There's a real double-standard, unfortunately. This behavior isn't exclusive to one gender or orientation. Let's not debase ourselves with controversial and, frankly, offensive stereotypes.

So Natalie has a secret lover, who doesn't know she loves him, of course. Would be better start to take the thing seriously, eh.

You replaced Fido with Satau, Natalie? Good choice, because the first one is already taken.

Uh, Satau is such a gentle-dog (or whatever animal he is), now I see the reason of the lover changing.

But now, I'm wondering how have you made photos of him so quickly.

Looking ahead for the reason of why Tarot and Satau have to meet King at the mansion.

This just flew by me, but i like how Satau is taller than Miles. I always think Miles is the tallest wolf out of everyone.

I'm no Egyltian expert, but level with me here: is Satau and Jata's culture related in some way? I'm starting to think there are parallels here between the both of them.

Then again, the title of 'uncle' doesn't always mean that it's a parent's brother, it can be used for any older male friend... Maybe she's his mother's nephew's grandmother's brother's son-in-law's adopted daughter's half-sister (twice removed).

Oh my! I guess amidst a few hints in the past, Natalie really is love sick... crazily so... But I still really like her (wouldn't mind her obsessing over me if I were a cartoon dog... Okay, maybe a little).

I got the impression that Jata was more central-to-southern African. (South Africa contains two monarch-ruled micronation enclaves IRL.)

I thought about it a while, and remembered this strip:

Cast: Uncle Deadeye, Natalie, "Four Finger Discount" Jack, Elaine, Poncho, Zoo Wolves, Karishad.

If appearances don't deceive (and they might) Natalie is pretty closely related to Uncle Deadeye.

It's already covered a handful of genres, hasn't it? Slice-of-life comedy, romantic comedy, drama, even just a hint of tragic (though it was also a bit sweet) when Cerberus escorted the puppy to Heaven. Plenty of genres to choose from if Rick decides. We already know that the comic is not a one-trick pony.

What determines the outcome of a new genre depends on whether or not a new direction is a punch to the face for the viewer. And what determines that is left to the individual viewer.
