It's getting colder where I am. Not too cold, but I need a sweatshirt about half of the time.

I wish we would get snow though. I like snow.

Half of England has a panic attack at the mention of snow.
Our weather is mostly just rain... It's miserable.

I want snow too. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I live in a tropical country, I don't think that's ever going to happen. :(

I'm sorry, but around here it's still in the 60's and low 70's. Come to Southern California, it's always relatively (in comparison) warm here!
And if you can help it, don't come to Canada, its snowing here :P
And cold.... And snowing...... and did I mention its snowing?

I miss living in an area full of snow! That why I'm always eager to visit my family up in Washington, aside from the massive raining. It's pretty much what Kateleo said with the 60-70 degree weather over here in California. Darn you, California weather... with you and your beautiful sunny beaches... oh wait.

I think we should give away our snows to people who don't have it.

I'll take your snow! I've only seen snow twice, up by Lake Arrowhead.

I was at QuikTrip the other day and they had what were described as "pumpkin spice" donuts. They were cheap and I was hungry so I gave it a shot. It was good but tasted nothing like pumpkin spice. They should have been called "vaguely orange-colored" donuts.

I think my favorite donut is a tie between the Chocolate kruller, chocolate bar, and the chocolate twist. The donut shop we usually eat at has this delicious milk-chocolate glaze, and it is the BOMB.

Has anyone ever had just a plain donut, without glaze or anything on it? I once had a bar like that. It was pretty good... granted I would have liked it to have settled for a little longer (fresh donuts make me feel sick) but otherwise it was pretty good.

I didn't know sour cream doughnuts existed until a week ago. I'm aware of them now and they're pretty good.

I was going to make a joke at the expense of Gatorade but apparently Gatorade flavors do have actual names- one of them is "X-Tremo".

For all I know sometime in the past decade several of the flavors silently changed their names to things like "Drano-Berry Face Rupture" and "Rubbing Alcohol Quench" and no one noticed because they just considered them "purple" or "green" or whatever.

So, what's the actual difference between "nerd" and "geek"?

Or is it just an interchangeable term for "guy who likes stuff I don't like/consider normal"?

Randall Munroe's position on this
Origin of Geek
Origin of Nut -> Nuts -> Nerd

To me they refer to pretty much the same thing. Originally it was people who do things I consider weird. Now the people take pride in their weirdness and call themselves Geeks and Nerds. (I happen to be a language Geek/Nerd :D )

As far as I know you're on the money with the definition, except that a geek would be an extreme example.

Some "geek guy vs. nerd guy" video on Youtube made me think about it. It took the stance geeks = science, tech, math; nerds = subcultural stuff (anime, etc.). Not that that stopped them from degenerating into meaninglessness.

was it the Rhett and Link rap battle?

cause they only based their distinction on what they found online. and they came to the conclusion that nerd = doing (math, science, making robots) and Geek = passively enjoying (watching shows, wearing clothes)

I think nerd and geek have become pretty interchangable. I prefer the term nerd personally but geek fits to. Though I'm not super wrapped up in gamer/ role playing/ general comic/ gaming shop nerdery that much anymore. So I might be a bit out of touch.

In my neighborhood we just drink windex with kool-aid in it. :p
