Well, it's an intimidation you seem to have mastered. Looks good, thinks I.

Re: Art Thread
That has come out very nicely! You did a wonderful job on it Rocky!
Re: Art Thread
Thanks, y'all.
Finally managed a new weapon set, this time for Rocky. Wooden Set: basic sword and shield meant to get people used to the expected weight of the real weapons. In a pinch, work somewhat well.
Hero's Set: Well-sharpened sword and durable shield given to those who are expected to deal with danger in behalf of others. Despite the name, this is not a passed down set. It's nothing more than a standard shield and sword, and a number have been made over the years.
Fairy's Set: set that is famous for how easily it is wielded. Even together, the set is incredibly light yet both powerful and durable. The blade and heart of the shield shine like glass, yet can withstand the barrage of battle equal to the best swords and shields.
"Holy" Set: despite the name, these are no more powerful or magical than a standard sword and shield. These were merely intended as props, left behind when an old church was abandoned years ago. Originally part of a set with matching armor, but it didn't fit Rocky.
Celestial Shield: Relic from an ancient civilization. It is unknown if it ever had a corresponding sword or if it was always intended to be a lone piece. Highly reflective, and is just as useful at stopping physical blows as it is at stopping magic.
Obsidian Blade: Rooted in legends as a holy weapon, but in fact is of an Infernal origin. Wielding it for too long corrupts the user, before it finally kills them. (full description here)
Diamond Edge and Amethyst Shield: Relics of unknown origin, rumored to never needing to be sharpened or conditioned. Some believe it is of Celestial origin, as it cleaves through demonic forces with relative ease.
The Obsidian Blade was actually won in a giveaway a few years back. Original artist here.

Re: Art Thread
I am assuming that the diamond edge and amethyst shield set is the one that is in your current avatar?
Re: Art Thread
Yup. Thought it fit as such.

Now you just need to explain exactly how he came by it.
Re: Art Thread
We'll get to this discussion never.
Re: Art Thread
Restraint - a critical tool of good conversation.
Re: Art Thread
Felt like taking things slow, so drew up Oliver's amulet again. The text on the back view is the fictional "Daedric" language from the Elder Scrolls series of video games. Daedra are a sort of demonic species, and for a long time I wanted to implement that language in anything related to Infernals. It simply spells out "Oliver."

Re: Art Thread
That is really cool! I do think that it is very nice! Wonderful job!
Re: Art Thread
Thanks. I've been figuring out how I want to draw it, such as the proportion of the stone to the rest of it.
Re: Art Thread
Intriguing.
Re: Art Thread
Thanks. While posting on my DeviantArt page, was able to flesh out a bit of a backstory.
Before Oliver was born, Mirage and Macabre decided to have a gift for him. They eventually decided on an amulet. Mirage was able to get a piece of jade of Celestial origin, while Macabre was able to sneak away with Infernal silver ingots. Macabre then used Nikolai's forge (since I made it so that Nikolai made his own heart pieces, he'd probably be good at this kind of thing, and yes, making things up as I go, y'all should know me by now ) to make everything.
The idea was that Oliver would carry the essence of both a Celestial and Infernal, and the amulet would be a reminder that despite what he is, who he is would be up to him.

Re: Art Thread
That actually is very beautiful and I love the idea.
Re: Art Thread
Got another character ask done. this was initially going to be MUCH bigger, with a different image of Rocky answering per about two breaks, but I decided not to torture myself this time.
Re: Art Thread
Thorough!
Nicely depicted, too.

This really came out nicely! Great job on answering the question! I never knew bunicorns were so nasty usually. They look so cute on the box...
Also, don't worry about the torture. I can do that to you. XD

I'm half-expecting if you show the chocolate to Mirage she'll try to eat herself to see if she is made of chocolate.

Alright, she's not stupid.

Its certainly been awhile since I worked on Housepets! fanart. King was my inspiration for Phaaze’s stature and has been one of my favorite characters from the comic

Re: Art Thread
That also answers my question on whether Rocky is just an insert character or if he is an OC.
I can't wait to see what his backstory is.

Re: Art Thread
Don’t get your hopes up. At this moment, he is ultimately still an insert. I’ve been thinking a backstory, but have been deciding against so. The only idea coming to mind was from a practice piece Krytus showed me. He had Rocky as a blacksmith, as he was practicing lighting effects, and felt that a forge would work, and placed Rocky in in reference to me designing weapons.

Re: Art Thread
Ao that means we CANNOT ask him questions as he is still an insert of yourself?
Re: Art Thread
Pretty much. These past two used him because the questions were background-oriented that felt more fitting to be directed at the artist.
Guess I need to specify that questions are to be DIRECTED at specific characters in the future.

I guess I will go back to wracking my brain trying to think of an actually clever question instead of something stupid.
Re: Art Thread
A rather interesting question. Also used a reference for Mirage here.

That’s just Macabre’s working theory.
