Friend is making a D&D 5e long term campaign. The rules are so much more simple than making 3.5 characters and stuff. Making non-normal nonhumanoid characters is hard.

Heh, I have all 3 of the D&D 3.5 core rule books and the pack of dice to go with it. Realized I no one to play with... Try making a campaign and playing it all by yourself, that is hard.

Yeah, I know how you feel, I'm in high school and even the group the plays World of Warcraft and League of Legends where like, "D&D, who still plays that."

I have been wanting to lean how to play D&D for a very long time now, but I don't have anyone who would be willing to play it that I know nor the time to learn. Maybe I can do it while I am off this April, but I already have a stockpile of things to do in those three weeks.

The only constelations I can see when I look into the sky are the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, and Orion's Belt (not all of Orion). I live in a big city, so the stars are another reason I love going camping.
I should probably change my signature to say I am back from that...

It's hard finding enough people who gel socially, to be fair. Just finding people who want to play is only half the battle.

Yeah I've been meaning to have a go at Dungeons and Dragons myself but I don't know anyone that plays it in real life or online or anything that can teach me. :/

You could always play online, but I guess that would feel slightly awkward.

I've always wanted to learn DnD, but from what I've heard, its really time consuming and involves scheduled playtime, which I currently cannot make room for.

My idea was just PM each other, it would pretty slow but at least we could all work on our time schedules. Then PMing each other would allow us to teach each other.

If you wanted to play a DnD campaign on the forums, it would go to the RP section, though I'd say DnD isn't quite the same if it's turn based, and if it isn't then you still run into the trouble of finding a time everyone's free. I'd say gather interest in the main OOC, but wait for things to calm down after our recent staff change.

If you just want to talk about DnD and maybe organize a game somewhere other than the forums, then a thread would go right here in Not the Comic, and you can make it any time you want.

Agreed, A thread would work better than PMing, I think.

Random's got a point. I say we start by doing a DND discussion thread in Not The Comic, see if there's any other interest and see if a full DND RP thread would be viable.
