That'ud probably slip passed the PG-13 rating the comic strives to maintain. But, as a theme, it's hilarious and Rick would come up with some wonderful facial reaction to go with Earl's circumlocutions. ;)

Since he has a whole lot of money and they like wasting it on stupid things, yeah I can see Keene trying to do something like that. Or one of the ferrets. xD

"Their net worth is equal to the GNP of three small countries or one medium country.", so they wouldn't be completely helpless as their own nation. Also, I think the word you're looking for is secede, not succeed.

That would sort of be like how in shows a child thinks they are moving because of something they misheard from their parents so that could be nice provided Peanut and Grape don't freak out TOO much about it. LOL

Rex tries out for the K9s and Fox gets very anxious, remembering his inexperienced days. At first, Rex is kind of a bumbler which Fox finds reassuring but then the Bulldog starts getting the hang of things, chumming with Fido and Mungo, helping Terrance with the clerical stuff. Fox now starts wondering if Rex is going to replace him and get seriously jealous. Finally, he goes to Ralph to ask what's going on. Ralph tells him that Rex has decided he doesn't have a vocation on the force so he's not taking the job, that Fox was never being considered for getting the sack, and gives the deflated husky a combination pep-talk and tail-chewing. Fox goes wearily home to discover a big box of Rex's chocolate-chip cookies waiting on his doorstep.

It would be "Heartwarming the arc" for me.
Also it would be interesting since it's one of the few arcs with a human as the protagonist.
I barely count King (even as Joel) since we see him mostly in Dog form.

Agreed on all counts. It could be very poignant and different, but Rick could pull it off.

But the question would be would he WANT to since the comic mostly focuses on pets. Even when King was the protagonist he was a dog and we have Lois and Marion who are teenagers in bobcat and squirrel form respectively.

True, that would remain to be seen - as I understand, Rick's not fond of drawing people, and he'd have to do a lot of that in an arc centered on Hartford and his rehabilitation. Although, if his counselor was an animal - say, Mungo - that could work.

Even if it was Mungo which I am not sure would happen or even if it did Hartford might not be ready to take orders from an animal, Rick would still have to draw him regularly and I'm thinking it might be something he's loathe to do.

I'd say that's a bit close to King's initial situation, minus direct interference from a cosmic entity; i.e, "Human who dislikes/treats pets poorly gets turned into one."

OK then, how about this: King and Bailey want to go onto another date, but King is still paranoid about baby sitters and Peanut and Grape don't want to go through that again. So they end up hiring Lois.

Distracted by the crying puppies, Sasha's maternal sentiments kick in and she invents games to quiet them. Unfortunately for King, these activities prove extremely rambunctious.

I one time had a dream where the comic had an arc in which King died (presumably permanently). Does that count?
