This is so awesome. I won't lie. That second panel. Marion is so over this entire thing and Lois finally lost her mind. She kept calm for so long then snapped.

Keene kinda deserves it in that last panel but if he dies then they won't get their answers.

This played out more or less as expected. Just not sure what Breel is doing while this is going on. I expect still baking cookies.

I wonder if Poncho stuck around and is about to pull Lois off Keene. Also, good grip for Marion to stay on her shoulder.

Let's all be honest, after all the carp Keene has pulled over the years, we expected this day would come. The fact that Sabrina hasn't done this yet is surprising. Tarot surprisingly close that one time.

This is honestly the best strip I've ever seen. If Lois threaten to eat Keene, well it would make Keene wet his pants, so to speak. XD

Looking back over this page, it really highlights how good Rick is at expressions. You can tell Keenes terror, Marion's smugness and Lois's rage, as well as Keens turn to trying to talk his way out of a situation he doesn't yet understand.

Just perfectly done

Just a thought about things from here
and how they get on an even keel;
this is sort of Keene’s wish, that’s true

The expressions here are so good. Keene has a wonderful mix of confusion and terror in panel 1, it's nice to see Marion so confident, and we can add Keene to the list of characters with stroke faces (Sabrina, Fido, Maxwell, Sabrina #2, and now Keene)

I wonder if she's been a in a fight before. She has shown to have violent tendencies. She body slammed Marion and threatened to throw him off a bridge. There is some serious rage issues bubbling beneath the surface that need to be examined before Keene dies.

I'm inclined to say that—at least as of yet—this might be the best strip I have seen as well. It's certainly up there amongst my favourites already.

Yeah, no doubt in my mind Keene would "wet his pants" if Lois were to give such a threat

Also, anyone else think that Keene looks absolutely adorable—even moreso than usual? The third and fourth panels are cute and hilarious; I simply adore Keene's troubling expressions.

I also like Marion's smugness in the second panel—such confidence!

I'm also curious to see how Breel will react to all this, and whether or not Poncho is still present o:

Moving others’ lives around the chessboard
He’s learned some lessons, but was surely dreaming
If complacency he thought he could afford

Thomas wasted no time whatsoever
Following up the chance that he had seen
A dromedary persuasive and clever
That camel would go miles to smoke a Keene

Putting trays of cookies in for baking
Has put on hold Breel’s husbandly devotion
Suddenly Keene finds his throat is aching
All choked up with Lois’s emotion

On bobcat instincts Lois now is juiced
Keene’s chickens have at last come home to roost

It's also a bit of Keene getting comeuppance for years of scheming. He's been behind so many things that he's either gotten away with or been able to get away with with only a slap on the wrist that seeing him in peril is weirdly satisfying. Even if, for once, I don't think he's as involved as Marion and Lois think. If he was, I doubt that he'd have been home baking cookies.

I lean toward thinking that it's a bit of both. We know that Marion had some squirrly instincts right off the bat (climbing the tree while in a blind panic) so I think she has lost it a bit.

I suspect she might even feel bad about this later, or perhaps a touch confused.

I think he has already chosen... poorly.

Not that Keene isn't prone to paw-in-mouth, but I think if he even had the slightest inkling this was Lois that he'd have said things more carefully. For that matter, I wonder if he'd even met her as a human. We certainly didn't see it in the comic, but Keene wouldn't have had to have met her to be aware of her.

They probably met when Marion was being inducted into the ECP. This isn't the only implied off-panel interaction Lois has had, she's also apparently met King.

I assumed she was still at the police station when King showed up, or if she wasn't, Marion told her about him later.
