Ok, can you explain either public or in PM how can others participate in this radio? i mean i heard something about i-pods but since i don't have such devises and i am a bit anxious to learn what must be done to participate, IF it is possible of course

A "I-pod" is nothing more then a MP3 player
I-tunes is one of the more knows RSS readers that can pick up podcasts easly while ranking them
A podcast has actually nothing to do with the device (hence Leo Laport calls his podcasts "Netcasts" to prevent confusing everyone)
I have never used a I-pod or I-tunes to listen to a podcast, so they are all optional
participate means +/-: " sending Audio Clips, E-mails, calling them, or something in that direction." in a podcast

We just recorded a half-episode for the recent Guest Strips.

Just listened to the first episodes, Feedback:
-quality is good, no annoying backgrounds noise, and everything said I could understand well.
-Subjects is a bit all over the place, but like you said, you lost the notes, so it was well improvised.
-I can tell you guys are having a hard time keeping it PG-13, but you have done a good job,
-Sometimes there are some long pauses, and a bit of editing wound hurt, but it wasn't very annoying.
Overall, A podcast I will gladly listen to on my travel every week.

One thing. There's already a project called the Housepets Radio Show.

Ive been calling the console that ever since I demoed it at a Gamestop back before it came out. Good, if we ever mention you again we are probably going to use "aaron-em-ten", as you probably could tell we struggled with it the second time. You won't have to wait as long for the next one, we expect to record it this Friday or Saturday and get it uploaded as soon as it becomes Sunday for us.44R0NM10 wrote:lol at the 'why-motes'.

Re: HP!R - Housepets! Radio (Podcast)
Topic for Episode three will be "Fan-Fics I" (we've learned not to double-up big topics anymore! )
We need to know what the community thinks the three biggest/most important Fan-Fics are!
-> We already guessed that Starcrossed is going to be on this list.
We will hopefully have Kyderra as a guest host for episode three, BUT he will need to know what Fan-Fics to read so he can provide his input!

Sorry Guys..er and Females, my schedule isn't ideal but hopefully we can, like Nick said, put one up every week after Ep II. I'm VERY happy AND relieved that you are enjoying the podcast, Thank you all for giving it a listen.
Re: HP!R - Housepets! Radio (Podcast)
( Another great episode, i really enjoyed it)
I do already have one I'd like to talk about, (neko's fan-fiction) that I did like a lot, I am not sure if I can find the time to read up on a lot of fictions I am afraid tough, I am currently very bizzy *durp*
if anything, give me a short summary of your fiction if you want me to talk about it ^_^

(you know, I was gonna mention that you did a good job with my name Nick. With practice, you'll be able to say it as quick as I can ^^]
Anyway, I'm not good at suggesting my fav's. I haven't read any in forever anyway. I'd say you could mention Valerio's due to the sheer size, effort and skill put into it. It's a really great fanfic, that I think is written well (although, it's hard to tell considering it's Italian).

I hope you don't mind if i throw in my 2 cents, If your looking for the Biggest / Most impotent Fan-Fics I would have to say you must include ChristopherJackal's Housepets! Changing the Status Quo! and Coppers A Housepets' Christmas Carol! both of which inspired me to my own Fan Fic ( and that's saying a lot considering how lazy I am...)anyway both Changing the Status Quo and Christmas Carol! are among some of the best out there. IMO -
I would have to say There are Many Many Great Fan Fic's on this forum picking top 3 Will be challenging!
Oh and on the topic of choice... sense Kyderra will be on maybe he can shed some light on whats whats taking so long for to winner to be announced in the All the King's Men"Contest! -seriously...

"Bad News Everyone" Our bandwidth quota on Podbean hit 80% earlier today, once that tops out, the podcast will be unavailable until next month. Sooo, we need some way to keep HP!R up and running, David and I have NO money we can spare for HP!R for the next couple months, we need somewhere we can store the files and not have to worry about bandwidth, I wish we could use the server the Forums are hosted on (I personally don't see why not, although we haven't asked yet either) for a temporary basis. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't let this stop you from listening to HP!R. Anyone have any suggestions?

Seeking monetary donations is actually against the forum rules, so it's just as well the account isn't up yet. Additionally, I doubt server space would be allocated for an unofficial fan project.

Woot, thanks for using my one of my intros, and I was actually thinking of suggesting FA as a solution to your bandwidth problem.
I've also used Myspace as a solution for that, dirty as it makes me feel! XD
You can make 20 (I think) uploads of up to 50mb each, so that should do you for quite a while.

Re: HP!R - Housepets! Radio (Podcast)
I listened to that ages ago, but I've been busy which prevented me from replying until now. This project still has a lot of potential and I wish you guys the best of luck, but I would suggest you plan what you're going to say a bit more. And don't forget that most/all of your audience will be HP! fans, so there's no real need to read out the comics before you talk about them. Occasionally it's useful if you're focussing on a particular bit of dialogue, but reading the whole comic each time drags on a bit.
You want to work on getting the most enjoyable/interesting comments out in as short a time as possible. Perhaps make it into segments? So 10 minutes talking about the comic, 5 about fan talk (as in, rumours, guesses to future plotlines and twists, just general reactions to the comic) and 5 for any news about the community (such as Rick taking a break or falling ill, new fanfic or projects that are getting a lot of attention, upcoming guest comic weeks or whatever)
That would encourage you to stick more to the topic, and more people would be willing to dedicate their time to listening if the podcasts were shorter. I say this not to discourage you but because I think it's probably true: most users probably haven't even listened to a single one of these yet.
Don't let that discourage you! It's a nice project, but you need to prove that it has staying power and is relevant, and then more and more fans will start listening.
Finally, don't be afraid of editing it down after recording. Live is a good way of doing it at first, but before you finish and publish it, just cut out the silences, or any periods of time where you're talking to your cat (as an example :p)
Also, unless you're very fond of the musical break (or if you can get very relevant music like the HousePets themesong) I'd suggest cutting that out. You could still take a break, but edit it out afterwards.
So yeah, that's my advice, hope it helps, and best of luck with future shows

I agree with you on almost all of your points, I've been working to restructure the way HP!R is set up, It's kind of neat to see we both had many of the same ideas.sliceofdog wrote:I would suggest you plan what you're going to say a bit more.

Also, anyone who noticed, I miscounted the days for episode 4's release, it was supposed to be this weekend, rather than last.

you should try mediafire.comNickCrotser wrote: we need somewhere we can store the files and not have to worry about bandwidth... Anyone have any suggestions?
