I like this particular one, Texascat. :) Nice work, Megamaster and hanDesu. :) Very good draw, and that's amazing, Laxan, you ever do 3D modeling! Which software are you using? ;)

Love the face/expression on the second one Megamaster! Very good!

And yeah Cesco I 3D Model. I'm in my 3rd and final year at university getting a degree for Game Art which involves, concept art, level design and 3D modelling of Assets and Characters.
As for software I used to use Maya but that was before Uni when I used to dabble. Though I found it personally clumsy and complex, so now I use Autodesk 3Dsmax (2012 at the moment prefer it to 2014). A much better program in my opinion, however I've heard 3Dsmax is better for videogame related while Maya has much better animation software. So to each their own.
I also dabble in Autodesk Mudbox which we've started this year.
Did this as a quick play around with the basic hear provided just to get a idea of mass for a character I was designing. I was struggling on getting an old weathered rabbit anthro facial structure when doing the concept art, so I massed it out in Mudbox for a base. Quite like it to say it took me all of 10 minutes. xD

Really nice draw, hanDesu. She's a lot better than Santa and can enter in the fireplace without problems. :P
Great finished draw, Laxan, awesome color shades. :) There's a little black spot to remove, it's a lot visible, a smear over the shirt in the bottom part, and the wrists and the left hand aren't colored.
Sounds great do these thigns at university! I've got to use Maya in an animation tutorial, I agree that's better for this purpose. Yeah, 3DSMax is used for videogames and it's also great for renders. I prefer and have used way more Cinema 4D, self learned in some features due for its user-friendly GUI which gave me less troubles. The free open source Blender looks worth to try, I should give it one.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing 2 tutorials, 1 for how I draw and 1 for the shading.

It's not exactly finished. I got bored and it was just a doodle really.

Yeah, I HATE Cinema 4D. Not sure about Blender, though I do suggest you take a look at zBrush. If not just for fun.

Really nice and lovely draw. You mean Firenze registered here? So it's you the friend which he talked about on his presentation. The first draw I made in digital version it's by him too, good to know who originally made it. :)
Laxan wrote:It's not exactly finished. I got bored and it was just a doodle really.
Actually it's really good to be just a doodle. :) To me, it needs little to be finished and perfect.
Laxan wrote:Yeah, I HATE Cinema 4D. Not sure about Blender, though I do suggest you take a look at zBrush. If not just for fun.
I think that knowing how to use well Maya or 3DSMax, Cinema 4D can be a forgettable program, then. I've looked for some info about this zBrush, it's impressive for the models painting and textures mapping.

I swear that one of these days, I'm gonna be as good at drawing as you, Huckley. I can't say when that will be, but hopefully some day soon

Speaking of which, I got my first drawing tablet for Christmas and I'm just starting to get used to it. Here's the first and only sketch I've done with it so far...

Image

It's a pretty rough sketch obviously, but I still like it for a first try.

By the way, since I'm new to this, does anyone who's familiar with drawing tablets know of a good (preferably free) software or program I can use that works good with drawings? I used Photoshop elements for this one, and it worked out well enough, but I still feel like I want to explore some other options to see if there's anything better

The only one I can think of that works exceptionally well with tablets is PaintTool SAI, unfortunately that is not free software. A license is $60, but I believe it is well worth the price simply because it's a really powerful program that can do pretty much anything you want it to once you learn the strings. And there's no monthly fee either. C:

Believe me, you already are! That looks great! :D
The main thing is to enjoy drawing! In my opinion, art is art. Not better or worse, just different. :D

Here is something I draw for Welsh Halfwit: :)

It's his RP character Chip.
