The only thing I used to do in gym class was walk around the gym or the track. I was never very physically apt at any sports.

We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well, they're no friends of mine

Y'know, that dance is not as safe as they said it was.

It would seem Google Drive can search the text that is within an image. I don't have any file names that have words in them I can't say here, but I do have a couple of images that contain the words in them. When I searched the words on Google Drive, several images came up, all containing the words typed in them.
I should probably do something about that considering I am in school...

How many people here do this during school. (I'm one of them.)
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

I tend to do it before or after school since its very quick for me to just make a few posts.
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I think I may make more posts here in school than I actually do the work. I even had my laptop taken away in October for a day because I was on here instead of doing the work. That taught me to be more careful.
I believe it was a post about underwear as well...
Right now I am on my phone at the bus stop, but I believe I have never made more than 10 posts on my phone. I find it harder to do on a phone l, and it takes longer to post.

Five year member of the forums checking in here! When I was in high school I would get ecstatic to go to the library for writing research reports. It meant I got to check my Housepets messages during school hours! Also when I started taking online college classes, I would get done with them super early so the forums were a great distraction to me.Civilization wrote:How many people here do this during school. Now I'm in college and I'm not really active anymore, but I do check for messages or post responses pretty regularly!

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
In my school we do all our work on laptops, so I can get on here anytime the teacher isn't looking, like right now. I really should get back to the work, but I have the weekend to do that.
I am also kind of mad at my school. It would seem that the shoes I wore to school multiple times (at least 20), and to my Grandmother's funeral are not allowed in school because the bottoms are similar to tennis shoe bottoms, but people are allowed to wear sweaters with giant animal heads on the front of them that cover the entire thing. That fox one has been worn to school by someone. It is trying to keep us in a professional dress code, but all it does is annoy me when I think something is fine but it is against it.

... Did I miss something somewhere? I don't seem to recall this actual quote so I can only assume it was an attempt to cause unrest among the mods, thus forcing us into a civil war, bringing us all down in a long, drawn out fight that eventually leads to anarchy on the forums forcing one person, someone whole and pure, to stand above it all and bring peace, thus ending the strife that had consumed us.GreatKitsune wrote:I don't know. Well, your plan won't work. You see, all of the mods are above such petty things like fighting over who is the best mod. We all work toward peace and unity, toward a place where everyone is welcome and fights are but a fantasy. As such, it was agreed long ago that I was, indeed, the best mod and all of the other mods accept that truth and we all get along just fine.

Actually I vaguely recall this being posted at some point...if I remember rightly, it was said in a jocular context by one of the other mods in the forum. Great Kitsune's just taken it out of context a little bit, probably in a lame attempt to milk out the joke...but it's long since been drier than a grain a sand in the middle of the sahara desert.JeffCvt wrote:... 2. I don't fell like getting cold.
3. I don't want to break the rules, sorry.

Ah. that must be what I recall, then. Great kitsune musta modified it for some reason.
Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life The Universe & Everything
Last night I spent 15-20 minutes staring at the stars. I love them, and it is great when away from light pollution. I was thinking of many things, like all the constellations that I wish I knew. How many generations of people have looked at the same stars, and how many more generations will. How the Native Americans and Egyptians probably did. How each star is its own sun, and how the light travels so far. How the moon reflects the sun's light, and how it rotates around the earth. How many people must have stared up at the stars making out all the pictures. I wish there was a high field away from light that I could have stood in to see them better. I probably would have spent much more time with standing in the lot with my head up if it wasn't so cold.
I think it was the most I thought about outside of school in a while.

Watching the stars is much fun, especially if you have a really dark place outside. It's incredible how much you can see. I recommend to take a planisphere with you so you can check what you can see or find comstellations, also use a red flashlight to read it, since the red light doesn't disturb the eye too much and they don't have to acclimate again for so long when looking into the dark sky again.

When I go to my great grandma's in Oklahoma I sleep in the RV. It's outside and it's a small town so it gives a great view of the sky. It's a pretty rewarding experience.

I live in a crowded city with too much light pollution. What are stars.
When I was at Everest base camp last year though, the night sky was full of em. I didn't even think it was possible to fit so many stars in one sky.
I even saw a flurry of purple which was (I'm told) the borders of the Milky Way galaxy. Breathtaking. Sadly, no one could take a decent picture.

No. I was just trying to appease Obbl in hopes that he would overlook my url error in one of the forum games that made the screen about 6x wider than it should be. I would love to see a really starry sky one day. My dad says he got stuck on the side of the road in the middle of no where for a bit many years ago, and totally flipped out when he saw ow full the sky was.

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
At my home in Tasmania the nearest town is ten minutes drive by car and it's only 3000 people and the nearest city is 86km/53 miles away so at night at my place when we turn off the lights it's quite dark so we can see plenty of stars. I love looking at the stars. They're very pretty and it's especially mind-boggling to realise that many of the stars may be galaxies in and of themselves. It's also incredible to think that if you made the earth the size of a golf ball then the largest star we've found would be the size of Mount Everest! Really makes you realise just how tiny we are!
I can identify the Southern Cross which is the constellation on the Australian flag and it's used for navigation. I really want to see the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) and apparently they're fairly common but for some reason I've never yet managed to see them. They're definitely on my bucket list though!
Another thing you never realise in the city is just how bright the moon and stars really are. If you go out on a full moon night in the country with the lights off then it's really almost as bright as day! Even on moonless nights when all the stars are out it's still quite bright. You have to look out on a cloudy night if you really want to see it being dark.

The only constellations I can recognise immediately without consulting some kinda star chart is The Saucepan and Orion.
