I did not see this anywhere so I decided to make it. So, what are your New Year's resolutions? Mine are to:

>Use my day planner religiously.
>Get a job of some sort.
>Weigh less than 80kg (175 lbs, BMI < 25) before AnthroCon.
>Not consume any caffeinated food or beverage.
>Not consume any beef eat any fast food.
>Make a profit off of something.
>Get all A's in my Spring and Fall semesters.

...and I want to continue to do the following until 1 January 2013 or later:
>Do one more sit-up every day. (30 October 2011)
>Go to at least one furry convention a year. (25 June 2010)

1. Have a good time this Freshman year;
2. Help at least one person get through their life (As befitting my planned future career as a clinical psychologist and/or general therapist);
3. Improve my writing;
4. Get a regular amount of sleep (Though I doubt I'll fulfill this one);
5. Maybe tone down a bit on being annoying!

yeah, I made a lot last year, and almost all of them failed...

So, this year, I'm gonna go with a smaller challenge...get at least a D in all my exams.

I definitely need this. I'll just steal this one and say that it's my resolution.

Well that is not really a change? He just wants to pass his classes. ^^;

What I would want to do maybe is get a job this summer maybe, since my Spring has way to many College classes.
Learn to be less shy in real life would help.

I need to add two more

I wonder why it is that most everyone's resolution has Lose Weight in it. Go on a diet. :3
And I badly want to see art from you Mr. Squirrely. ^^

Lose weight (I guess everyone here has self-esteem issues. We're not a very confident bunch I see)

Become the most hated person in intramural hockey

Get a 3.5 again

get my first tatoo

Refuse to cut back on my use of profanity.

Obviously not here where the use of profanity is frowned upon/imossible
Written profanity is just crude spoken profanity is an art form.

I don't think "wanting to loose weight" counts as a self esteem issue.

It doesn't but when just about everyone lists it I believe that it is a safe inference to make.

not necessarily. BMI is an actual number that tells you when you're at an unhealthy weight. According to that, I'm obese. I don't feel I have self-esteem issues, I just know I need to lose weight to be healthy.

It is often about self-esteem though, different for everyone though. Last I checked I was barely touching Over-Weight, Probably lost weight since then due to diet so I might be nearer to normalish now?

I'm almost under-weight according to the BMI scale.

New new years resolution: Gain weight. (You will never see that being said again)

My resolution: accomplishing any of my resolutions from the past four years.
(I look fat but my BMI is 22, is that bad?)

This is amusing, I have never done this before. I guess I can have one resolution.

Become less cynical.

I don't need to change; I'm fine the way I am. If anything, I'll change over time, but no need to predict incorrectly. ;3
Psykeout wrote:1)Don't make any resolutions.

So...doesn't that mean that you just officially declared a resolution to maintain a streak of no resolutions again, if we could state that the original resolution of having no resolutions was made in that first year of realization of having done no resolutions in the past?

Actually let me change that to

Become more cynical

That way I can achieve my goal without trying!

...though this year I already made it most of the way. :lol:

1 January 2011:
Weight: 100kg (220 lbs). BMI: 29.8 (Borderline Obese). WHtR: 0.53 (Increased Risk).

28 December 2011:
Weight: 85kg (188 lbs). BMI: 25.5 (Overweight). WHtR: 0.47 (Healthy).

My waist shrank from 97 to 87cm (38 to 34 in).

This is mostly due to a diet (which I have called #SeriousPuppy) that started on 6 October 2011.

In no proper order

1. Take a trip around the countryside of great britain, starting with Basingstoke (i know...i'm 24 and from Scotland and i've never really seen any place)
2. Drop my weight to about 13 stone by the summer
3. Get a job in the line of work i'm trained for (i.e. Physical Theatre, writing or film/television/theatre acting)
4. Bring myself out of that nasty overdraft.
5. Finish Babaldo and move on to a new story
6. Write or invent something worth bringing to the theatre and try to get it ready for the Arches Festival in September
7. Get my 10 minute college performance selected for the end of year show
8. Pass HND Physical Theatre
9. Meet Richard Adams
10. Look good wearing anything

1. Dunk a basketball 8-)

I'm pretty close now, touching the backboard every time and the rim occasionally. More calf raises, squats, wall sits, crunches, running, Praying Mantises, Marios and Luigis, Hammer Hops and Split Jump Lunges and I should be juusssst about there :)

I saw a poll on the front of USA Today a couple days ago displaying the most common New Years resolutions, presumably amongst their readers.
This, sadly, was not one of them. Let's change that.
