy. Guess..." Suddenly, the head of his Other Side took over for Hawk's head and began to speak to the Hivemind. "I want to apologize for Hawk's actions right now," it spoke in a low, somewhat mechanical voice that one would think would be threatening but it sounded more peaceful, "He watched alot of his friends die, including a close one of his, and had a intergalactic demon mess with him to no end...to the point of a very near death moment, hence why he gets defensive at times. For now, I will assure you myself that Hawk will comply with the rules you have set forward but he will not use his weapons his friend made for him, I will make sure of that. I understand you don't want to trust me but I make this promise to you with my own heart and voice speaking."

Jenny noted the Deputy falling silent and into line. "Gadgeteer, sir," she said after he'd responded to Kolt, "I think he just wanted your expression to lighten a bit? These people glowering at you?" She shrugged. "Why wouldn't they? After all, YOU'RE glowering at THEM. Some of them are probably just reflecting that, sir." She glanced around, silently checking on everyone else there.

As Diligitis spoke Tatiana did at the very least appear to relax as she mulled the aspect's words over in her mind. "... Thanks Diligitis." She stood up and appeared to stretch, her fears and anxieties seemingly eased by the aspects counseling. "I needed that. You really have a way with words, ya know? But there's one part I think you're wrong about. Our pasts defines who we are presently. We just need to not let them dictate who we'll be in the future. I think that's how it went, I heard that somewhere before." She turned to her Diligitis second shell and her eye lights lit up dimly to happily compliment her smile. "Thanks again. But, uh, do ya know where everybody went? Hive kinda distracted me on multiple levels back there and I don't have a map."

Recon immediately ran out, somewhat alarmed by the sudden demonstration of powers. "Keep calm, Saffy! I'm going to call Hivemind over." She pressed a finger to her communicator and called up Hivemind. "Hivemind, we have a possible emerging power. Speedster class, unknown magnitude. Right. Ok." She put her hand down and ran up to Saffy. "Are you OK?"

Traci rushed over too, keeping back a little so as not to crowd Saffy. "Well, looks like you can be as fast as us, hehe.." Traci said, laughing half-heartedly at the end. "I'll, erm, just keep making the rooms shall I? Where do you keep the bedsheets?"

Dan waited for the war droid's reply, unsure of what to ask exactly at this moment..

CyberDragon wrote:"That's doable too. Won't get the same range, but I can make a stim-pistol." Hivemind said as the two walked into the restaurant. He pointed Rika over to where Jaken and June were sitting. "There they are." he said.

Rika saw him coming and held her arms out to catch him as he jumped, and kissed his cheek back after he did too. "I missed you too, Jaken. I'm sorry I make you worry.. Good news is, I have the whole of tomorrow to make it up to you!" She said happily, hugging Jaken close to her before finally turning to Hivemind. "Thanks again for keeping an eye on Jaken, Hive. Let me know when my equipment is ready, and also if the team needs my assistance for anything. Today or tomorrow. You know I'm not one for being completely off-duty.." She then let Jaken down and ruffled his headfur. "..Anyway, let's sit down, I am very much liking the idea of having a nice large meal right about now."

CyberDragon wrote:"Predator did inform me on what happened to Talya." Hivemind said, sighing. "He was less sure of the root cause of what happened to you. I apologize. I should have given you more R&R time after the first fight. I was observing for any symptoms of strain, but... failed to take the fact that you don't respond to damage in the same way as the average organism." He said while the printer started getting to work on Kobor's new host.
"if by 'the same way', you mean 'at all' then yes." kobor deadpans tapping his forehead in the same place his actual body has a scar from the mech fight. "No nerves to feel pain from remember? injuries are just information, not sensation."

seeing jaken return with Rika, June waves and offers a cheery hello. momentarily distracting her from a slightly concerned looking waiter who has what looks like the entire desert menu written down on his order pad, she was talking to.

apparently jaken is too convincing for his own good...

Kol at least seems amused by the wayard deputy's antics, even if no one else is. though it doesn't entirely make sense.
"What's a rabbit?"
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Kolt rolled his eyes at Gadgeteer’s claim of being too heavy to lift. ”Dude, I have been throwing Varanians around like rag dolls all day. You were there for at least a couple of them.” He said, before simply shrugging it off. ”Whatever though, you don’t want to fly with me, you don’t have to.”

”He also said some stuff about “forming bonds with my teammates,” so I was thinking once I’m done checking in on Nocturl I’d see if Kobor was available. If not, then I’d just check in on the other people from the Steelhaven.” Liz said, sounding more than a little tired. She really was getting annoyed of so many shattering revelations in one day.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?
