Re: 2015/07/22 - Another Weird Visitor
Right now I am just really happy that Grape and Peanut are getting a bigger role in a story arc again.
Blah blah blah, words words words.
Re: 2015/07/22 - Another Weird Visitor
This looks a really interesting arc, great idea! Ahah, this time Grape stopped your shout, Peanut. Yeah, yet another space-time travelling? It's better put a lock with those, Tarot. Nice to see the Grapenut back on the scene, and that jackal looks cool.

If you lose them you can't find them.Saturn381 wrote:What's wrong with wearing glasses?Amazee Dayzee wrote:I used to think that Miles was so hot in a comic character way until he got those glasses.
They are impossible to keep clean.
Rain.
Something hits them you get metal jammed into your face.
I could keep going on...
But they did reenact the dream quest when Pete was freed. Besides, that language in his word bubble is not Akkadian cuneiform, so it might be a language that Rick made up. If he is from 5000 BC, then he is probably speaking an unknown language since the first Written language, Sumerian, didn't appear until about 3350 BC, and Egyptian hieroglyphs around some time after.Douglas Collier wrote:Grape dreamed that Peanut took an Akkadian correspondence course - I'm not sure if he actually did in real life.
Maybe he is from some pre-pharaonic version of Egypt or some precursor to Sumer and Akkadia. I hope he comes to stay in Babylon Gardens on a permanent basis! If you think Itsuki, or Jessica and the wolf pack make for good fish-out-of-water characters in suburban America, imagine a Jackal from 7000 years ago!
You can tell I am really into ancient civilizations, can't you?

You know the way Rick keeps on putting these charming young gentlemen in the comic, I won't be surprised if a fanservice store can be found near the Gardens. *flips switch* "whir whir whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

Anubis stopping by for a visit? Things are looking very interesting. Will Sasha drag out the Poppies sign again?

The animated signature I've used for years is too big for this forum! When I get time, I'll have to deconstruct it and make it smaller!

The glasses make him look way too old. He was better looking without them.

Hmm, if this guy is really from 5,000 B.C., he's almost 2,000 years too early to be an Egyptian jackal.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I don't think the Housepets world worries about genetic accuracy, especially considering there are gods in their universe evolution might not have happened, at least not in the same way.Douglas Collier wrote:Hmm, if this guy is really from 5,000 B.C., he's almost 2,000 years too early to be an Egyptian jackal.

And then we all find out that the jackal is actually just Fox coming back from the academy with a big tan!
I thought about changing my signature but decided against it, it's too much work!

I don't catch the streams because I want to keep myself all ready and excited for the new comic without spoilers.

I'm a big fan of this theory.valerio wrote:Or he might be Pete reincarnated into yet another 'glistening hunk'
I don't believe this is the thread for discussion of live streams... however, I do believe it's common courtesy not to give spoilers. Let's allow people the joy of discovery on their own terms - some folks prefer to find out who new characters are, what they're doing, and why they're doing it by reading the finished comic.SuperStar wrote:You didn't catch the stream either? This is true, Satau could come from what we know as Egypt, but there were cultures in the region precursors of the Egyptian; talking about circa 5000BC, the Badari culture and Merimde culture existed there around that time, so Satau could be not a proper Egyptian but instead a Badarian or Merimdean.SuperStar wrote:Well, who said Jackals couldn't have around before then? Then again, we don't really know if Housepet universe follows our history as it is.

Re: 2015/07/22 - Another Weird Visitor
I'm guessing he's not a really a jackal either, seeing as jackals aren't actually black, at least not in our world - that's an Egyptian depiction; maybe they are black in the HP universe, though? Either that or Egyptian culture in the HP universe reaches back an extra 2,000 years or so and he was bred to look like that. Or I suppose he could just be a black dog that coincidentally resembles Anubis. I guess this will be cleared up in the next few comics.

Jackals may not be black in our world, but cats in our world aren't purple either.
Re: 2015/07/22 - Another Weird Visitor
I guess this is just a guest comic, but if this guy really has some relation to anubis, I really hope this gets referenced:
