You don't get snow?

I'd assume he does. Where I live in Arkansas, we get one or two snow storms per year, on average. (This does not include ice storms.) I've been really enjoying the last couple of winters; thunder snow is where it's at!

I wish Bogota had snow, the other day I had the biggest hailstorm of my life but never seen snow down here.

It snows in Tennessee, but hardly ever.

it often snows in Virginia.

I'm glad it doesn't snow that much. I hate snow.

Maybe it doesn't snow that much because you hate snow. The snow feels sad :(

I don't care if it feels sad or not! I still don't like it!

More often than in Tennessee, at least.

Why is that?

Cause of how cold it is... I hate snow cause I hate cold! And it only snows on really cold days!

And guess what;
Tensa, you changed fur again!?
(if you can't make up your mind why don't you use the same thing CaptainPea

It almost snowed two weeks ago... Thank goodness it didn't! I had to help plant trees in Biology, and I was not about to be snowed on!

Hah! Your lucky you didn't have to spend two snowy winters with nothing
but a thin layer of canvas protecting you from outside! Now that gives
"cold" a new meaning.

You said it was 40*C there?.... That's not so cold actually...
What temperature is it usually?

I just took a look at the temp its now 66 degrees.
And the temp here is Cold in the mornings and nights, and warm during the afternoons.

Most people in the United States use Imperial, not Metric, measurements. 66F, as opposed to the significantly hotter 66C.

That means it's 19 degrees C right now.

The only other system I use other than *C is *K (Kelvin, metric measurement from
absolute zero).

I dont like that one. I'd only use F, and C

Its necessary to know Kelvin to understand some advanced science stuff...
When I get the chance I always read science stuff, besides adventure/sci-fi etc

well when you know Celsius, Kelvin is simple addition. but no one other than scientists ever use that measurement.

I prefer the cold actually, good thing I live in the midwest.

Re: CT 32: CMJH

Ok:
Einstein's E=MC2 states nothing is supposed to travel faster than light,
finding something hat does is the ultimate violation to modern physics...
Until a few experiments showed that Neutrinos travel faster than light.
Now O.P. OPERA is being set up for further testing.
If its true, physics will have to be strongly revised.
I'm so excited!!

... What? Can you put it in simpler terms!

Re: CT 32: CMJH

Posted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 4:51 pm

nothing can go faster than light. but now something can. our understanding of physics may have changed.

simple enough?

... What? Can you put it in simpler terms!
I'll...try...
In sci-fi, space ships travel at "warp speed" to travel to other worlds.
Traveling at light speed would take about 4.5 years to get at the nearest
star.
Warp speed/hyperspace is faster than light and thus doesn't take so long
to get to things that would usually take generations.
Before the concept of traveling to other worlds became all too hip, Einstein
discovered that matter is energy, and vica-verca. (E=MC2)
That means that the faster you travel, the more matter you'll have, and the "heavier"
you are.
That meant there was an ultimate limit to the speed you could achieve: Max is light speed.
More faster and you'd (supposedly) have more energy and matter than the universe
can have.
But now they found a particle that might break that rule, the rule most physics is
based on.

Now for something simpler: NINJA'D!!!

I thought it was as you go faster, you lose mass, so if you go too fast you cease to exist or something.

Re: CT 32: CMJH

Posted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 5:05 pm
by Tattorack
Nope, its that you gain too much mass, and so you will perpetually slow down when you try to reach light speed.
