Hang on a second, did anyone notice that Max looks exactly like he did before this arc even started?
This arc went by fast in their time!
And now we have to wait and see the repercussions of his actions. There are two main possibilities that can come from this: One is that Fido is basically disowned as a "good ol' dog" and outcast from the canine hierarchy. The other is that Bino gets the snot beat out of him and the race wall is broken down to a certain extent.

Way to go Fido! That was really brave of you. *high five*

Also, I'm gonna guess what panels six and seven are saying.
Fox: He lied to me....
King: Um Bailey, you think we should...
Bailey: I wouldn't!
Grape: Hey Peanut, Fido has just revealed his secret.
Peanut: That's cool. Could you girls hand me the popcorn?
*hands it to Tarot*
Tarot: Here you go.

Not to be a spoilsport, but I have a terrible nagging feeling that Jata is just going to dismiss all of this dramatic reveal with a "so?" and continue the wedding.

I mean, while this is certainly a big deal to the pets of this world, I remember in an early strip someone commented how humans just found the whole cat/dog thing "cute" so I don't see why any of the newscasters or anyone else involved in recording this event would be too shocked.

Also there is the possibility that the animals Jata's country doesn't view the cat/dog thing as big a deal as the ones in this country do.

And to be honest, how well do you see a random person basically yelling "I'm in love with the bride/groom" at a wedding going over in stopping the ceremony? Especially in a shotgun wedding? (Although granted, in this case the bride is in love with said random person and doesn't like the groom as much.)

But finally, there is the fact that Sabrina has made it clear she doesn't want to marry Jata, even going as far as to make Grape pose as her "boyfriend", and Jata basically didn't care, forcing her to marry him just because he can. I don't think a dog going "but I love her!" is going to change much of that in Jata's mind. Especially since even he doesn't care about the wedding himself and is just doing it to benefit his country.

Sabrina has just witnessed her mate throwing his reputation and career down the drain: This should motivate her to call off the wedding, no matter the consequences, and since she's Tarot's apprentice it wouldn't be wise for Jata to call it a challenge for the bride. But even if things escalated to the point of risking a conflict at Milton Manor, well I believe that Keene will not be so stupid as to let it escalate, for at that point it would serve no cause.
So no, looks like things are going downhill, but the marriage should be a chapter closed.

King has definitely chosen, in thoughts and actions, to stay a dog -unless he's got a severe case of split personality, that is. So he has no reason to say anything to anyone about a life he threw over his shoulders. Plus, the only ones who know the truth are Sabrina, Tarot and the demigods, and except Pete (for obvious reasons) no one has the least interest in ruining King's life with blackmail or disclosure.
The *real* trouble here is, speaking about aftermath, is that Fox may even try to coerce the truth from King about the why King is so obsessed about a certain watch. And, at that point, who knows? King may go as close to the truth by saying he was Joel's dog or something like that, and that he misses his old 'master'....

Quite so! I doubt that even this event can dull Fido's luster or social standing with the neighborhood dogs. Exhibit A: Shut Up We’re Trying To Praise You. That said, I got to love the Peanut Gallery's reaction: Grape and Tarot almost transfixed mid-kernel, while Peanut doesn't even look up from his game...

4. Max's spit-take.
5. Fox's 'WTF?' expression.
6. King and Bailey's concerned looks.
7. That reminds me: KINGLEY!!!!!
8. Peanut's absolute devotion to his video game.
9. Grape and Tarot eating popcorn while watching the proceedings.
10. Bino's usual insanity. (I think he's about to receive a fresh set of injuries from his "girlfriend".)
Honestly, I'd say this summarizes my feelings almost perfectly.

Yes. Yes I am. I got the idea from your fan fics, Sleet. We all know...

One more thing to make you hate Bino. He seems to be delighting in his brother's sorrow. What a horrible character!

Yeees Fido so cool, manly dog. I should probably do a new signature for myself just because of this arc.
TendoTwo wrote:Not to be a spoilsport, but I have a terrible nagging feeling that Jata is just going to dismiss all of this dramatic reveal with a "so?" and continue the wedding.
Possibly, but even then Fido can throw in the duel card. Or Jata responds with cocky confidence and throw it himself in order to intimidate Fido off and have a chance to show off again how awesome he think he is.

What I think is interesting is this is the likely first case that Jata is just about as much of a jerk about the whole taboo between cats and dogs than he lets on. While he did point out he got along fine without humans, he didn't exactly state he got along with animals either, just that it was his belief.

I'm convinced Jata is likely going to pull the old "If you love her that much, go get her" ticket.
