ok , recap :
after the group return from the underground cavern , both Flynn and Nadia got sick , and the fox was taken away , Flynn on the other hand got better a couple of hours later , and they (except kousa cause she went home , leaving Koa with his new friends )all decided to go camping in Flynn's yard , inside a tent
Next morning they wake up and find Koa missing , so after a tiny discussion about why cats and dogs don't get along ,Ryyn track down Koa's scent and leads the group to the edge of the forest

Meanwhile, the clinic is cleaning up after yesterday's shenanigans and the mistaken bomb threat, a wild cougar apparently chases a wolf into the lobby... turns out she was actually rescuing him, and was startled by the helicopter landing in the parking lot. Kandi Sparagmos decides to adopt the big cat as a pet, and discovers that some idiot in the bureaucracy wants her to declaw it. This is pretty creepy even by Housepets! standards, when you realize this means cutting the last joint off all her fingers.

Cool, all the originally wild animals in one room.
Feral party!

The barn is not part of the clinic proper, it's one of the outbuildings.

I thought the kennels were in one of the rooms of the clinic >_<

So did i, ever vet building i have been in ( from the smallest, to the large 24hour MedVet ) has the lobby/waiting room, 2 to 4 exam rooms, the surgical area, and the holding kennels. Some even have boarding kennels.
it would be hard to keep a pet under observation if it was out in another building, right?

I know the horses are out in the red barn. hay and other feeds are out in the brown and yellow corrugated steel barns.

This clinic is also an animal rehab center that stretches over several buildings that used to be a farmhouse and its outbuildings, there's several barns and sheds. There's two recovery rooms in the clinic proper for animals that have to be watched. There's only one exam room. There's no large animal facility at all, the Sparagmos stables take care of horses and the like.

"I don't wanna scare Senka. She seems kinda jumpy."

She seems jumpy, Cinnamon? Really?

Do the Walton's live in the clinic itself or are they in a separate building? It seems they're in the same one since they walk throug the clinic to Cinnamon's room.

Yeh, the clinic is the front part of the house, they live in the back. The original main bedroom has been walled off and split into the exam room and the two recovery rooms. Paul doesn't see a need for kennels for domesticated animals who can talk and have opposable thumbs.

Recovery rooms for pets don't need to be all that big.

Edit: some rabbits like baths, Hlaoroo:

The exception that proves the rule, hey? :P
Yeah, a lot of animals do like bathing. Even cats, although you wouldn't think it from the rap they get from Hollywood/comics/the media.

So did they build onto the front of the house at all or just renovate the inside?

Here's as close as I can find to how I imagine Flynn's house, by the way. Not a huge mansion but still quite respectable. I also imagine it back from the trees a bit with more lawn in behind and less lawn out the front.

correct me if I'm wrong , but I'm don't think Rusty can see where the others are if he's around the mansion can he ?

Well they could be off to the side. In fact I think they probably are since the tracks led off to the right.

I suppose the reception area/waiting room could be a rather tacky commercial storefront, and there's a covered half-walled extension that includes the outbuildings, but I'm visualizing something that kind of grew piecemeal, not overly planned, as money was available.

OK, I think I have a fair idea of the setup now.

And yes, that is an adorable picture. :)

EDIT: I wonder if Samantha will remember to tell Paul about the call from Koa's owner today?

or maybe Cinnamon's energy is contagious ? :lol:

"He sounds a bit like a monkey."

"That's because he is one."

~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm thinking about a second character here.
Either a raccoon or a badger.
Cinnamon's codefendant mentor. Sorta.
He lives on the edge of town. In a burrow enhanced by a trashed out car or boat or something. Very rural.
Well, a few times removed. But just a few. :lol:
Sounds fun. I think a raccoon would be more likely to be a co-conspirator than a mentor. Badgers, on the other hand, are often portrayed as wiser/more benevolent creatures. (see Redwall, The Animals of Farthing Wood or The Wind in the Willows).
Is there currently a people doctor or a hospital in RA?
I have a few things I'm thinking about too.
serence ice fox wrote:oh hardy ha ha , even her horse think I'm the bad guy , well , hehehehhehe
Well at least the rabbits seem to like her. Then again, that's probably not a good thing. For the rabbits, that is. :lol: And she'll have to be careful not to get kicked, tormenting the horses like that.
I was thinking of a redneck version of Mister Badger from Wind in the Willows.
Kandi has led the cougar, wolf, and fox to look for the wolf's medical bag... which turned up in the vicinity of the stalls where Moonbeam and Rocky are penned. Moonbeam is OK with this, but Rocky is freaking out at the predators.
Cinnamon is on some mysterious mission among the town's raccoon population that's leading him closer and closer to the area where the main group of pets were engaged in treehouse-building.
